"I consider the Pullman a solid five-star hotel. Everything was great, and the room had a fantastic view, looking directly onto Dali Port Wharf. The service was excellent; they were very accommodating to all requests. Most importantly, the cleanliness was impeccable, even in all the hidden corners. The room was quiet and the breakfast was superb! If I return to Dali, I'll definitely choose the Pullman again!"

Hotel near Dali Ancient City,Dali
Dali Taoxi Mengdie Secret Manor,Nurtured by the exquisite landscapes of Cangshan’s Peach Stream, it is an upscale resort manor integrating life aesthetics, local culture and natural healing. Crafted by the owner over more than a decade alongside one of the Eighteen Streams of Cangshan, it stands as a vessel of time and a spiritual sanctuary. "Zhuangzi Dreamed of Butterflies; dwell in the Peach Blossom Land. Here you reclaim the poetry and freedom between Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake." Polished through years of refinement, it has evolved from an original secluded mountain retreat into an exclusive hideaway that embraces traditional Chinese culture and local spirit, blending wild luxury with private hot springs. Every corner of the estate is bathed in the breeze of Cangshan, the moonlight of Erhai Lake, and the earthly poetic charm of Dali. This is no sterile luxury hotel, but an immersive local experience centered on natural healing, cultural immersion and spiritual awakening. Rise early for a hike into Cangshan Mountain, listen to the gurgling Peach Stream, and watch sea of clouds drift over pine forests. Spend the afternoon sipping authentic Dali tea in the Zen courtyard, as sunlight and shadow linger upon Bai ethnic wood carvings. At night, fall asleep to mountain breezes, with a sky full of stars twinkling overhead. Tucked away in lush gardens, our guest rooms infuse Bai ethnic intangible cultural heritage, local art, yoga meditation and natural healing into every moment of your stay. Every guest may cast aside weariness amid mountains and rivers, find inner peace in cultural nourishment, and reconnect with oneself through healing serenity. At Taoxi Mengdie, what you encounter is far more than a manor—it is the most authentic way of life in Dali. With Cangshan as your backdrop and the Three Pagodas as your mirror, mountains and rivers as your neighbors and poetry as your constant companion, this is an ideal abode where everyday life turns into a poem.

"There was a bit of an odor on the ground floor, and the drainage wasn't great. Also, people from outside could easily enter the hotel. However, the facilities were excellent, and the view was lovely. On the downside, the surrounding roads were a bit run-down. The service attitude was fantastic! We also had dinner at the hotel, which came with a discount, a complimentary travel photoshoot, and a handmade gift. The kids absolutely loved their stay."

"I had such a lovely stay at Mengjing Yayuan Hotel Dali. Everything about this hotel is beautiful, from the interior to the exterior, every corner feels thoughtfully designed and aesthetically pleasing. The ambience really adds to the whole Dali experience. The location is perfect. It’s right in Dali Ancient City, near the South Gate, so everything is within walking distance. For Muslim travellers, it’s also very convenient as there are halal food options nearby, making it easy to find meals. The service was truly top-notch. One thoughtful gesture that stood out was how they prepared breakfast for us during check-out, just to make sure we didn’t leave on an empty stomach. S uch a small detail, but it meant a lot. I’m really glad I chose to stay here, and I would definitely come back again if I visit Dali."

Hotel is located in the famous scenic spot –the erhai lake in Yunnan, back against the mountain, bit features , swallow erhai lake !A total area of 38867 square meters of modern luxury and comfortable environment and unique architectural style design, is an ideal place for guests relax , stimulate creativity . The hotel has259(sets)decoration luxury , elegant style, different function room. 24hours hot water; The world’s leading entrance guard system; The most advanced wireless network; The international direct-dial long-distance telephone; Mini bar. Private safe deposit box; Satellite TV on the horizon from soup nuts!

"Room facilities: The facilities feel a bit old, with some noticeable wear on the wooden elements. The room itself is mostly wood, which gives it an aged look. Some rooms have poor ventilation (when I first entered, the air felt stuffy, but after switching to a balcony room, the air quality improved significantly). The soundproofing is very good, especially in the balcony rooms – excellent sound insulation! Breakfast: I personally found it to be just okay, though they offered many local specialties like flower cakes, which were delicious. Other items were pretty standard. Bed: Quite comfortable, and the pillows were great – I slept very well. Cleanliness: The room was cleaned thoroughly, but the sofa and cushions showed significant wear and tear (pilling and stains), which I found a bit off-putting. Room view: This really depends on the weather. On a good day, the view is absolutely stunning! If the weather isn't great, the view is just average. Location/Transportation: Convenient. Service: The service was excellent, everyone was very welcoming and enthusiastic. Gym + Swimming Pool: Very good and definitely worth trying out. Value for money: Overall, if you're staying for the view, it really hinges on the weather (if the weather is bad, the value is just average). Room mini-bar: I wasn't particularly impressed with the drinks; they weren't to my taste. Bathroom odor: I personally felt the bathroom ventilation wasn't very good. However, they did give a nice farewell gift upon check-out, which was a lovely touch! 👍👍"

"Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but this place really surprised me (in a good way). First off, the breakfast – I’m not usually a big breakfast person, but I actually looked forward to it every morning. Huge selection, and everything was fresh. Pastries, eggs, fresh fruit, local dishes, you name it. Even my picky eater family member found something they liked. The staff were just genuinely nice. Not that fake “customer service” smile, but actually kind and helpful. One person at reception even remembered my room number when I asked for an extra key – small thing, but it stood out. The room was way bigger than I expected. We had space to spread out, which never happens in hotels. And it was clean – no weird smells or stained carpets. But the view – that was the real win. Woke up, opened the curtains, and just stood there for a minute. Best view I’ve had from a hotel, hands down. Would I stay again? Absolutely. Already recommended it to a friend."

"Overall, it's a great place! It's located on a slope, and the front desk upgraded us to a full sea-view room overlooking Erhai Lake. There's a restaurant nearby with good food, and for breakfast, you can choose between Chinese and Western options. It takes about 35 minutes to get to Dali Ancient City. Dream Island • Huo Mountain is a resort hotel that has grown from the red land, embodying the aesthetics of life, local culture, art, and architectural design. It is also a time vessel, the result of 12 years of dedication by its architect and owner, Baxun. Dream Island began in 2020 as a small-scale hotel next to the Erhai Lake, with just 7 rooms. In 2021, Dream Island • Huo Mountain briefly emerged with 9 rooms. After four years of reconstruction, it has now evolved into a vacation paradise rooted in the soul of the land, offering 23 rooms. This is not a cold, luxurious space, but rather an experiment in cultural awakening, artistic appreciation, and life healing.

"This hotel is perched over 2,700 meters high on a mountaintop, offering an exclusive and secluded escape. However, let me preface this with a warning: getting up and down the mountain involves a grueling 40-minute drive on winding roads, which is a real test of patience. You might also experience mild altitude sickness, though the hotel does provide oxygen tanks. The public areas are expansive, beautifully decorated, and stylish, with great attention to detail creating a wonderful ambiance. It's easy to snap some fantastic photos here. The panoramic views of Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake from the summit are indeed quite unique, and the in-room amenities and soft furnishings are certainly worthy of the price. BUT!! There's no TV in the room, and the hotel doesn't offer any recreational activities, which can make a stay feel a bit dull and boring. While it promotes itself as a tranquil retreat, most guests are actually there just for photoshoots, creating a somewhat disjointed and awkward atmosphere. Furthermore, there are no external facilities on the mountain, so all three meals must be taken at the hotel restaurant. The dining is not great value for money; ordering just four or five dishes can easily cost nearly a thousand yuan, and the taste frankly doesn't justify the price. The Chinese cuisine is slightly better than the Western options. Breakfast has limited variety and ordinary taste, making for a very mediocre experience. Overall, if you're solely looking to experience the unparalleled mountaintop scenery, you might enjoy it, but don't go with high expectations. While it's hyped online as a top-tier hotel in Dali, my actual experience suggests there's significant room for improvement."

"Traveling with my child, we skipped the crowded Old Town in Dali and found a hidden gem instead. Just a seven-minute drive from the Old Town, we stumbled upon the gentle embrace of Yue Shanhai – nestled by the mountains with a view of the sea. Directly accessible via National Highway 214, it's a secluded paradise where even the wind seems to linger. You don't need to go all the way to Kyoto; their garden is already overflowing with romance. Sparse greenery, blossoming paths, and the elegance of a dry landscape garden blend seamlessly with Bai ethnic style. Every step feels like walking through a poem. Strolling with my child, even time seemed to slow down. We stayed in a two-story courtyard suite. Opening the window revealed the mountains, and closing the door, we could hear the wind, cherishing every moment of our family time. The hotel lobby is spacious and elegant. The sweet scent of afternoon tea lingered, and while I sipped a refreshing drink, my child chased after the floral fragrance. This is what perfect travel looks like. The sunrise was the biggest surprise! No need to brave the cold by Erhai Lake; the third-floor terrace offered a complete panoramic view. The morning light pierced through the clouds, illuminating the outline of Cangshan Mountain and splashing across the turquoise waters of Erhai. Wrapped in the warm glow, we took photos before heading downstairs for a hearty breakfast, feeling a warmth spread through our hearts. With the wind carrying floral scents and the mountains holding simple joys, staying with my child between the mountains and the sea, I finally understood the meaning of travel: planting gentleness and beauty into each other's time. #DaliYueShanhaiResort #DaliYueShanhaiBanshanVillaLuxuryHotel #DaliFamilyTravel #DaliTravelGuide #DaliHiddenFlowerSpots #CangshanErhai #DaliHotelRecommendation #KyotoStyleGarden #DaliLongStay #DaliOffTheBeatenPath"

"Wow, this is the only hotel I've ever stayed at that truly delivered exceptional value for money. It was absolutely fantastic, with incredible attention to detail, and I absolutely adored the room type! The front desk staff provided impeccable service; they even had the air conditioning turned on in our room before we arrived, which was incredibly thoughtful, especially given how hot summer can get. The afternoon tea was also incredibly generous and clearly prepared with great care. And the turndown service was excellent. Honestly, everything was just superb, beyond words. It was better than many hotels that cost thousands more!"

"The location is excellent – quiet yet not remote. It's right by Cang'er Avenue, where many people stop to take photos. A bit further down is Dali University, surrounded by lots of great restaurants, organic and eco-friendly shops, and coffee roasters. The hotel service was superb from the moment we arrived. The staff were attentive and gentle during check-in, helped with our luggage, and even arranged a car to take us to the Ancient City. The front desk also had many personal amenities, which was a thoughtful touch. The succulents in the garden were thriving, and they even had adorable bunnies! We especially loved a large tree in the garden and enjoyed a therapeutic tree-hugging experience. They offer free use of ethnic costumes and shawls, perfect for photos without needing to buy anything, which was very convenient. Afternoon tea in the courtyard was delightful. Sitting in the sun with a gentle breeze, all my worries just melted away. I also took many vibrant, sun-drenched photos. Our room was spacious and very clean. The bathroom fixtures were all Kohler, and the toiletries were comprehensive, including disposable face towels and a very comfortable comb that didn't scratch my scalp. The breakfast offered a mix of Western and Chinese dishes, and the rice noodles were better than those outside. Overall, it was a comfortable and reassuring stay."

The breakfast was abundant, the afternoon tea was lovely, and the complimentary fruit and sweet soup at night were a nice touch. The hotel pays great attention to detail! GGuest UserOur overall stay was incredibly surprising and gets a full recommendation! The B&B's location is excellent, though the surrounding roads are quite narrow, making transportation a bit inconvenient. However, the owner thoughtfully provides complimentary shuttle service for trips to dinner, daily outings, and airport transfers, so getting around was never a concern. The service at this B&B is absolutely top-notch. The staff are gentle and patient, always willing to help, and their attention to detail is truly heartwarming. They kindly offer afternoon tea and a soothing bedtime dessert soup daily, both exquisite and comforting. Breakfast is different every day; we had Chinese on the first day and Western on the second. The special rice noodles were flavorful, though my only minor complaint is that there wasn't much broth. The complimentary dried plums in the lobby were delicious – I even packed some to take home as a souvenir. While the guest rooms are compact, they are well-appointed with all the necessary facilities, offering a very comfortable stay. The only small drawback was that the wooden door lock was a bit tricky to operate. Cleanliness was exceptional; the rooms were meticulously cleaned with no overlooked corners. Upon checkout, we were thoughtfully given flower cakes and a custom cloth bag, showcasing their incredible attention to detail. Our entire stay was relaxing and therapeutic, making this an excellent choice for a stay in Dali. The complimentary travel photos were also lovely, but it's a shame there wasn't a package deal, as 50 RMB for one retouched photo felt a bit pricey.

GGuest UserThis hotel, though small, is incredibly charming. Staying here felt like stepping back into an old house from the Republic of China era. The details are very high-quality, and you can really feel the thoughtful design. It's located in a quiet corner of the old city, making it convenient to get everywhere. Both the afternoon tea and breakfast were exquisite and offered a wide variety, making them well worth the price alone! The service was also exceptionally attentive; the front desk lady helped me carry my very heavy luggage up and down, which I felt terrible about. I just hope the owner hires a couple of strong people to help the ladies out, and I wish them all the best!

The hotel's location is also excellent, making it convenient to get to the airport, high-speed rail, and major attractions. There are many restaurants downstairs. 2. There's a complimentary late-night snack every day, and rice noodles are available all day. The fridge is stocked with various beverages, and the room comes with a tea set, tea table, and coffee machine. A basket of fresh fruit is provided daily – more than you can possibly eat! 5. QQingtianThis has to be the most satisfying guesthouse I've ever stayed at. The environment is beautiful, the views are stunning, and it's located in the famous Wenbi Village. Just look at the pictures to see how gorgeous it is – I took them from my room! And it wasn't even perfectly sunny when I was there, otherwise it would have been even more breathtaking, so I'll definitely be back for another stay when the weather's good. The service deserves a special shout-out. From check-in until we returned around midnight every night, we were well taken care of. There's parking available, and you just need to notify the front desk to unlock the barrier. Every single person, from the house manager to the service staff, never complained and were always quick to assist us. They also brought us afternoon tea and white fungus soup every day and night. The afternoon tea included cake, snacks, a fruit platter, and yogurt. Plus, they offer one free pickup/drop-off service to the train station or airport – just book in advance, it's so convenient! The room facilities are brand new, and the hygiene is absolutely impeccable. I'm quite a clean freak, and I couldn't find a single flaw. All in all, I'm incredibly satisfied, even a little touched. I feel they work so hard and are so kind, making our trip both reassuring and joyful. A huge thank you, I will definitely be going back!

AAnonymous User1. **Check-in Area:** The check-in counter, or front desk, was quite shabby. The computer keyboard was practically caked in grime, and don't even get me started on the sofa next to it – it looked very unhygienic. 2. **Dining:** The breakfast area was a bit cramped, with just four small tables by the street. If you're a party of more than two, you'd have to sit separately, or you might even have to stand and wait for a table. The coffee, however, was good. I only had breakfast once: a cold quinoa salad (see Photo 6) served with bread that had an overpowering artificial creamer flavor. I had been looking forward to the rice noodles for the next day, but serving didn't start until 8:30 AM, which was far too late for my rumbling stomach. Early risers and those who prefer hot meals should seriously consider other options or make alternative arrangements. 3. **Room (2nd floor) - Noise Issues:** Don't even think about getting any sleep at night. After 11 PM, there was still noise along the street, along with the clanging of the garbage truck. (Seriously, I'd strongly advise against staying in the Old Town.) The next day, it started pouring before dawn, and the sound of the heavy rain kept me awake as well. 4. **Room - Facility Issues:** The room I stayed in was supposedly the quietest in the entire hotel. It featured a large bathtub and a bathroom where the toilet and shower area lacked wet/dry separation. Unable to deal with the wet floor, I decided to shower in the bathtub. That's when I discovered Problem #1: the glass partition was completely transparent, with no curtain or frosted glass. The staff member claimed this was 'design.' Then came Fatal Problem #2: the bathtub had no running water, haha! 😄 5. **Room - Odor Issues:** Upon entering, there was a strong musty smell. The staff claimed it was due to 'raw wood,' but it's been 8 years and it still smells like that? Quite amusing. 6. **Staff (Pre-Check-in):** Before I even checked in, they asked me to cancel my booking on the platform and pay them privately for a discounted rate. I have this in writing. This is definitely a huge red flag, and I'm surprised they even dared to suggest it. 7. **Staff (General):** The individuals themselves were nice enough, but I was surprised to find that all the 'Jixiashan' staff were quite young, without uniforms, and seemingly without direct supervision, which gave a very disorganized and casual impression. 8. **Housekeeping:** I was quite satisfied with the housekeeping. Seeing the clean duvet and towels gave me peace of mind (P.S. the pillows were also comfortable). The hotel's facilities are very old; no matter how clean the bathroom tiles were, they still looked run-down, compounded by the dim lighting. Therefore, I feel the housekeeping staff here really have a tough job. 9. **Building Structure:** One morning, during a heavy downpour, when I opened my 2nd-floor room door, the entrance was essentially flooded up to my heels. It was quite a feat that the water didn't spread into the room. At night, there were no lights, so I had to grope my way back to the room along the dark corridor. It would be quite difficult for someone who doesn't remember their way (see Photos 1-2). 10. **Hotel Amenities:** One night, I heard the guest next door return, unable to open their door with the key, and had to call a staff member for help. They chatted for a bit outside the door before the staff member finally told the guest a 'trick': 'The key needs to be inserted a certain way, and the lock has a particular mechanism...' That's quite a struggle – needing a special technique just to get back to your room! 11. **Minor Details:** The room key had a very large, bulky leather tag attached to it. Absolutely no consideration for travelers on long journeys with limited luggage space. Who would want to carry such a bulky thing around? I originally had high hopes for the 'Jixiashan' brand. When I was in Shangri-La, I heard their Meili store had a collaboration with Kolon, which made me think they had good taste. This Dali Ancient City location is their first store, but it turned out to be such a low standard. Given the daily rate, I guess I understand why. This particular store cannot be found on 'Jixiashan's' mini-program; it's categorized under 'Wang Shenme Chuan Qu Le'.

CcharlottemomoThis past May Day holiday, I brought my family to Dali for a vacation ⛱️ and chose this South France-style guesthouse located in Haidong, where we stayed for 5 days. From the moment our trip approached, the guesthouse thoughtfully set up a chat group with a butler who updated us on the weather and reminded us to pack appropriate clothes. Upon arrival, they helped us with our luggage and kindly informed us about afternoon tea 🫖 and late-night dessert 🍮 times, which was very considerate. The guesthouse is located in Wenbi Village, a popular spot recently, and it's not too far from the airport, making the location quite convenient. Since the village is on a hill and parking spaces are scarce, the guesthouse arranged for our rental car to be parked at a nearby resident's lot and provided a shuttle service for transfers. Traveling with a child this time, his favorite part was the large bathtub. Every evening, he eagerly looked forward to a milk bubble bath 🫧, and he also loved the Basque cheesecake for afternoon tea 🍰. If I were to offer some suggestions, it would be to provide baby slippers, toothbrushes, and toothpaste for rooms with children. Perhaps also offer some parent-child interactive activities, like making flower cakes, which would be an even nicer touch. Also, the breakfast could be a bit more varied; after staying for several days, it got a little repetitive, haha. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay!

Facilities: The room is spacious, but maintenance details could be improved. Hygiene: Balcony and window sill corners need attention, and the air freshener smells a bit cheap.

GGuest UserThis hotel is perfectly situated in Shuanglang, right on the waterfront with breathtaking views of Erhai Lake from its terrace. The butler service was incredibly attentive and prompt. They offer afternoon tea, evening sweet soup, and a very well-stocked minibar. We also received complimentary fruit and airport pick-up. Although there was a minor hiccup after check-in, the hotel quickly resolved it, which didn't affect our overall experience. Most importantly, it was very quiet at night, which is crucial for someone like me who has trouble sleeping.
