Kkomdak Kalguksu

Kkomdak Kalguksu offers a variety of dishes such as chicken kalguksu (knife-cut noodles), chicken soup, half-roll kimbap, and Kkoko ramen. In the evening, they also prepare various dishes that pair well with alcohol. On the day I visited, I ordered chicken kalguksu and half-roll kimbap for lunch. The broth was rich and flavorful, and the kimbap suited my taste perfectly. The side dishes, including kimchi and stir-fried squid, were satisfying as well. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great restaurant on the west side of Jeju Island. Kkomdak Kalguksu is located across the street from Dori Elementary School, about a 1-2 minute drive from Ihoteu Beach. It operates from 10:30 AM to 10:00 PM every day except Sundays. The restaurant has tables that can accommodate groups. The menu includes chicken kalguksu, chicken soup, half-roll kimbap, Kkoko ramen, and Ginyang ramen. For alcohol pairings, they offer stir-fried eel, stir-fried chicken thigh, stir-fried chicken gizzards, fried chicken wings, and fried chicken neck. Delivery and takeout are available through Baedal Minjok, making it a convenient option for travelers staying at accommodations. The interior has additional tables, so even during busy hours, you can dine without waiting. If you want more of the basic side dishes, you can use the self-service corner. The kalguksu is generously filled with thick-cut chicken pieces. Adding all the chili peppers provided as a side enhances the broth's rich and spicy flavor. The broth itself is thick and hearty, and the noodles are perfectly cooked, offering a soft texture. Among the chicken kalguksu I've tried recently, this was my favorite. The half-roll kimbap consists of five pieces and is served with seasoned stir-fried fish cakes. The thick kimbap includes various ingredients, such as tofu skin, and remains as delicious as the signature menu from the Kkomdak barbecue restaurant I visited before. It pairs well with the stir-fried fish cakes.
