"Panthong Hotel is located at 1 Phetkasem Soi 2, Sanam Chan Subdistrict, Mueang Nakhon Pathom District. I stayed there on Saturday, January 10th, 2026 for 470 baht (booked via Trip.com, including breakfast with two dishes, bread, margarine, condensed milk, and coffee). Upon arrival at the hotel, I participated in the online Dhamma Yatra ceremony with 1142 monks (commemorating the 142nd birthday of Phra Mongkol Thepmuni) at the Khlong Bang Nang Taen Memorial, Hom Kret Subdistrict, Sam Phran District, which is near Wat Song Khanong, Song Khanong Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Mahidol University Salaya Campus. It's 7.5 km from Wat Rai Khing and 28 km from Panthong Hotel. The most convenient way to get there from my home in Ladprao is by MRT, getting off at Bangkok Central Station (Apiwat Station). From there, various buses from Mochit 2 Bus Depot pick up passengers. Then, it's a short walk to the long-distance train station. Take the southbound train to Nakhon Pathom station (20 baht/hour). (It passes by several train stations you might want to visit, including Bang Bamru, located in an alley leading to Sirindhorn Road, Bang Phlat district, bordering Wat Chalo subdistrict, Bang Kruai district, Nonthaburi province. It's also near the light red line BTS Skytrain and Salaya train station. For the return trip, the last train after check-out at noon from the hotel is at 5 PM, costing over 200 baht. A minivan is better (45-60 baht), which drops you off at many places in Bangkok.) You can also use the Bolt app to call a motorcycle taxi (20+ baht/3km) to get to the front of Panthong Hotel, near Phra Pathom Chedi (2 km). From the hotel, walk towards Ratchadamnoen Road; on the left is a Sai Nom shop in Ton Son alley. Alternatively, enter through a community alley for Pa Ja's Hainanese Chicken Rice (0.6km). Between Phetkasem Soi 12 and Soi 10 is The Little Cup Cafe and Workshop; Central Nakhon Pathom (0.5km), etc. The hotel looks clean and comfortable. The room is very clean, with no dust or stains. Light bulbs, outlets, and switches are readily available, making it convenient. The bed is comfortable, not too soft or too hard. The pillows and blankets have a faint, pleasant scent. The air conditioning is cool and quiet, the bathroom is well-ventilated, not stuffy, and doesn't have any sewer smells, the balcony has a nice, open view, a large, long table with a work chair and a seating chair, a dressing table with a mirror, and a large, easy-to-use, clean trash can. The TV has a clear picture and is easy to use. The refrigerator is clean, and the drinking water is Singha in a glass bottle, which we appreciate (we don't like plastic). The breakfast is filling and delicious. P.S. The chili sauce, fish sauce, shallots, and lime are perfect with hot rice. The Wi-Fi is of good quality, and there are no other branches. There is a large parking lot in front of the hotel. Other interesting accommodations include Baan Champa Residence, 602 Thang Rot Fai Tawan Tok Soi 14, Phra Pathom Chedi Subdistrict, Sanam Chan Royal Palace Railway Station (0.3km) 593 THB/night."
