Service: As expected from a long-standing hotel, the service was excellent. From the concierge to the restaurant staff, everyone was well-trained, professional, and always smiling. If there was a window seat available, the restaurant host would proactively guide us there, which was a thoughtful touch. Amenities: Although the hotel is older, the facilities are still good, tidy, and clean. However, some details could be improved. The slippers provided for the swimming pool were poorly designed; they had holes on the bottom, making them very uncomfortable to wear, especially when your feet were wet, as they chafed with every step. Environment: Staying here during the Spring Festival was a bit of a headache due to the excessive crowds, especially in the evenings when it was packed. However, it's incredibly convenient for sightseeing, with Jiefangbei and the Yangtze River Cableway both within a five-minute walk.

The location of this hotel is absolutely fantastic! I have to give it a big thumbs up! The geographical position is superb, right in the heart of the Jiefangbei central business district. You can walk to the Jiefangbei Monument in just a few minutes, and Hongyadong is also just a stone's throw away. It's incredibly convenient to walk back after enjoying the night view. The Eighteenth Steps (Shiba Ti) is right next door, and it's super close to 'Eye of the Sky' (Yunduan Zhi Yan) and the Yangtze River Cableway, so there's no need to go out of your way – perfect for 'special forces' style tourists! The view from the window is expansive, offering a glimpse of Chongqing's bustling city streets. Downstairs, you'll find a subway station and various popular hotpot restaurants, making it a one-stop shop for eating, drinking, and entertainment. For such a prime location, the value for money is truly excellent. The staff are also very enthusiastic, and the room is clean and tidy. If you're visiting Chongqing, staying here is definitely the right choice – it's convenient for getting everywhere. Highly recommended!

Chongqing Grand Hyatt Hotel: I stayed here for three nights and found it incredibly convenient. Here's a recap of my trip: Day 1: Took a taxi to the Three Gorges Museum, then swung by the People's Assembly Hall [victory emoji]. After that, a taxi to 18 Steps for some food and exploration. I then hopped on Metro Line 1 to Chaotianmen, where I headed straight to North Cable 720° River View Restaurant (Raffles City store) for stunning river views and a drone show. After a satisfying meal, I walked along the river to Hongyadong [yay emoji]. It was packed, but I still made it there. The best part? My hotel was right in Jiefangbei, so I could just walk back – super convenient! [rose emoji] Day 2: Took a taxi to Hongyadong to catch a ferry ⛴️ to Ciqikou. It was a pleasant ride, 30 yuan per person, and for an extra 20 yuan, you could sit at the front of the boat, which was way better than a regular cruise! [victory emoji]. After filling up on food at Ciqikou and enjoying a stroll while petting cats and dogs, I took Metro Line 1, then transferred to Line 2 to see and experience the famous Liziba station (train going through a building). Sitting at the front of the train on Line 2, you can snap a pic of the train on the opposite track entering the building. I got off at Niujiaotuo and then went to the back of the train to get a fantastic shot of Liziba and Line 3. Then, I took the metro back to the hotel. Its convenient location meant I could just cross the street for an amazing hot pot dinner! [thumbs up emoji] Overall, I found this hotel to be very convenient with excellent service. I'm extremely satisfied with my choice! [playful emoji]

I stayed at the Hilton in Chongqing for three nights and was satisfied with everything. It's very close to the subway station (Lianglukou) and Didi (ride-hailing) is also super convenient. There are plenty of food options nearby, including a Luckin Coffee right outside. The staff were amazing! Housekeeping Auntie Chen (I hope I got the name right) was incredibly thoughtful; she brought amenities for my child and even provided a bathtub liner and bath salts. Vickie and Jason at the front desk provided excellent service and even complimentary breakfast for one day. The concierge staff proactively helped me with my luggage both at check-in and check-out. It truly felt like a home away from home, especially for a mom traveling alone with a child! I recommend bringing a swimsuit. We forgot ours, otherwise, I definitely would have relaxed in the heated pool. I really enjoy swimming in winter.

For my trip to Chongqing this time, I once again chose the hotel on Longmenhao Old Street. I discovered this gem about a year and a half ago during a business trip. Back then, I passed by 'Banshan' and it was still under renovation, but it quietly piqued my interest. This time, I finally got to stay there. It's exactly the民國 (Minguo/Republic of China) style I adore. The architecture is absolutely stunning; even the tops of the windows are carved, which I assume are original features of the building. Upon closer inspection, some parts of the decor are a bit rough, and the amenities aren't as comprehensive as other hotels. However, it offers great value for money. The hotel's housekeeper was incredibly enthusiastic and helped us carry our two very large suitcases in and out. The location is excellent. We were able to walk to see the New Year's Eve drone show. Xiahao Li itself has many places to explore. There's so much delicious food around that staying here for two days makes it easy to gain weight! 😂 Plus, the hotel has very cute cats, which is a bonus [chuckle]. And the hotel coffee is also very good.

This guesthouse was an unexpected gem during our Chongqing trip. What truly touched us wasn't just its connection to Xiao Zhan, but the genuine care we received late at night. When my friend fell ill in the early hours, the guesthouse staff responded promptly at 3 AM, delivering medicine and food right to our door. This kind of support in a foreign city was incredibly moving and reassuring. The views from the guesthouse are also captivating. Lush greenery fills the windows, overlooking the river bridge and the bustling city lights, perfectly capturing the multi-layered and romantic essence of Mountain City. The atmosphere is both free-spirited and poetic. Our stay was solid and comfortable: over five consecutive nights, our room remained spotless, equipped with all necessary amenities, and the complimentary, exquisite afternoon tea was a thoughtful touch. This place perfectly blends Chongqing's vibrant energy with the warmth of a guesthouse. It wasn't just a successful check-in; it's a reason to return.

The service was incredibly responsive, and we felt completely at ease throughout our stay. Traveling with elderly parents and a child, the front desk proactively upgraded us to a spacious family room and thoughtfully provided kids' toiletries and a crib. The room was clean and tidy, with excellent soundproofing, so our child slept soundly at night. The breakfast offered a great variety, including porridge and pastries suitable for children. Overall, the experience exceeded our expectations, and we'll definitely choose this hotel again.

Everything about the campsite is great! The only thing to watch out for is the water heater. Previous guests might mess with it, so it should be checked upon checkout to prevent a cold shower tragedy for the next guests, especially in cold weather. The owner is incredibly warm and friendly, and even thoughtfully turned on the heater for us in advance 🥰. We arrived very late and hadn't had dinner yet, and the owner enthusiastically helped us find a restaurant. The lamb soup they recommended was absolutely, incredibly delicious! We only stayed for a short day this time, but we will definitely go back! Next time, I want to stay for a few more days to truly enjoy it. I highly recommend everyone to experience the atmosphere of the campsite.

The room was clean and the service was excellent. I was especially touched by the warm and attentive service in the hotel's breakfast buffet area. From the moment I entered, I was proactively guided to a table, and during the meal, plates were cleared promptly and drinks were refilled without me even asking. The service was meticulous throughout. When I inquired about a dish, they patiently explained everything, which made me feel very comfortable. A big thumbs up to Sister Wang Xiu from the restaurant for her warm service! 👍

This trip to Chongqing with my parents and children was made incredibly comfortable by our four-bedroom private villa. We really chose well; my family all agreed it was much cozier and better value than a hotel. The underfloor heating throughout the house was a huge plus for my elderly parents and children who are sensitive to cold, keeping the indoor temperature perfectly comfortable. The villa was spotlessly clean, and we felt perfectly at ease letting the kids run around barefoot. The biggest surprise was the hotel providing kids' toiletries and toys, which immediately captivated the children and made things much easier for us adults. In the evenings, we enjoyed playing some light music on the Marshall speaker, creating a warm family atmosphere. The mahjong machine also came in handy, keeping my parents entertained. The 24-hour butler service was very responsive and helped us out with many of the little tasks that come with traveling with kids. Plus, the free garage parking was very convenient. I highly recommend this place for families with children!

GGenOhlsonA cosy family-friendly enchanted hideaway in the mountains with the clouds. The whole place seems to have been a long-time passion in creating the most charming and comfortable inn from conception to realisation with both the exterior and interior decorated in either a rustic country cottage or a European apartment style from the last century. We were so happy here and my child especially appreciated the room and all of its surroundings. Every nook and cranny of the place is excellently utiilised. From the dining room as well as the main outside eatery balcony, one has a beautiful view of the mountainside in all its greenery with butterflies flitting amongst flowers. Don't forget to check out the third story balconies and the library. Screen projector fittings are in place for a medium-sized conference. The place even has a couple of majiang table nooks should you want to play with friends. The surrounding forest environment of the inn is all sorts of paths and green terraces going off in different directions. There is a playpark for children with its own pedal-powered mini-roller coaster and other items for children to climb on. There is an off-site pond and ancient stone bridge nearby. One can take a short hike up the driveway and explore the diverging walking track paths. There's also an ecological technology exhibition centre not far up the road from the inn. A large portion of the clientele when we were there were day trip visitors in family and friend groups. Big tables as well as KTV facilities could be booked for the day. The food quality is fantastic and the portions generous. There are no nearby shops so all meals are taken in-house; the staff will consult you about when and what is on offer from the extensive menu. You can specify whether you'd want your food spicy or not when possible depending on the dish. The genuinely friendly and accomodating staff take such good care of you and step in whenever they feel you may need some assistance. My child had a bad cough at the time, and they were so kind bringing her hot drinks with honey and offering medicine they happened to have there. My Chinese is not good, but with a standard translation app, you're able to communicate what you need and the staff are so obliging to help. They genuinely do seem to be happy to be working there, and cudos and credit it to the owner for taking such good care of the staff that they in turn carry it over to their care for their guests. It was a pleasure to meet them and the owner.

MMさん。”I’ve seen comments saying that the cheaper single rooms in China tend to reek of cigarette smoke, but thankfully this hotel had no tobacco smell at all—that was a plus. That said, it didn’t feel as clean as the reviews suggested. Still, the owner was friendly, so I’d say it’s fine overall.”

GGuest UserThis four-diamond hotel truly delivered five-star service. My room was a good size, and the overall ambiance, service, and dining were all of a high standard. The tranquil lobby, with its constant elegant and soft music, always brightened my mood. The hotel manager was also quick to address and resolve any issues I encountered. Guests can feel completely at ease here, and it offers excellent value for money. I left in such a hurry that I actually forgot to leave a review, even though the hotel was surprisingly good! The service was excellent from the start, especially the front desk staff, who even escorted me to the elevator. The hotel's interior environment matched the photos exactly – it was clean and had a great design aesthetic. Overall, it was a very satisfying stay.

JJo TehThe property could benefit from some updates and maintenance. One of the queen bedrooms was converted from a balcony, making it extremely cold during winter. Additionally, the heater in one of the rooms next to the hall was not working, which made it very uncomfortable to sleep through the night. The bathroom in one of the rooms remained choked throughout our stay, and overall, the bathrooms were not thoroughly cleaned. The kitchen also lacked proper cleanliness, which was disappointing. On a positive note, the view from the hall was decent, but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to make up for the shortcomings in comfort and cleanliness.

AAskeRMThe best hotel we’ve experienced in China. We are budget travelers by all means but this was just insane for the price. Maybe because we visited in early December, but we were immediately upgraded from a single queen bed room to a double queen bed with river view room. The cleanliness was top notch and the amenities were nice too. Thank you very much

AAnonymous UserHotel very good, great location, near jiefangbei, staff is very friendly and very helpful. We can put our luggage after check out, and the staff gave us 2 bottles of water before leaving the hotel. There are washing machines too for free laundrey. The only downside is that there is drainage smell when we enter the building. And also the coridor carpet looks dirty. But for this price, it's ok for us. Would recommend this hotel for any traveller looking for affordable hotels in great location.

GGenOhlsonThree stops away from the airport on line 3 (dark blue), this cute little apartment is suited perfectly for a day or two in the area. The building complex is conveniently situated right next to Huaxing subway stop, exit 1. The building is called 'Huakai Youth City', but it's not a youth hostel specifically. It's a regular apartment building with families and people of all ages living there, so don't think you're screened off staying there on account of age. The apartment itself is very clean with freshly laundered bedding and a small balcony that looks out onto the tree-lined street. A small kitchen has a couple of basics to supplement groceries bought. There is a supermarket directly under the apartment complex that could supplement any/all that you're missing. There are also a bunch of other amenities in the area including multiple pharmacies and a shopping mall. The caretaker was very sweet and took a bunch of time out of his day to escort me personally down to the police station to register my passport in the area. Waited with me, accompanied me through the whole process and then took me all the way back. This would only apply if you're a foreigner. The language barrier isn't an issue if you have a translation app set up or you could just add the person on Wechat and message translate.
