Wat Sri Chum, the largest Burmese-style temple in Thailand

It is a Burmese-style temple built in 1893 by a Burmese tycoon who accompanied the British to work in forestry in Thailand. When he became wealthy and wanted to make merit, he built Wat Sri Chum in the area where the temple used to be. However, it was a small temple with only a pavilion, a pond, and a Bodhi tree. It was named Nyong Wai Chong in Burmese. All wood from the Burmese forest was used in the construction of the temple. 🙏Wat Sri Chum is considered a Burmese temple that is complete. It has a chapel, an ordination hall, a pagoda, a monk's residence, and a door arch, all in Burmese art. It is considered the largest Burmese temple out of 31 Burmese temples in Thailand. 🏰The chapel is a half-timbered building in Burmese art. The roof is made of pointed wooden structures, beautifully carved in seven layers. The top floor is decorated with a golden umbrella. There are staircases on both sides, decorated with carved wood in floral patterns, lacquered and gilded. There are Burmese dolls alternating with vine patterns. The gable is decorated with floral patterns. Decorated with stained glass, each ceiling is decorated with unique carved dolls. 🏰 The interior decoration art is a combination of Lanna and Burmese art. There are murals of the life of the Buddha and a model of the temple's plan. 🏰 The principal Buddha image in the chapel is a Burmese-style Buddha image in the Mara-Vijaya posture, sitting cross-legged, with a low forehead, flat face, arched eyebrows, a ridged nose, a smiling mouth, a swan, long ears and slightly curved to the shoulders, fine hair, wide hairline, wearing a robe that drops off the shoulders, but with a cloth on both the left and right shoulders. 🏰 The ordination hall is located in the southeast of the temple. It is surrounded by a glass wall. The entrance is an archway made of brick and mortar. The roof is stacked in three layers. The ordination hall in Burmese art is a square with recessed corners. There are four porches. The roof is in the shape of a seven-tiered castle. The top is decorated with a golden umbrella. The eaves of each tier of the roof are decorated with metal fretwork. The four porches have five layers of stacked roofs. Inside is a Burmese-style Buddha statue. 🏰 A golden chedi, round, made of brick and mortar in Burmese style. The bell-shaped neck has stucco patterns.
