I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights last week. The location was convenient because you could cross the road and find a row of shops that included pharmacy, and a good range of eateries, including Halal coffee shop with local food, cafes, Chinese and Japanese restaurants and bakery. . There were also supermarkets.
The studio room was spacious, including a small pantry, and the bed was very comfortable. The room faced the main road; however, it was not noisy.
The staff were courteous and helpful.
There was a glitch with the Tv and it did not work for 2 days ( it was for the entire hotel).
I would stay at this hotel again in future.
Location: Situated right by Gurney Bay, it's about a 10-15 minute walk to Gurney Plaza, or a 5-6 MYR taxi ride. Getting to the old town costs around 7 MYR by taxi. There are plenty of dining options nearby, and a small mall next door with a mini-supermarket and restaurants. You can cross the road to the beachfront for a walk or a run.
Facilities: The room was quite spacious with a great sea view, and the bedding was very comfortable. The bathroom was also huge with a separate wet and dry area. Bottled water isn't provided, but there's a purified water tap. The swimming pool is fantastic with lovely views.
Service: I was particularly impressed by a young lady and a young man at the front desk who both spoke Chinese and provided incredibly gentle and thoughtful service. They even helped us solve an awkward problem. The security guard at the entrance was also super enthusiastic, helping with luggage and always greeting us warmly. The restaurant is spacious, and breakfast offers a wide variety. The young man who makes the noodle soup, who also speaks Chinese, had an absolutely wonderful attitude.
Cleanliness: Everything was thoroughly cleaned, with no hidden spots or strange odors found anywhere.
This was the most satisfying hotel of our entire trip.
Location is just 3min walk from a Duck meat Koay Teow Teng where locals go. 15min walk from New Lane food street for dinner and lots of TSP stores that locals go to within a radius of 5 min walk. Despite near to all these nice shops, it is quiet enough to rest. The counter staff are also friendly, especially Amirul. Despite putting on mask, Amirul lots of warmth and hospitality. Truly enjoyed the stay at this hotel.
Traveling with family, the room size was adequate, and the facilities were comprehensive. Although we didn't get a corner room as requested, it was quiet enough, so our rest was satisfactory. The clothes rack couldn't be removed for separate use, which was a bit inconvenient.
There was no bottled water in the room, but there was a water dispenser in the hallway. The hotel had a pool, but we didn't use it.
The location was great, with two shopping malls a short walk away, making it easy to buy things. It was also not far from the '7th Street Pasar' (market). Most attractions were within walking distance, and taxis were readily available.
My family and I had a great stay here, though there is room for improvement.
The place looks and feels a bit dated, which adds to the charm, except for when the air conditioning makes loud noises that disrupt the peace. One of the mattresses in our suite was also a little worn, sinking in every time we sit on it. We have to admit that our suite was big and cosy for all of us, with strong WiFi connection and Netflix.
Moreover, the breakfast could be better. We opted for the stay with breakfast included, and we all were served the same Big Breakfast set. It would have been nicer to have options to choose from.
This place has potential and I might consider staying here again.
I really like the concept of this hotel with its one-bedroom, one-living room setup, and the fact that it comes with some kitchen utensils, a fridge, and a hot plate. Even though we didn't use them, it gave us a home-like convenience just seeing them there.
This mountain villa I booked on Trip.com was an absolute gem – a perfect 10/10 experience! The moment I stepped into the courtyard, I was enveloped by lush greenery. Opening the window revealed rolling green mountains, and I could hear birds chirping in the morning and watch the sunset glow in the evening. The air was filled with the fresh scent of plants and trees – it's truly the perfect escape from the city's hustle and bustle. The villa's interior has a lovely vintage feel, and it's fully equipped with all the necessary furniture and appliances. The bedding was also quite clean. What was most impressive was the butler service; they confirmed our arrival time in advance and were incredibly responsive to any request, without any delay.
When traveling abroad, I definitely recommend staying at guesthouses run by fellow Chinese people.
Great stay & peaceful environment. Thks Ardour Lodge if gt a chance will return back stay again.
Nice room with external private bathtub & landscape pool.
Although the photos and reality were different, the window-less rooms were still adequate for comfortable staying. We stayed for 3 nights in a level 4 deluxe double room and level 3 double room, all ensuite with bathrooms. Due to the lack of exhaust fans and windows, the internal bathrooms can cause dampness and a smell but that was ok for us. A pet friendly Guesthouse (many of our neighbours had dogs but they were very quiet and well managed). Now managed by 3 service staffs who do everything. A retro but working games machine at the ground floor was a delight for my kids. Free laundry & dryer and a simple fitness corner are useful amenities. The highlight is actually the location of this guesthouse - within walking distance, there are numerous dim sum outlets, night time street foods, noodles shop, bakery and a sports bar just across the road. Will stay again, anytime, for my next visit.
