I'm worried about the footprints in the hallway and the sound of the door when I'm sleeping.
I don't know if it's the thickness of the wall, but I feel that the room is beautiful and it's a waste. I think the quality will rise further.
It was very beautiful and very good though it was cheap.
I stayed in a hurry, but I was able to check in smoothly by politely teaching. The water pressure in the shower was perfect, and the toilet had a washlet, which was the same as an ordinary hotel. Also, one lunch box was included for each person. It was delicious. Amenities were also substantial, and there were washing machines and vending machines. I will use it again.
The interior has been renovated and is beautiful. It's also reasonably priced at around 4,000 yen.
The room is equipped with a card key, and the bathroom was clean.
There's an escalator from the entrance up to the front desk.
There's a Don Quijote (pictured) on the street behind it, so it's very convenient.
You can watch YouTube on the TV.
They also provide luggage storage.
There are plenty of amenities available.
I am impressed by their memory foam pillow. I had a very good sleep.
Car parks get full easily but reception will divert you to the parking nearby
Facilities is a bit dated but you get what you pay.
Amazing location with spectacular view of aoshima. 3 mins walk to the beach, 10 mins to aoshima shrine. Bus stop to sun messe and udo shrine is right outside of the hostel. Value for money. Very good customer service. Gave guest a room tour on arrival. Female dormitory available with a separate key to lock the door and guest can use their locker. Feel very safe and secure. All the facilities are very clean and well maintained. The hostel also comes with onsen at 700 yen per admission. This is not related to the hostel but a tips for travelling. Dinner is tricky at Aoshima because almost all restaurants would require reservation. Book early.
The hotel is located at central downtown, it was noisy at night time with busy traffic and people talked loud on the street. The cooler only set to warm forcibly so it was hot, however the hotel is acceptable overall !
Cleaning is also nice and neat. However, the sound insulation is a bit weak. We had a hard time being careful because we could hear everything the guests in the next room were saying. The front desk staff are all friendly.
The huge hotel looks like a gathering place for business meetings. The hotel offers a variety of dining options, and it is said that there is a Japanese restaurant that is very difficult to book (but it only serves adults, so I passed it this time). However, I went to another teppanyaki restaurant, where the service and food quality were both excellent.
The scenery is beautiful, the rooms are large, the hotel seems to have hundreds of rooms, and upstairs is a more upscale hotel in the same group.
There are many rooms and guests, which means that many people come to take a hot spring bath. However, the hot spring area of this hotel is quite large (the walking time is also quite long, so children should dress warmly in winter).
The location is good because it is close to Miyazaki Phoenix Zoo, but the zoo is relatively small and can be visited in about an hour. It may take a little longer to experience the childhood amusement rides.
The room cannot open large luggage. This is the basic size of Japanese hotels. The cleanliness of the hotel is very satisfactory. The front desk staff is very polite. The hotel has its own parking, which is very convenient. There are many restaurants nearby. It is a hotel recommended by Miyazaki City.

MMaria FlinkWhen I saw where the hotel was located, I immediately knew that I wanted to stay there because I dreamed of seeing Amanoiwato Jinja. I went to the cave twice, in the morning and in the evening, there is a very beautiful road, and it only takes about 20 minutes to walk. It is also easy to get to Takachiho Gorge, the bus stop is a couple of minutes from the hotel.
This was my first experience of staying in a traditional hotel in Japan, and I really liked everything. Delicious dinner and breakfast - I tried a traditional kaiseki dinner, and it was an amazing experience. Attentive, caring hotel staff, perfect cleanliness everywhere, amazing mountain air. Natural wood in the room decoration creates a feeling of warmth and comfort. In the bathroom, you can try Japanese cosmetics. In the evening, you can drink tea, sitting in a comfortable chair with a book. At first, the silence around is unusual, but for us, city dwellers, it is necessary. Since it is dark around, you can see the starry sky - you will not see this in the city. There is a free shuttle from the hotel to the traditional Yokagura show in the evening. For someone interested in mythology, this was very interesting.
I did not get the hang of the hot tub right away and I still feel awkward about it, and I forgot to mention that I am allergic to onions, but it is my fault for forgetting to mention it.
I would highly recommend the Ryokan Iwatoya, it was an amazing experience.
TTatianaK.From the bottom of my heart, I’d like to thank all staff of the hotel. My 11-old son and I stayed there for just one night, because we were on our way to visit gorgeous Toungenkyu hydrangeas park in the other town, so we chose to stay in Hyugashi, and that was definitely the right decision! I didn’t know that there was no public transportation assess to the park, because it’s located far upon to the mountains. But I never give up So, I decided to get to the park by hitchhiking! And one of kind managers of the hotel wrote the name of the park in Japanese characters on a big sheet of paper to be seen from far apart for drivers. Besides, he told us where it could be possible to stop a car. So we did it! First, we went to the nearest town by train, and tried the hitching there. There was a nice lady who took us to the park and back to Hyugashi, we were so grateful to her!!! The local people were kind to us everywhere whenever it was a restaurant or a station. We will never forget the kindness of the local people!!!
We liked that izakaya on the first floor in the building. Moreover, we liked that nice quiet town Hyugashi because of its people! We wish you all the best!!!
MMeiDeeFriendly staff and clean lodging.
We booked half board which was worthwhile as the food quality was great and especially when restaurants close early within the area, saved us looking for dinner. However, there are a few time slots we need to abide to, which is fine as attractions usually are closed by late afternoon anyway.
There is onsen in this accommodation, but it's not big. Enclosed onsen with no external views, and the water has some medical component added thus making the water reddish which may deter guests not accustomed to the color.
The Ryokan location is convenient for walking to a few attractions (for those who enjoy walking about 15-30mins to either attraction), which include Takachiho Kagura performance (pre-booking required), Takachiho Gorge, Takachiho Amaterasu Railway - scenic train ride.
Do note the train rides cannot be pre-booked, and end by 3PM in the afternoon.
And Takachiho Gorge Boat Rental should be pre-booked, with time slot bookings open 7 days before.
GGuest UserStayed one night, location is a bit isolated in terms of restaurants and things to do. Definitely an outdated hotel and could do with a renovation, however the room was definitely very large for Japanese standards so the was a plus!(superior queen). If self driving there is a multistory carpark right behind hotel so that’s also a plus.
ヤヤンイーランIt's about 10 minutes away from the city. The location is not great, but the hospitality is excellent and the hotel thinks about the details of its guests. The lounge area from the large public bath and the free drinks there are great, so you can relax and take your time. I think it's worth staying an night just for this hotel. I wish they could extend the bath time a little more in the morning.
__WeChat46898****First of all, I want to thank Ctrip. At the beginning, due to personal reasons, I changed the itinerary from three nights to two nights. Ctrip has been helping to follow up and solve the problem, although the change was not successful at first. After arriving at the local area, I explained the situation to the hotel and asked to check out in advance. The hotel also agreed and said that they would refund me through the agent. Then I continued to contact Ctrip. Although the agent responded very slowly, Ctrip contacted me almost every day to explain the reason and solve the problem as quickly as possible. In the end, I also successfully got a refund. Thank you Ctrip for following up in the past few weeks.
The hotel itself is also very cost-effective. You can stay in a Japanese-style room for more than 300 yuan, including buffet breakfast and hot springs. It is very comfortable to relax.
__M1381950****This hotel is centrally located on a main road, yet it's clean and quiet. The decor is new and lovely. They offer breakfast and complimentary drinking water, and the service is great. There are plenty of dining and shopping options, as well as convenience stores nearby, making it very convenient for tourists. It's definitely the top choice for a first-time visit to Miyazaki.

JJujuliabeiThis hotel's rooms are definitely a weakness, but the service and amenities are surprisingly good. No wonder the front desk mentioned at check-in that they've been ranked number one in Japan for customer satisfaction for the past few years. The canteen has everything you could want, and in the evenings, they offer a wide variety of drinks, including complimentary sake. Children can make their own shaved ice, and if they're hungry, they can enjoy chazuke (tea porridge) or curry and raw egg rice. The morning menu is also quite varied, and you can even make your own soba noodles. While the onsen is small, it's thoughtfully equipped with a spacious powder room for ladies, complete with skincare products, a hairdryer, and a hair straightener. We were initially a little disappointed with the small room, but these amenities instantly boosted our satisfaction. If you're passing through Miyazaki for a night, I highly recommend this hotel, and transportation is also very convenient. While it's located near izakayas and pubs, it's recommended to avoid children at night. The hotel itself is very safe.
TTuckFattCleanliness suffered because there was a sewage stench in the room. After the hotel rectification, there was still a faint smell. It became not noticeable after we switched off the bathroom ventilation. The hotel did call post rectification to check on the condition, hence I gave it a 5 for service.
