Wugong City God Temple in Shaanxi

The Wugong City God Temple covers an area of 4500 square meters, and the date of its initial construction is unknown. According to the remaining inscriptions, it was rebuilt in the 41st year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1613). The existing buildings include the archway, mountain gate, east and west side halls, bell and drum tower, offering hall, main hall, and sleeping hall, and the overall architecture still retains the style of the Ming Dynasty. The offering hall is in the form of a scroll shed, and the main hall and sleeping hall are in the form of a resting mountain, all of which are five bays wide, with yellow glazed tiles covering the roof, and the ridge is in the form of a diamond flower dragon, with fine woodwork brackets. The brick carvings, stone carvings, wood carvings, glazed reliefs and colored paintings are all exquisite in craftsmanship, highly appreciable and of research value, and can be called the treasures of ancient Chinese architecture. It is a key cultural relic protection unit in China.
