After a brief conversation, I was upgraded from a standard room to a luxurious suite on the 38th executive floor with stunning views of Shanghai's iconic "Three Pieces" skyline. During my stay, there was a flash promotion, and I received an extra 2,000 points. The welcome amenities were plentiful—I got points, breakfast, and fruit, totaling 4,000 points in rewards, which was an incredible deal. 🧹 Soundproofing/cleanliness: The hotel has been open for a while, and some hardware facilities show signs of aging, such as slight stains on the carpets. Soundproofing was average, with no major disturbances under normal circumstances. However, on the night of my stay, there was a dripping issue in one corner of the room. Although it was promptly resolved without affecting my rest, it highlighted the need for better maintenance. 🏘️ Room type/layout features: The suite had a retro-luxury vibe, exuding an "old money" charm. Though it had only one bathroom, the space was spacious. The layout between the living room and bedroom was well-planned, and the office area had a comfortable chair, making long work sessions fatigue-free. The bathroom design retained classic St. Regis elements, adding a unique touch. 🛌 Amenities/facilities: The gym on the 5th floor was spacious with a good variety of strength-training equipment, though some machines showed their age but remained functional. The pool was relatively small, with coaching sessions in the afternoon. Notably, the lounge and breakfast were currently served at the first-floor restaurant. The dinner buffet had a wide selection of dishes catering to popular tastes, along with diverse drink options. Breakfast was slightly limited but covered the basics. 💰 Average cost: Base room rate was ¥650 per night. 💗 Other thoughtful touches: The hotel is located in the heart of Century Avenue in Pudong, adjacent to Century Avenue Metro Station (a 4-line interchange) and Xiangcheng Road Station (Line 4). The surrounding area is bustling with commercial activity, and Century Link Mall is just steps away, making shopping, dining, and transportation extremely convenient. Additionally, the staff were warm and friendly, especially the lounge attendants, whose hospitality enhanced the overall experience despite the slightly dated facilities. It's worth noting that the hotel is reportedly planning a renovation soon, so a refreshed upgrade may be on the horizon—something to look forward to!
