The location was perfect, close to the railway station, which was very handy for us as we came over from Kunming and then went back. You're close to many of the central places and with DiDi taxi, it's super easy to get around from here. We will for sure book here again; we're already planning a visit back."

"A very satisfying stay! The lobby is grand and impressive, and the overall environment is excellent. A special shout-out to the front desk staff – they were incredibly warm, polite, and efficient in handling everything, which made the check-in process very smooth and comfortable. They even gave us complimentary welcome fruits and snacks. The room itself was well-equipped, the bed was super comfortable, and it was a really nice room overall! The location is also fantastic; there are tons of great food spots right outside the hotel, and you can walk to the Old Town pedestrian street in just one minute, which is incredibly convenient! Dali is truly beautiful, and I'll definitely be back next time! I'll also be recommending this hotel to my friends."

"We absolutely loved our stay at Shanyuyishe Boutique B&B in Dali Ancient City. The location was perfect for us — tucked away in a peaceful corner near Dali Ancient City, yet only a short walk to the shops, cafés, and attractions. What truly made the stay special was the hospitality. The owner was incredibly warm and welcoming, helping us with our luggage, preparing breakfast every morning, and always making sure we were comfortable. The breakfast was simple but delicious, especially the rice noodles, which we looked forward to each morning. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We especially loved the beautiful courtyard and the overall peaceful atmosphere. A couple of things to note for families and travellers with larger luggage. The beautiful courtyard has a koi pond running through parts of it, which adds to the charm, but I was constantly keeping an eye on my kids as I was worried they might accidentally fall in. Thankfully, nothing happened, but it’s something parents with young children may want to be aware of. Another consideration is luggage. Vehicles can stop near the property, but you’ll still need to carry your luggage across parts of the courtyard. If you’re staying on Levels 2 or 3, there is no lift, so luggage has to be carried up manually. The owner was kind enough to help us, but it’s still worth considering if you’re travelling with multiple large suitcases. For our family room, one small downside was that although the room was very spacious, there was only one air-conditioner serving the entire unit. The smaller bedroom felt a little stuffy and warm at night. That said, the owner was very responsive and quickly provided us with a fan the next day, which made a huge difference and solved the issue for us. Overall, the warmth of the host, comfortable rooms, delicious breakfast, and peaceful setting far outweighed these minor inconveniences. We’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cosy and authentic stay in Dali. ❤️🏔️✨"

"I accidentally found the newly opened homestay in Bay Bridge, and the experience is full! The authentic Bai people's houses run by the locals are elegantly decorated, with exquisite sculptures of the special walls, and full of Bai people's customs. The location is excellent, very close to the Bohai Sea, it is also very convenient to go to S Bay, and it is super comfortable to go out for a walk to see the sea. The room is fully equipped with a constant temperature kettle, the details are intimate, comparable to the five-star hotel, especially friendly to traveling with children. The manager is warm and hospitable, treats people sincerely, and also intimately upgrades the room for us. The small courtyard is quiet and comfortable, and it is comfortable to live. It is highly recommended!"

The price is definitely a great value, making it ideal for a short stay to experience Dali life. Being right next to the Old Town, and with many Bai ethnic group locals living nearby, there's a strong local vibe. Just walk down an alley, and around the corner, you'll find lots of snack stalls, a wet market, and very affordable fruits and flowers. "This beachfront guesthouse is a hidden gem, you won't regret staying here! The location is fantastic, right on the waterfront with stunning sea views. You don't have to go far to reach Erhai Lake, and there are plenty of great restaurants nearby, making dining and drinks super convenient. The butler service is incredibly thoughtful and attentive, providing genuine care throughout your stay. The cleanliness is exceptional; the entire house is spotless, the bedding is clean and soft, and the bathtub and vanity are meticulously cleaned and disinfected repeatedly. All the facilities are new and well-equipped. You can enjoy an immersive sea view from the scenic bathtub, and the public library corner offers a quiet and atmospheric space. But what impressed me most was the hospitality and service—especially from Joy. From picking us up at the train station, to helping us arrange an EV bike rental (even though we eventually decided not to), to personally taking us to dinner and recommending dishes, trusting us with her dog Hamburg, and specially arranging for us to be dropped off at the station when we left even though she was busy with work. Joy made sure everything was well taken care of. She is a true asset to the guesthouse: friendly, sincere in her kind gestures without expecting anything in return, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. What we admire most is that Joy treats her dog as a family member. She is truly a person filled with loving kindness and will always be blessed for this. The part we appreciated most was getting to spend quality time with her dog, Hamburg, who brought us so much happiness and filled our days with joy. Hamburg is a loving dog with a heart of gold. Anyone especially dog lovers would truly fall in love with him. Together, Joy and Hamburg make the best combination. They brought smiles and joy to us. They are the real assets of the place. We hope they will be greatly rewarded. Thank you, Joy, for giving us the best souvenir in China—Hamburg's most loved toy. This is the best gift ever! She has a warm personality, is friendly, and treats her staff like family. She is also in the midst of learning English for self-improvement. She has the willingness to learn and the kind of down-to-earth attitude that most hotel owners don't. We felt comfortable being with her, and she even hosted a farewell dinner for us. What we love most is that she is an animal lover and even included Hamburg in the dinner. She has a heart full of compassion. We had a great time together, and the night ended with smiles and laughter. We started as strangers but ended as friends.🙂 We were reluctant to leave after three nights, and if given the chance, we would love to extend our stay to a week in the future. This place is truly a gem, thanks to the wonderful management and the people behind it. We will surely recommend friends to your guesthouse—it is a gem hidden in Dali. I'll definitely remember to bring a swimsuit next time. Cleanliness: Spotlessly clean, every single corner was pristine. Environment: The environment was beautiful, with vibrant flowers and green plants all around the room entrances. I loved it. Service: The staff at the front desk were incredibly warm, thoughtful, and attentive. It felt just like coming home! Breakfast: The lavish buffet breakfast was easily four-star quality, with fresh ingredients and delicious flavors. A huge thumbs up! GGuest UserWe chose this hotel after seeing photos of the amazing views from its rooms - and we were not disappointed. The hotel is located in a high rise residential apartment complex, and situated in between the east and west banks of Erhai lake. You could see both banks clearly from the balcony, with Cangshan serving as the backdrop. Service was personal and wonderful too. We had our rooms upgraded for free to a bigger one, and the staff gave many useful recommendations of local restaurants, attractions and bike rental - very very handy for cycling Erhai lake (the bike shop she recommended was professional and provided high quality bikes which enabled us to go halfway around the lake, and could be returned at a different location). She also made us tea personally upon request, and offered to teach us teamaking. Overall, a very pleasant stay with nothing to complain about. Will recommend this hotel to fellow travellers who are looking to stay in a less touristy part of Dali, away from the ancient town area, with amazing views from the hotel itself.

You can watch the sunrise from your bed and see the sunset paint the lake. The 270-degree unobstructed view totally exceeded my expectations. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was soft, and all the bathroom amenities were provided. Both the guesthouse's terrace and courtyard are perfect for photos, and it's just a few steps out to the Erhai Ecological Corridor, which is super convenient for walks or cycling. The owner was incredibly warm and thoughtful, taking care of pickup and breakfast with great attention to detail. This was the most satisfying stay I've had in Dali. I'll definitely choose this place again next time I visit Erhai Lake. Highly recommended!

The owner keeps the courtyard meticulously maintained, and there are two adorable little cats – truly an ideal cat life! They have a good variety of room types, and there's also a large terrace on the third floor where you can overlook the distant Cangshan Mountain. But the service here is what really stands out. Everyone affectionately calls the owner 'Sister Mo.' From booking to checking out, she was incredibly warm and friendly, offering many great recommendations for restaurants and touring routes that won't disappoint. In the mornings, you can even enjoy Sister Mo's unique Zajiangmian (Sichuan meat sauce noodles) breakfast, which perfectly suits a Sichuan palate. I'll definitely choose this place again on my next visit. It's very close to the ancient city but without the hustle and bustle, making it super convenient for getting around.

GGuest UserThis place truly made me feel at home. I arrived at the hotel starving after my business trip, heading straight into a solo vacation. The owner's father personally picked me up from the airport and even made me a warm bowl of noodles. The rest of my stay was wonderful. The room had an unbeatable location; I could see Erhai Lake and Cangshan Mountain the moment I woke up, and enjoyed both sunrise and sunset, plus the evening 'fish lanterns'. Reading, sunbathing, and feeling the breeze from Erhai Lake on the balcony – it was incredibly relaxing. The only downside was that the room was so comfortable, I barely wanted to leave to explore! The owner, knowing I was tired, even brought my takeout right to my room. I wish all hard-working people like them continued success!

MmandaKKKThis hotel and room were the best out of all the places we chose to stay in Dali 🎉 no regrets at all. It's very accessible, has spacious rooms, and the views are absolutely stunning. We loved it so much that we regretted only staying for one night. The location is super convenient, with lots of shops, restaurants, and activities right downstairs. You can watch the sunset in the morning and enjoy the night views in the evening, with people playing guitars and such ❤️🥺. The staff provided excellent service. Before check-in, they messaged us on Trip.com and then added us on WeChat. They even helped us carry our luggage from the convenience store to the hotel (as cars couldn't go in). Upon arrival, we were greeted with a fruit platter, afternoon tea, and small cakes! We absolutely loved it and highly recommend staying here when you visit Dali for a wonderful experience ❤️.
