Jieguan Pavilion in Dianshan Village was built during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty. The ancestor of the Liao family in the village, Liao Wenzheng, went to the capital in the 15th year of the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty and became the top scorer in the geography exam. He was appointed as a doctor of the Imperial Astronomical Bureau and was ordered to repair the Ming Tombs, including the Changling, Xianling, Jingling, Yuling, Maoling, Tailong, Kangling, and Qiling. In the 18th year of the Jiajing period, he was ordered to repair the Yellow River and open the Grand Canal. He made outstanding achievements and was rewarded with a half set of imperial carriages and a gold plaque with the words "Enming Chongguang" by the emperor. In July of the same year, the emperor also gave him a couplet: "During the day, I respectfully receive three favors, and I am honored to be bathed in the ninefold grace of the imperial edict." In the 21st year of the Jiajing period, the Minister of History inscribed a plaque with the words "Shi Taishi Di" and the Minister of the Three Mountains, Huang Jing, gave him a couplet: "The Tang and Song dynasties conferred titles on generations of loyal and meritorious officials, and the Yuan and Ming dynasties bestowed grace on the people, year after year, in the spring and autumn." Wenzheng retired and returned to his hometown to build this public hall, named Jieguan Pavilion, which is shaped like a tiger and stands in the direction of Xu Chen and Qian Xun. For several generations, Wenzheng's family was appointed to the Imperial Astronomical Bureau, and Jieguan Pavilion was resplendent with gold and jade. Over the past 400 years, it has experienced the vicissitudes of time. In 1968, during the Cultural Revolution, the original appearance was completely destroyed. In 2018, the descendants of the Liao family raised funds to repair Jieguan Pavilion and built a memorial hall for the Feng Shui master Liao Wenzheng on the right side. It is a key cultural relic protection unit in Xingguo County.
