"As a solo male traveler whose sole purpose was to chase waves, I found POP! Hotel Kuta Beach to be a surprisingly good basecamp. For just $17 a night, it's an absolute steal, offering far more value than its price tag suggests. The hotel itself is a cozy, meaning it's got a unique, no-frills charm that works perfectly for a surf trip. My room was clean and tidy, and the air-conditioning was a lifesaver after a long day in the tropical heat. One of the biggest perks was the Netflix access, which was a great way to unwind and chill out in the evenings. The only real area for improvement was the shower. While it did eventually get warm, it took a while for the heater to kick in, which was a minor inconvenience. However, given the ridiculously low price, it's a small trade-off I was more than willing to make. If you're on a tight budget and need a clean, comfortable, and well-located place to crash between surf sessions, this is it. You're getting incredible value for your money and a place that understands what a no-fuss traveler needs. I can't ask for more, really."

"This Canggu location is a little off the beaten track but still convenient. Teeny is an excellent host and her Kombucha is low in sugar and tastes good. Comfortable pillows and spotless bathrooms. Full kitchen facilities in main hotel area."

"As a solo traveller I found this hotel to be good value for money because it is along Jalan Melasti - the street up from the entrance gate to Pantai Legian (ie Legian Beach 500m). There are half a dozen restaurants within a 400m walk ranging from the delicious and fancy Bella Italia or the Lemongrass and the more affordable “Uncle Norm’s” and “The Goat”. The location is 1km from the Bali bombing memorial in Kuta. The airport is about a $10-$13 AUD  Gojek /Grab ride away (15minutes depending on time of day and traffic.  My room had a nice queen sized bed and they promptly provided me with a kettle after I asked for one. The staff are very young and maybe not the most fluent in English but they mean well. It helps to ask them in basic English (a few times) so they get my instructions (asking for water or directions etc). The room has a decent bathroom and the only issue I had was that my room was consistently in the dark as there are no windows. There is a door that leads out onto a weird ledge that unfortunately or oddly is shared by the neighbor (meaning if I step out and the neighbor steps out we can go into each others rooms). I just kept that particular door shut because I saw through the curtain that the neighbor had his door open so he could smoke. I didn’t want to make contact or have smoke come in. It’s not a major issue for me but just be aware. Oh btw…the ledge or balcony looks onto nothing but a brick wall. Overall I’m inclined to say that you’re getting value for money because you get a clean room, comfy bed in a central location. The breakfast is brought into your room at your nominated time (between 7-10.30am). Breakfast is an omlette, 2 pieces of bread, coffee, orange juice and small sausages along with 3 small Indonesian sweets). Not exactly a hearty meal but what do you expect for $5? I stayed a month and it suited my needs."

"I arrived late after my flight, so this was the perfect place to stay. I absolutely love this style of pod accommodation — it’s honestly one of my favourite types of places to stay. I slept so well here. The staff were really friendly, the showers and toilets were clean, and there was space to store luggage safely. I would definitely stay here again."

"A very cozy and authentic guesthouse 🤍 The pool is great and clean! The grounds are like a fairytale forest! I recommend staying on the second floor, the balcony view is superb. The bedding and bathroom are a 3/5 – there's no duvet cover, and the bathroom has old fixtures. The room itself is good. Not for the picky ones 👍"

"Great location and spacious room. The hotel is surprisingly quiet, even though it's right near the main street. The staff were very responsive and polite. There's also a small pool on site. I really enjoyed everything. Definitely recommend!"

"Wifi is reliable. Room is big. However, the road going to the hotel is very narrow and our driver had a hard time locate it and car was not able to go inside. Street is a little beside a parking/convenience store, very not obvious road. Hope you can add some clothes hanger and add a disposable slippers, since the floor is cold. Refrigerator is a big help. I hope there’s more combination of light switch so it will not be too dark or bright in the room during sleep. I’m not sure if the place is under renovation but there was no proper lobby or reception area when we arrive but good thing is staff is nice and able to lend us a socket/adaptor and umbrella. Ambiance on the pool is good. We stayed in the 2nd floor and when it rained, the hallway in the middle and stairs are wet, hope you can install a roof on that part."

"This isn't my first time staying here, and I always enjoy it. It has everything you need, it's convenient, and modern. The mattress is comfortable too, and everything is well-thought-out. There's a cafe on the ground floor with delicious croissants. The staff at the front desk are always polite and friendly. Thank you!"

"Friendly staff, polite receptionist, comfortable room, strong shower pressure, and a varied and delicious breakfast. Next time, I'll definitely stay at Amaris Dewi Sri again."
