"I had an early morning flight from Kuala Lumpur to Kunming, followed by a morning train from Kunming to Dali, so obviously my energy was completely drained. However, the moment I arrived at this hotel on 27 May 2026, the warm welcome from the staff instantly made me feel better. They even allowed me to check in early so I could rest and kindly offered me breakfast too, which I truly appreciated after the long journey. The hotel is super strategically located inside Dali Old Town — very easy to find, surrounded by everything, and honestly super cute! My room was amazing and so comfortable that I had one of the deepest sleeps ever to recover from the exhaustion! Before leaving, I even gifted my Nike Air Force sneakers, which were still in good condition, to one of the hotel staff. Hopefully they fit him well! 😄 Totally recommended this hotel if you’re visiting Dali."

"Full marks, highly recommended! Kevin, the butler at Songyun Banshan, provided service that exceeded all expectations. The experience at Dali Songyun Banshan Hotel completely surpassed what I anticipated, and I especially want to commend our dedicated butler, Kevin. His service was professional, thoughtful, and truly top-notch! Even before we arrived, Kevin proactively contacted us to confirm our itinerary, discuss our needs, and even thoughtfully advised us on the weather and what to wear. Upon arrival, he was already waiting for us at the entrance, enthusiastically helped with our luggage, and swiftly handled the check-in process. He then meticulously explained the hotel facilities and how to use the smart devices in the room. He also thoughtfully recommended his favorite local eateries and lesser-known scenic spots, and the sightseeing route he planned for us was incredibly practical. During our stay, Kevin was incredibly responsive, practically replying to messages instantly and being available whenever we needed him. When I mentioned wanting breakfast on the room's balcony, he made sure the table was set up beforehand. When I casually expressed an interest in local experiences, he helped book a cycling trip around Erhai Lake and a tie-dye workshop, arranging everything perfectly. Upon departure, Kevin pre-arranged our transport, helped with our luggage, and escorted us all the way to the entrance – so warm and considerate. The hotel itself has an exceptional environment with panoramic views of Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake, and the facilities are of high quality. However, Kevin's service truly made this trip extra heartwarming and unforgettable. I highly recommend Songyun Banshan, and you can't go wrong asking for Butler Kevin. I will definitely choose this place again on my next visit to Dali!"

"The first hotel on our Yunnan trip was absolutely fantastic! The moment we stepped into the courtyard, we were instantly charmed by the beautiful flowers and plants, and seeing the adorable cats and dogs just lifted our spirits. The room was very clean, and the bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, which is one of my must-haves when choosing accommodation. The bedding was super comfortable, and the bed was great for sleeping. They even had a direct drinking water dispenser in the room, which felt much safer than an electric kettle. The guesthouse is just over a ten-minute walk to the South Gate of the ancient town. The walk back takes a few minutes longer because there's an uphill slope right before you reach the guesthouse, but if you rent a scooter, it's no problem at all. They even thoughtfully provided a foot bath tub in the room – soaking my feet after a long day was so relaxing. The staff at the guesthouse were all young men, and they were warm and welcoming without being intrusive. If I come back to Dali, I'll definitely choose this guesthouse again."

I sit by the window with a cup of coffee, watching Erhai Lake slowly awaken. The breeze is gentle, the water shimmers serenely, as if breathing for me~~ Breakfast 🍳 is a double delight for both sight and taste— Exquisite dishes transform in the play of light and shadow. Outside the floor-to-ceiling windows, clouds drift slowly, and people sit at leisure. 🏡 Some memorable glimpses: · Ground floor seaside garden: Green lawn, Cangshan mountains, and Erhai Lake, pristine like a newborn dream. · Swing lobby: 180-degree sea view. No need to compete with the scenery, it's already the perfect composition."

"The hotel is conveniently located near the Erhai Gate in the ancient city, making it very easy to get to Caicun Pier. The rooms are all very clean and spacious, making it a strong recommendation for families traveling together. Every member of the front desk team is absolutely amazing! One evening during our stay, my mother had acute gastroenteritis. She was feeling really unwell and threw up in the lobby (we had our own plastic bag). One of the ladies immediately brought us mouthwash and a proper sick bag, while a male staff member brought hot water and tissues, and even asked if she had eaten any wild mushrooms and if we needed any further assistance. I've stayed in many hotels, but it's only in an emergency situation like this that you truly see the hotel's thoughtful service and compassionate approach! I will definitely be back to this hotel whenever I return to Dali!"

"This guesthouse truly impressed and touched me. First, it was spotlessly clean. All the toiletries in the room were from the Herborist brand, and both the bath towels and face towels were disposable, which is rare even in hotels. Every afternoon, there was a rich afternoon tea spread with a wide variety of coffees (and unlimited refills!), beautifully presented with latte art. The breakfast was nutritious and exquisitely prepared. The lounge area was perfect for reading, enjoying tea, sunbathing, and admiring the Cangshan mountains. Every table had fresh flowers, adding a vibrant touch. All these little details made me feel comfortable and warm. The owner was also very thoughtful, recommending the best travel routes for us. This guesthouse is very close to the ancient town, just a few minutes' walk, making it incredibly convenient. If you find the ancient town a bit noisy but still want a quiet place that's close by, this is definitely the place to choose. They even gave us a souvenir when we checked out. All in all, it put a perfect end to our trip!"

"Our first day at another popular sea-view hotel was terrible; we couldn't check in even by evening, and it was raining, which left my partner and me feeling very down. We decided to take a taxi to 'Yi Zhan Xue' on the spur of the moment. The front desk staff, noting the rain outside, kindly upgraded our room for free, hoping we'd have a better stay. Both the front desk and reception staff were incredibly patient and gentle. We were so delighted that we canceled our bookings at other hotels for the following days and extended our stay here instead. The room also had access to a public lounge area with large windows offering fantastic views outside. The breakfast was exquisite; I even stayed up all night for two days just to enjoy it. It's a shame I won't be returning to Dali, otherwise, I would definitely stay here again."
