2023 Gyeongju, South Korea 2-day itinerary sharing
Transportation Tips - KTX, Bus
Local attractions - Dalingyuan, Liangdong Village, Wild Goose and Duck Pond
Hotel - Rivertain Hotel Gyeongju
Food & Restaurants - Shu Ying Canteen
First time to Korea #travel alone, besides Seoul, I wanted to see some special attractions, so I finally chose Gyeongju.
From Seoul Station, take the 2-hour K T
It was afternoon when we arrived. Seeing that there are many bicycle rental shops nearby, I rented a bicycle to travel around the city. Don’t want to ride a bike? You can take bus No. 10 and No. 11; there are many electric scooters nearby. I'll try to rent them next time. 🤩
Dalingyuan
It is the cemetery where the Silla king, concubines, and nobles are buried. There are several small hills in the park, which are somewhat different from the Chinese cemetery design. The common point is the beautiful mountains and clear waters.
Cheomsungdae
Very close to Daling Court, 5 minutes by bike. The star platform is an ancient celestial platform used to observe the stars. I saw a field of rapeseed flowers along the way, so I immediately rushed in to take pictures and check in. It was super touching. 🥰🥰
Gyeongju School Village
About 10 minutes bike 🚴♀️ drive to Gyeongju School Village. The school village includes the ancient house and village school of the ancient noble family, most of which have been converted into snack shops and specialty shops, where visitors can experience activities such as making year cakes.
Moon Spirit Bridge
A 5-minute walk from the school village to the Moonlight Bridge, very ancient architectural features.
The wild goose and duck pond
Also known as "East Palace and Moon Pool", it is the place where the crown prince and heir to the throne live. More tourists, it turns out everyone is "caught" in the hospital at night. 👍🙌
Some of the above attractions require an entrance fee, mostly about HK$20, which is worth it.
If you want to treat your stomach, you can try the famous "Shu Ying Canteen" near Tai Ling Yuen. The house was carefully subdivided into several rooms and ordered a set of very traditional Korean dishes. The big sauce soup is salty, but very tasty. The price is not expensive, under HK$100. Arrive early and enjoy early. To sweep the streets, you can visit Gyeongju Central Market, which is much smaller than the market in Seoul. Instead, there is a street near Daling Court with many restaurants and hipster shops. It is easy to find food there. 👍
accommodation:
There are many hotels and restaurants near the old Gyeongju Station. For example, the Rivertain Hotel Gyeongju hotel is not expensive, the interior is quite beautiful, and great value for money.
As for the second day of the itinerary, you can take a bus to visit the Buddhist temple, the world-famous Liangdong Village, etc., play for a day, report next time. This trip to Gyeongju was very happy, feeling like I went to Karuizawa, because the attractions are very close, but each has its own characteristics, if it is cherry blossom or autumn leaf season, more beautiful. ❤️❤️
At first I thought Gyeongju was an unpopular tourist spot, but it turns out that the entire area has been listed as a "World Cultural Heritage". Many foreigners like to come, maybe because we have watched too many Korean dramas in recent years. 🤩🤩
