Wat Pa Klang (Wat Machimawat), Chiang Khan Pray for wealth and prosperity in business, exams and education Wat Pa Klang or Wat Machimawat is an important temple in Chiang Khan District, Loei Province. It has an interesting history as follows: * Merging of temples: * Originally, there were two small temples in this area: "Wat Klang", located on the banks of the Mekong River, and "Wat Pa". * Later in 1923, Wat Klang was damaged by erosion of the riverbank, so the villagers merged the two temples together and called it "Wat Pa Klang". * Later, during the reign of Phra Maha Kiat Wutthisaro, the temple's name was changed to "Wat Machimaram", but the people of Chiang Khan still generally call it "Wat Pa Klang". * History: * This temple is considered an ancient temple that has been in Chiang Khan for more than 200 years. * It is assumed that it was built in 1852 by Phra Si Arkhahadu.
