The hot springs at Manzatei

Manza Onsen boasts some of the highest concentrations of sulfur springs in Japan, and Manzatei is no exception, where you can enjoy very strong sulfur springs. In addition to the large public baths for men and women, there are also private baths available for hire by time. The small bath in the photo is a private bath. As you can see, the water is milky white and has a strong sulfur smell. When you first soak in the water, you can feel the ingredients so strong that it hurts.
