Wat Yansane "Twelve-Cornered Pagoda"

Wat Yan Sen is an ancient temple where monks reside today. It was originally called Wat Yanusen and was built around 1920, during the early Ayutthaya period. It received the royal charter of the boundary markers in 1930. Unfortunately, no one knows its origins or the legend of the temple's construction. There is only documentary evidence that a canal or waterway was built under the walls of Wat Yan Sen to draw water from the Lop Buri River under the walls, through the Pa Takua Road to the dug canal, from the dug canal to the Phra Ram pond, so that Phra Ram pond always has clean water. This waterway is called 'Maha Thera Mai Chae Canal' When time passed, the canal under the wall was buried until it could no longer be used as a waterway. #wattosann
