"The hotel's location is right by the Nile, which is great for enjoying river views during breakfast. Other than that, the location doesn't really offer any advantages.
**Hygiene**: This is where I have to complain. The chairs and table on the balcony were covered in dust, and the carpet had a slight, localized foot odor (which I noticed when I squatted down to pack my luggage).
**Facilities**: Quite old-fashioned, like those outdated 4- or 5-star hotels in China from ten years ago. There were no toothbrushes or combs. Also, no disposable bath bags for the bathtub, and the hairdryer was really poor.
**Service**: Thankfully, the service was warm and attentive. Overall, I paid a four-figure price for an old 5-star hotel that felt more like a guesthouse in terms of amenities. It didn't feel worth the price; for a bit less, I could have just booked a guesthouse with character, or for a bit more, I could have stayed at a much better hotel. Oh, and the pool-facing room was noisy if you didn't close the door, as it faced the road."
