Easy access to activities such as fishing, crabbing, prawn fishing, hiking, etc.The spaceThis property is large mostly covered by tall trees such as red cedars, hemlock, birch trees. We suggest wearing comfortable shoes if you plan on exploring all of it. Of the 30 acres, approx. 13 acres is grassland filled with natural wildflowers during the spring and summer. The rest of the acreage is forest with a private trail that weaves through the trees and across a stream. There is a lot of wildlife including otters, northern pygmy owls, belted kingfishers, bald eagles, ravens, wood peckers, goldfinches, hummingbirds, tree frogs and etc. Great for birdwatching! There is a gazebo on the island in the middle of the lake that makes a quiet spot for reading or bird watching. Please keep front gate closed to keep deer out. The 13 acre grassy area is fully deer fenced. Dogs can go off leash. The guest suite stretches out from the main house with its own entrance. The many windows in suite directly face the garden and Vancouver island coastal mountain views.Organic fruit and vegetables are right here in our garden and available for sale in summer. You will definitely be amazed by how fresh they are. The kitchen is ready for you to cook your own delicious food. There is not a TV in the suite but there is Wi-Fi in one room of the suite. The forest trail is accessible from just outside the main gate. Please CLOSE THE GATE after entering and leaving. Or else the deer will invade and refuse to leave. By car, we are located 15 minutes away from the Denman Island West ferry terminal to Vancouver Island and 8 minutes from the Denman Island East ferry terminal to Hornby.Accessibility: There are no stairs or steps inside the guesthouse; it's all on one level. Guests can go down the grassy area or use the garden steps to reach the B&B entrance.Safety: No water activities, swimming or wading in any of the bodies of water on the property. (There is no shallow water and there are sharp rocks and dirty water. Kye Bay is nestled on the East Coast of central Vancouver Island, BC in the town of Comox. We offer your stay at our coach house style home, situated bank side on a quiet lane, across from a parklet beach access on lower Kye Bay Road. Enjoy the seasonal views of Mother Nature‘s bounty of wildlife and all beach activities. We are close to CFB Comox, airport, Mt. Washington, all amenities and recreation options in the Comox Valley. We love pets, but this is a pet free rental please. Take advantage while we are away…escape to the beach and enjoy your stay in our open concept 1 bedroom home. The property is shared with the original cabin, that grew over the years, now called Kye Bay Cottage where we generationally reside with the Nest. The Nest is a versatile open living space for a getaway, ideal for 1-2 humans. But visitors have shared to is also perfect to accommodate a family with the additional sleeping, for short stays. The couch converts to a mattress quality twin bed and the settee converts to a mattress quality single bed, both in the living room. Please keep in mind that this will make the 700 sq/ft space very full. If needed, a tent could be accommodated in the yard.This property provides a covered sitting area and outdoor seating options with the vast beach that is steps away. Enjoy all the modern conveniences of our home with a queen bed (enjoy the view while sipping your morning coffee in bed), dishwasher, washer/dryer, oven, counter cooktop, microwave, TV and wifi. Please note the wifi can be unpredictably impacted by increased air activity at CFB Comox and the airport. The generous sized bathroom has heated tile floors, full shower with bathtub, and bidet toilet.
