Wat Klang, the first royal temple in Buriram Province

History tells that during the Thonburi period, Chao Phraya Mahakasat Suek (King Buddha Yodfa Chulalok the Great) led an army to suppress the rebel ruler of Nang Rong and stopped his army at this area, where there was a large pond that was 3,000 years old. It is currently believed to be a sacred pond in Wat Klang Buriram. 🔸 Later, during the reign of King Rama V, he was graciously promoted to the status of the first third-class royal temple in Buriram Province and gave it a new name, "Wat Klang". The main chapel has been renovated many times, but the principal Buddha image is still the same. It is in the Mara-Vijaya posture. It is said that it has the power of mercy in asking for children and giving good fortune.
