"I had a very pleasant stay at Erhai Lakeview Apartments. First photo is the view from the room, absolutely stunning! Room is big and spacious with a lot of space to open our luggage. We were assisted by very friendly and helpful staff 小乐 throughout our stay and he provided us with food recommendations around the area as well as possible itinerary or activities to do in Dali during our stay. Additionally, the apartment is conveniently located above a convenience store, local eats, a cafe, and options to rent e-scooters for transport around the city. The street opposite also has many good food options. Would recommend!"

"This little hotel in Dali Ancient Town was our favourite. It is not anything fancy, but the location was perfect. Initially, I booked a hotel near the 3 Pagoda’s temple, which was more expensive. After realizing it was remote and had its own issues, we immediately decided we had to relocate. This hotel welcomed us and gave us a nice room for a very modest 105 RMB. Two single beds, which we pushed together, a good shower and amenities too. While there is no elevator, the receptionist is kind and helped us bring our bags to the second floor."

"The sea view outside the window was stunning, and the king-size room was very comfortable. The bed was a bit messy, but the bedding was cozy, and the toiletries were of good quality. The decor had an antique and grand style. The only downsides were the broken towel rack in the bathroom and the TV not turning on, but the front desk said they would fix them later. The front desk staff was very enthusiastic and patient, much appreciated!"

"The owner of this B&B is incredibly kind, making every guest feel right at home. The decor is also perfectly my style, with a lovely Nordic touch. What really stood out was the brand-new, premium mattress – a Cheers brand, I believe. Sleeping on it every night helped melt away the day's fatigue. The owner was exceptionally hospitable, even treating us to an afternoon tea with fragrant rose tea and delicious flower cakes. We had such a pleasant time chatting with them. They also kindly offered a complimentary ride to the high-speed train station when we checked out, which was incredibly thoughtful. They even recommended some fantastic local rice noodles and a unique Yunnan wild mushroom hot pot and BBQ restaurant. All in all, my stay in Dali, Yunnan, was incredibly comfortable. The people of Dali are so friendly, and I definitely plan on visiting Yunnan again!"

"The owner was incredibly welcoming and kind. They even picked us up from the bus station and took us to the guesthouse. Our room was spotless and fresh, with no unpleasant smells. The first floor of the guesthouse is absolutely beautiful! 😍 And the rooftop patio is amazing – you can relax on the swing, gaze at Cangshan Mountain in the distance, and admire the old town. It's incredibly peaceful and relaxing! I highly recommend booking here! It's super close to the South Gate of the old town, which is perfect for an evening stroll and experiencing the night market. Overall, a fantastic experience!"

"The suite has a very nice structure with a covered glass window and a small balcony. It is accessed by a two-story staircase and you have to carry your suitcases. Unfortunately the room would require maintenance and you have the perception of a bit of neglect. The bathroom is also very large but it does not have a handle to hold on to in order to get out of the shower, which floods with the risk of slipping. There are also signs of wear on the faucet as shown in the photo. The staff is friendly and the location is convenient but I expected something more from the room."

"Entering the hotel was like stepping into one of those beautiful Chinese drama set, felt so surreal. The room was clean and the staffs were helpful (thank you 小岳和小邓!). A lot of complimentary stuffs were provided as well. The hotel is located just few hundred meters from the entrance of Dali ancient town so it's convenient. At night lots of restaurants in the main street open until very late so it's easy to find food."

"Going out to play like looking for a hotel for nearly two years, I didn't intend to see this homestay just opened on the Internet, and there was a comment that was a bit awkward. I contacted the people at the homestay and came to pick us up. The family was very enthusiastic and helped us carry our luggage. The locals opened it and upgraded us to a sea view room for free. Open the curtains and you can see the Bohai Sea. I am really grateful. The room has a large space, the environment is very good, the facilities are also very complete, the toilet is still constant temperature, the bedding is very comfortable, I wake up naturally when I sleep, and the bathrobe is super soft and comfortable. Auntie prepared a good rich breakfast rice noodles buns eggs, etc., very delicious recommended recommended."

"The room was renovated this year, so it's very new and clean. It has a wet and dry separation, offering great value for money. It's walking distance to Erhai Park, and they give you flower cakes upon check-in. If you're driving, you'll need to park on the street or in an alley, and give the keys to the front desk so they can move your car if needed. It's even more recommended if you're not driving. I forgot to take pictures when I checked in, but there's a delicious hand-grabbed rice place nearby!"

"Dali was our family's favorite city on this Yunnan trip! As soon as we stepped out of the high-speed rail station, we had a great feeling – it was spacious and clean. We took a walk for a bit, the sky was so blue, and the streets were spotless. We were even more pleased when we got to the hotel. The room was clean and tidy. We originally booked for two days but extended our stay for another night. You can tell the owner pays great attention to detail; all the amenities were good quality, and there was even a smart voice assistant. What's most commendable is that the bathroom in this southern hotel had a heater, so showering was very warm – a huge plus for us Northeasterners, haha! We felt the thoughtfulness of the owner; there were anti-collision strips on the table corners and the corners of the wall paintings. On our departure, the owner even drove us to the station. Our trip was limited, so we only stayed for three days and were reluctant to leave. It's worth mentioning that the small shop downstairs from the hotel is a hidden gem; we ate there for three consecutive days and highly recommend it to everyone. Dali is mainly inhabited by the Bai people, and the beautiful scenery here has nurtured their gentle and kind nature. The drivers and the aunties selling things we met were all very nice, and the scenery goes without saying – Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake are breathtaking. We'll definitely come back if we get the chance. I'm writing so much because Dali is truly worth visiting!"
