Climbed Munjangdae at Songnisan

#summervacayOkay, so I somehow convinced myself to hike up to Munjangdae Peak at Songnisan, 1,054 meters of “why am I doing this” followed by “ohhh okay, this is worth it.” The trail starts out nice and friendly, then suddenly it’s like, stairs... rocks... more stairs... and your legs start questioning life choices. But the forest is beautiful, like straight out of a fantasy movie. Super quiet, just birds and your own wheezing (lol). Right before the peak, there’s this intense rock section where you're basically climbing up with railings and praying a little. But then you hit the top and BAM—ridiculous views. Mountains for days, clouds doing their thing, and this peaceful temple-looking structure that makes you feel like a wise mountain monk. I sat up there, sweaty and proud, snacking on trail mix like it was a feast. Totally epic. If you're up for a little suffering with a big payoff, Munjangdae’s got you. Just bring water… and maybe a second pair of legs.
