Contemporary Art at Wat Pariwas, Rama 3

Wat Pariwas Ratchasongkram, located in the Rama 3 area, is renowned for its beautiful temple. The art around the temple is incredibly detailed and blends contemporary elements seamlessly. The temple closes at 6:00 PM. Inside, there is a principal Buddha image from the Sukhothai period, which is 700 years old and very beautiful. Wat Pariwas Ratchasongkram is an ancient temple built in the early Rattanakosin period. Evidence of this is a gold plaque inscribed with details. It states that when Luang Por Wong renovated the chedi in front of the ordination hall, with the help of Phra Ajarn Somchai Chansaro, they discovered a gold plaque inscribed with the name of the chedi's creator. The plaque, found in the upper part of the 'bell neck' of the chedi, indicates that Yai Muang built the chedi in 1878, during the reign of King Chulalongkorn. Although not a royal temple, it is a large temple comprising an ordination hall, a vihara, and a great chedi. The monks' living quarters are adjacent to the Chao Phraya River, making transportation convenient. In the past, rivers and canals were used for travel, but now Rama 3 Road is the main route.
