"For my 21-day trip to Australia, I stayed in 11 hotels, mainly across Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide. Here's my ranking of the hotels from best to worst in terms of overall experience, with value for money factored in: 1. Capella Sydney (Lower value for money) 2. Park Hyatt Melbourne (High value for money) 3. InterContinental Melbourne The Rialto (Medium value for money) 4. Crown Towers Melbourne (High value for money) 5. Le Méridien Melbourne (Medium value for money) 6. Hilton Adelaide (Medium value for money) 7. The Langham Melbourne (Lower value for money) 8. Citadines on Bourke Melbourne (Best value for money) 9. Meriton Suites Waterloo, Sydney (High value for money) 10. Best Western Plus Travel Inn Hotel, Melbourne (Lower value for money) 11. The Hotel Windsor, Melbourne (Worst value for money) The Park Hyatt Melbourne stood out as having the best service among all 11 hotels. We arrived around 5:00 PM and were informed our room wasn't quite ready, requiring a 10-15 minute wait. Before I could even react, the front desk staff immediately offered complimentary breakfast for the next day as an apology, along with a voucher for two drinks at the lobby bar while we waited. Of course, we happily accepted! The hotel's location is a little outside the very center, situated behind Parliament House and right next to St. Patrick's Cathedral, which you can see from the rooms. Fitzroy Gardens, home to Cook's Cottage, is also within walking distance and worth a visit. I was very impressed with the hotel's amenities. The room even had a three-prong power outlet, a feature I didn't find in any other hotel. The 'old money' decor gave it a grounded and understated elegance. Breakfast was excellent and very extensive, with freshly made Western pastries that were incredibly delicious. I heard their flat white is even better than those from popular specialty coffee shops. The heated pool was long and narrow, feeling like it was definitely more than 25 meters. There's also a tennis court available for A$50 an hour, though you need to bring your own racket."

"The Marriott Hotel was a terrific stay. The room was spacious, modern, had beautiful views of Victoria Square, and very clean. The pool facilities and bar were also extremely clean and had a modern, sleek design. Staff were also very friendly. One suggestion with check in - if staff are on the phone upon arrival, a simple 'we will be with your shortly' or ask another staff to help wouldn't hurt. A 5 min wait isn't a good look - you never know who the client is (hotel inspector?, travel guide?, investor?) Also, a sauna or spa would have complimented the well-designed pool nicely. However, i understand that space might be an issue. Definitely one of the best hotels so far in Adelaide."

"Was a great stay, pool is beautiful but smaller than I initially thought. It gets over crowded easily, cant imagine how busy it is during holiday season. Breakfast buffet was OK, although there were not that many options. Nice room, clean and comfy (relatively new building)"

"They offered me the buffet for my breakfasts and from the moment I entered until I left I told them that I was going alone, I was staying alone and they charged me consumption for two people, they really take advantage of people, all the time I told them that I was alone and that I would have to pay for only one consumption and as they withheld a balance, they discounted me for two people and only returned me a small part."

"We extended our stay for another day and were very satisfied with the hotel's excellent service. From the front desk to the housekeeping staff, everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. As seniors, we truly appreciate all the young men and women who assisted us. A big thank you to everyone, and we will definitely stay at Pullman Hotel again next time."

"The location is fantastic, within walking distance to all the main attractions, and there's public transport just a few hundred meters away that goes directly to the airport. The facilities are a bit old, but the room itself is spacious and very clean. Overall, I'd still highly recommend it."

"We stayed at the hotel for my husband's birthday and had a great time. Loved the heated pool and jacuzzi. Room was very spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was a bit disappointing, very cramped and staff were struggling to keep up, did not feel like a five star experience. Balcony really tiny with no view, so not one you could actually use. Service was excellent and staff were very friendly."

"It's a domestic four-star hotel. The foreign man at the front desk has very poor service! He didn't even give me water! I've never seen anything like this! Bath salts cost 10 Australian dollars, and there were no toothbrushes or cotton pads! Breakfast was a single order! There was a Malaysian girl at the front desk who was very nice."

"The location is excellent, right by Glenelg Beach. Supermarkets and restaurants are all within a 5-10 minute walk. Driving to Adelaide city center or the airport takes only 15 to 30 minutes. The hotel also has a casino and a bar where you can enjoy a drink or try your luck. While the hotel shows its age a bit, it's clean and the rooms are spacious enough. Breakfast was just average, with limited food choices, but the view was lovely. The paid parking lot is not in the same building as the hotel; it's across the street, about 30 steps away, so you'll need to carry your luggage over."
