Hotel near Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Moon Spring,Dunhuang
"Staying at Shazhou Wild Luxury Camp in Dunhuang was an amazing experience. Tucked away on the edge of Mingsha Mountain, it offers private access to the vast desert. Unlike the crowded Crescent Lake scenic area, this place is tranquil and relaxing. In the evenings, we played cards in the cool shade of the terrace, watched the sunset, and then the sunrise in the mornings. At night, we could step out anytime to gaze at the starry sky and the Milky Way. It was a truly unique experience, highly recommend! Just a couple of suggestions: 1. It would be great if you could recommend a few spots and paths for sandboarding. Otherwise, kids with sandboards run around everywhere, and some dunes are too hard to slide down, wasting a lot of energy and time. 2. Could you consider installing a rope ladder to the highest dune, similar to Crescent Lake? It would make climbing much easier. Otherwise, the women and children in our group couldn't make it up, which was a shame given the beautiful views."

At the foot of DanxiaMountain Here's the Kaoshan Tent Where you can enjoy good drinks And merry winth friends At night the moon and stars color your dreams; At dawn the sunrise feasts your eyes Oh, what a beautiful life At the lovely tent

"After comparing several accommodations for my trip to Zhangye Danxia, I chose Kaoshan Daying (Back Mountain Camp). The Starry Sky Yurt was what truly captivated me, and my entire stay exceeded expectations – highly recommended! Location-wise, the camp is right next to the West Gate of the Danxia scenic area, making travel incredibly convenient. No need for roundabout detours; I could step out early in the morning to catch the Danxia sunrise. This fantastic location also saved me a lot of effort when it came to stargazing at night. Now, let's talk about the Starry Sky Yurt. Before I arrived, I was a bit worried about roughing it in a tent out in the wilderness, but my stay completely changed my mind. The yurt was spotlessly clean and tidy, well-ventilated with no strange odors. The bed was soft and comfortable, and despite the large temperature swings in the Gobi Desert between day and night, the interior was well-insulated and never felt cold or damp. The en-suite bathroom was excellent, with 24-hour hot water and a full range of toiletries. It truly offered a luxurious wilderness experience that blended comfort with ambiance, without compromising on daily conveniences. However, the panoramic skylight at the top of the yurt was the real highlight and the biggest surprise of my trip. The camp is far from the city, meaning almost no light pollution. As night fell, the entire sky was unblocked and spread out above me. I didn't even have to step outside into the wind; I could lie in bed and gaze up at the countless stars. The Milky Way stretched clearly across the mountains, with stars so bright and dense – a magnificent night sky rarely seen in the city. Lying there quietly, watching the celestial river flow and listening to the distant Gobi breeze, all my travel fatigue slowly melted away. It was incredibly romantic and healing. The camp's amenities were also very thoughtful. In the evening, you can enjoy a starlit BBQ and hotpot. After dinner, there's a bonfire party. Then, after a stroll, you return to your yurt to continue enjoying the tranquil starry sky. The self-driving parking area is spacious, and RV resupply facilities are comprehensive. The staff were warm and meticulous in their service; they thoughtfully informed me of the best stargazing times and were always on hand to help with any issues. The unique Danxia mountain light show at night, coupled with the vast starry sky, created a multi-layered and stunning view. The special clear-broth suoyang hotpot was authentic and generously portioned, perfect for a hot meal after a day of exploring. Whether you're traveling as a couple or with friends, the Starry Sky Yurt is an exceptionally suitable choice. You can admire the Danxia landforms up close and immerse yourself in lying under the Milky Way – it perfectly combines natural beauty with comfortable accommodation. This is an unmissable gem when visiting Danxia, and I will definitely choose the Starry Sky Yurt again on my next trip to Zhangye."

"The room was nice, just a slight new renovation smell, but everything else was fine. The only thing I was unhappy with was that we had a child with us. Other hotels usually ask at check-in if breakfast is needed for the child, or if there will be an extra charge. If they don't inform you, breakfast for children is usually free. If they do inform us, we'd gladly pay the fee. However, the front desk didn't ask or inform us during check-in. When we went for breakfast, the staff, with a rather unpleasant attitude, confirmed with the front desk and made us pay for the child's meal. It really spoiled the start of our day! Other than that, I think everything else was quite good."

The hotel is located in the center of Lanzhou city and is a high-end hotel in the old Lanzhou street scenic area. The hotel is well-located and has convenient transportation. It is located in the financial and trade center of Lanzhou City, the new city center Qilihe Ma Tan area, and is adjacent to the city's central avenue Xijin West Road. It is within walking distance of the Metro Line 1 Ma Tan Station. Lanzhou Old Street Puyan Hotel is a high-end hotel brand under the Luxury Collection Group. "Puyan" comes from China and is committed to creating the aesthetic concept of "one city, one painting, making beauty within reach." The two core advantages of the hotel are the deep cultural value presentation and the high-quality space value experience. The hotel is about 10 minutes' drive from Lanzhou West Railway Station and about 50 minutes' drive from Lanzhou Zhongchuan Airport. There are famous scenic spots such as the Yellow River Tower, the Gansu Provincial Museum, the Gansu Provincial Science and Technology Museum, and the Gansu Provincial Archives Museum in the vicinity. Puyan rooms are high-end and luxurious, with dining and banquet services in one, and the hotel provides free parking and free bus parking. It is an excellent choice for guests and business trips.

"The warmth and sincerity of the people from the great Northwest are always so strong. The hotel is located in the old street pedestrian zone of the main urban area, which is very bustling yet quiet. Dining, shopping, and leisure are all conveniently available right outside. The hotel is clean and hygienic; I personally saw the cleaning staff move the bed to clean thoroughly, not missing any corners. That alone deserves a huge thumbs up! The hotel also offers free lucky draws, and I was fortunate enough to win a souvenir. We stayed for 3 days with our child, and I highly recommend the local street food right outside (Shan Cheng Hand-Shredded Meat, Cang Ying Beef Noodles)."

Hotel near Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Moon Spring,Dunhuang
The Silk Road Dunhuang Hotel (Dunhuang Shanzhuang) is the most luxurious accommodation option in town. Located just outside of town, this hotel has a large range of rooms from standard to suites and villas.A little inconvenient for travelers interested in spending most of their time in downtown Dunhuang, the hotel does have plenty of amenities and entertainment rooms to keep their guests entertained. There is a shuttle bus that runs to and from town.

"My wife and I just stayed at the Dunhuang Hotel. We were incredibly impressed by the beautiful architecture, excellent service, and profound cultural heritage of this place. The hotel boasts an exceptional location near Mingsha Mountain, offering panoramic desert views from its upper floors. The entire establishment resembles a desert castle, standing majestically amidst the vast Gobi Desert, overlooking the ancient Silk Road. In the lobby, three colossal murals depict themes of the Silk Road: its people, treasures, and architecture. These murals, soaring three stories high, transport guests through ancient history, creating a truly awe-inspiring experience. The hotel's Chinese restaurant is grand, designed in the style of a traditional three-courtyard mansion. Every brick and tile, every intricate eave, exudes a Han and Tang dynasty grandeur. Yet, the wooden beaded curtains at the entrance, the exotic carpets, and various decorative details remind you that this is the empire's frontier, a vital gateway to the Western Regions. As dusk falls, red lanterns beneath the eaves and landscape lights on the lawn illuminate the castle-like rammed earth walls, casting a warm, reddish glow. The distant blue sky and tranquil desert beautifully complement each other, forming a serene and picturesque scene where beauty can be found at almost every turn. The guest rooms are equally distinctive, seemingly a fusion of Central Plain and Western Regions cultures. Most of the furniture is Chinese in style: the grand chairs, round tables and stools, stacked cabinets, and the bird-and-flower paintings on the walls all evoke an antique charm. Upon closer inspection, almost all tabletops are covered with brightly colored, exotic-style tablecloths, and large areas of the floor are laid with thick, soft, and comfortable Bohemian carpets. The lighting fixtures also often have a Western Regions flair, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere, as if you've entered a nomad's home. It's worth noting that the bedside and floor lamps are adorned with frescoes of the flying apsaras from the Mogao Grottoes, a testament to the cultural richness embedded in every detail. Each room also provides a collection of books for guests to read, including the 'Dunhuang City Chronicles,' stories of the Mogao Grottoes frescoes, and the handwritten notes of the late founder, Mr. Wang Mangang. These notes recount his challenging experience of investing in and building the hotel in Dunhuang during the early days of reform and opening up in 1993, inspiring a deeper understanding and respect for this hotel. In my opinion, Dunhuang Hotel is not just a place to stay; it's a heartfelt interpretation and preservation of Dunhuang and the Silk Road culture. It left us with warm and unforgettable memories. Five-star rating!"

"If I didn't have to wait until after my reservation to leave a review, I would have raved about this place yesterday! Saying this was the best hotel I stayed at during my Qinghai-Gansu mini-loop trip doesn't even begin to cover how I feel. I can be more effusive, but I'm absolutely not exaggerating: I can't say this is the most luxurious hotel I've ever stayed in, but I can definitely say it's the most thoughtful! From the moment I parked my car and the security guard helped with my luggage, to the front desk attendant offering a warm towel and hot tea, and returning my ID not just as is, but in a beautiful and heartwarming cardholder after check-in. A few small details in the room almost brought tears to my eyes, and I'm a grown man! Upon entering, I saw complimentary roses, Chinese knots, and snacks, all artfully arranged to create just the right cozy vibe. And then, there was even a foot bath and cucumber face masks! Every little surprise seemed to say, 'We genuinely care about you.' In this fast-paced world, finding a hotel that's willing to slow down and treat guests like family is incredibly rare. Thank you, Zhangye Huachen International Hotel, you've made me believe that the warmest scenery during a trip is the people you meet!"

Hotel near Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Moon Spring,Dunhuang
Nasshan Waterside Homestay sits at the foot of Mingsha Mountain in Dunhuang, just a 10-minute drive from the renowned Mingsha Mountain & Crescent Spring Scenic Area. It is a tranquil waterside courtyard leaning against rolling sand dunes and accompanied by clear springs, far away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. We offer a full range of well-equipped guest rooms and all-round supporting services. Choose from king rooms with private courtyards or fountain balconies, as well as terrace rooms overlooking jujube groves and desert vistas. Complimentary airport and station transfers are available by reservation, alongside a free parking lot with EV charging piles and a free self-service laundry & drying room. Every room is fitted with a smart room control system for easy adjustment of lighting, air conditioning and other amenities. Standard in-room facilities include humidifiers, mini-fridges, hot & cold air conditioning, 24-hour hot water, private bathrooms and free Wi-Fi, while select rooms are equipped with projectors. Rooted in rammed-earth desert aesthetics, our homestay highlights waterside courtyard scenery, seamlessly blending Gobi sand dunes, oasis streams and Silk Road art to break the monotonous style of conventional desert accommodations. The courtyard is wrapped in flowing water features, green plants and fruit trees. By day, clear springs mirror the silhouettes of Mingsha Mountain; after dark, string lights cast gentle glimmers over the running water, creating a serene, soothing backdrop perfect for capturing atmospheric Dunhuang-style photos. Unwind and let go of travel fatigue as you soak in the warm, laid-back vibe of the desert. We look forward to welcoming you to our quiet courtyard beneath Mingsha Mountain.

"Choosing Nashashan Homestay for my trip to Dunhuang Mingsha Mountain was the luckiest decision I made. The location, living environment, and owner's service all far exceeded my expectations. I genuinely recommend it to all visitors coming to Dunhuang. The homestay is nestled at the foot of Mingsha Mountain, just a 10-minute walk directly to the scenic area's entrance. This means no waking up early to beat traffic, no enduring the scorching sun to go back and forth. You can head out early to catch the desert sunrise and return to the courtyard in the evening to quietly enjoy the sunset's afterglow. With minimal light pollution at night, you just look up to see a sky full of dazzling stars – a truly immersive experience of the desert landscape, far from the city's hustle and bustle, quiet and healing. The courtyard is a rammed earth courtyard with distinct Northwestern characteristics, meticulously kept clean and tidy, with tables, chairs, and greenery artfully arranged. Sitting in the courtyard in the evening, enjoying the breeze and drinking tea, creates an incredibly atmospheric vibe. The guest rooms are spacious and airy, with impeccable cleanliness down to the smallest detail. The bedding is soft and dust-free, and every corner and bathroom is thoroughly cleaned. Considering Dunhuang's dry climate, each room is equipped with a humidifier. The independent bathrooms have separate wet and dry areas, with abundant and stable hot water. The hairdryer is powerful, making it easy to quickly clean off sand after playing. The blackout curtains provide excellent sound insulation, ensuring a solid night's sleep after a day of exploration. The homestay also has a self-service laundry and drying area and free parking, which is very convenient for self-driving guests to store luggage and wash sandy clothes. The facilities are comprehensive and thoughtful. What touched me the most was the owner's warm and genuine service, completely devoid of any commercial detachment. Upon arrival, they proactively helped with luggage and made check-in quick and efficient. They also meticulously explained off-peak routes for visiting the scenic area, recommended lesser-known photo spots, and suggested local restaurants frequented by residents. During my stay, any requests were promptly addressed, whether it was refilling drinking water or borrowing items – they were always on call. They were gentle and patient, and in their free time, they would chat with guests about local customs and traditions, making it feel just like staying at a relative's home. For its location, this homestay offers excellent value for money, combining the charm of the desert with a comfortable living experience, making it suitable for couples, families, and friends traveling together. The thoughtful service and superb location added so much warmth to my Dunhuang trip. The next time I visit Mingsha Mountain, Nashashan Homestay will still be my first choice, and I will definitely recommend this hidden gem to my friends planning trips."

Staff were very friendly and gave me their WeChat upon arrival so I could contact them if I needed anything. Room was clean and had everything I needed although a fridge would be nice! "I've lost count of how many times I've stayed at this hotel. I just stumbled upon these beautiful photos from a previous stay in my album today and couldn't resist sharing them. Every time I walk in, I'm drawn to the authentic, down-to-earth vibe. The front desk staff are always so welcoming, eagerly greeting us and helping with our luggage. The rooms are spotless and incredibly comfortable. But the absolute best part is the snow outside the window. Waking up and drawing the curtains to a pristine white landscape, with snowflakes gently drifting down – it instantly puts me in a fantastic mood. I also have to rave about the hotel's pour-over coffee. The freshly ground beans are so aromatic, and the coffee itself is rich and smooth, not bitter at all. A warm cup in the morning, enjoyed while gazing at the snowy scenery, is pure bliss. The service is also exceptionally thoughtful; any request is met quickly and efficiently. Next time I'm in Jiayuguan, I will definitely choose this hotel again. I genuinely recommend it to everyone!"

We are impressed with the hotel. Whatever we write, it will still be not enough, because it is a real jewel in every aspect. The room was luxuriously furnished and extremely cozy. Inside there is everything you need for a perfect and comfortable stay and rest. Even the smallest details, both functional and aesthetic, have been considered. There were snacks and water in the room as a compliment from the hotel. On the 5th floor there is a self-service laundry room and dryer available to guests. The cleanliness is perfect. The breakfast is rich and has both European and Asian offerings. The location is very convenient. There are many restaurants nearby, and the beautiful central part is also within walking distance. We are grateful to the entire staff for the excellent service and kind attitude. Every single person of the team does his job perfectly well. The only thing we regret is that we did not have more time to enjoy this wonderful place. We wish the entire team health and good luck. Always be so kind and keep this high level service.

Checked in on New Year's Eve. Two wind towels were given as a gift when I checked in. I took a photo of it specially because it was my favorite color, hehe. Cleanliness: The room was surprisingly clean. No weird smell. Facilities: Free toiletries are provided. The bathroom is spacious. The eco-friendly slippers are comfortable, but you can’t take them away. Environment: Entering the hall, it is cozy, warm and the heating is very good. Service: The beauties in the lobby are enthusiastic and warm. To emphasize, heating is very good in winter. The bedding was clean and tidy. We stayed for two days and went out to the scenic spot on the second day. They cleaned and tidied the room without any request. It is convenient to eat. There is an authentic beef noodle restaurant opposite the hotel, a convenience store next door, and a large supermarket around the corner, which is open on New Year's Eve. A perfect trip to Dunhuang! Dunhuang of the world, where my heart longs for!

My positive impression of this hotel started with the complimentary airport pick-up service, and after having dinner here, I decided to give it a glowing review on the platform. Regarding the pick-up: Master Liang was very friendly and punctual. The car was exceptionally clean, and perhaps because it was the off-season, it was just our family of three. He patiently answered all our strange questions about Dunhuang on the way from the airport to the hotel and even recommended many restaurants (though we didn't end up trying any). Regarding the accommodation: Xiao Gao, Xiao Shi, and Xiao Qin at the front desk were incredibly helpful. The tatami in our room offered direct views of the Dang River, which was a huge bonus for the room. The only slight oddity was that the shower gel and shampoo were placed on the vanity, not directly in the shower stall. Regarding the food: The breakfast on the second floor was very ordinary, but the restaurant on the first floor offered incredible value for money! For our family, the dinner we had at the Hexi Corridor Hotel restaurant was the most satisfying meal of our entire Northwest trip!!! Although the price per dish was a few yuan more expensive than restaurants outside, the portion sizes and flavors made every penny worth it. I highly recommend the fried eggs with sand onion and the stir-fried lamb with scallions. The aunties working as servers in the restaurant were all very professional. I recommend that independent travelers staying at the hotel, who are tired from sightseeing, can just come back to the hotel and eat directly. Our family only found out on the second day that the hotel restaurant served dinner, and we regret not knowing sooner – if we had known, we would have eaten at the hotel for two consecutive days! 🤤 Oh, and the ginseng fruit sold at the small supermarket next to the hotel is delicious… don't miss it, everyone…

Holiday Inn Express has been my default hotel whenever I travel in the US Or in china. I was impressed by the Holiday Inn Express at Zhangye for their excellent customer services, delicious breakfast, and room facilities. Their room rate was also surprisely friendly. This low rate may not last once the hotel completes its renovation.

Highly recommend this hidden gem hotel! The location is superb, with convenient transportation and close to shopping areas and attractions. The hotel's decor is upscale and elegant, full of artistic flair; every corner is photogenic. The rooms are spotless, the bathrooms have separate shower and toilet areas, and the toiletries are all from well-known brands, exuding quality. The service is impeccable; everyone from the front desk staff to the housekeeping and security personnel is exceptionally friendly, responsive, and quick to help. They even provided a complimentary dessert in the evening—a truly thoughtful touch. The value for money is outstanding; whether for business or leisure travel, this is an excellent choice. Five stars wouldn't be enough!

My family of three made the right choice for this hotel. As soon as the car pulled up, the staff greeted us and took our luggage, which was incredibly reassuring. The housekeeper, mindful of our child, provided slippers, toiletries, and a small toy, which the child loved. The service was personalized, and the room was comfortable, bright, and clean. It felt comfortable for our family of three. The attentiveness was evident in every detail, especially the care provided for families with children. I hope this continues and I'll be back.

This hotel is by far the best I've stayed at in terms of service awareness and attentiveness. The facilities are excellent, the rooms are spacious and soundproof, and all the toiletries you could need are provided. Every day, we received complimentary fruit, snacks, and yogurt, and there was even a foot bath in the room. The impeccable service was evident in every small detail. It made our trip to the Northwest incredibly enjoyable and comfortable. If I ever get the chance to visit Dunhuang again, I will definitely choose the Metropark Hotel.

My wife and I just stayed at the Dunhuang Hotel. Five-star rating!

We are an Italian family and we stayed at this hotel for around 10 days while we were fixing our motorhome in Zhangye. This hotel has the perfect position for us, near the beautiful and calm lake and with the city centre reachable with a short taxi drive. Our room at the ground floor had a private garden from which we enjoyed the sunshine every day, and my child was given a very cute camping tent that she loved to play with. One of the buildings in the hotel is a very nice restaurant that we enjoyed twice. Last but not least, the staff was so kind to us every day and extremely helpful with lot of things like ordering delivery food or receiving packages - as we don’t speak any Chinese at all, this was a blessing for us.

The room was spacious and bright, and very clean. There's a buffet downstairs, and the service was excellent. It's super close to Shazhou Night Market, just a short walk away. Being in Dunhuang city, it's really convenient for shopping and getting around by taxi. If you need to arrange a private car, just ask the front desk and they'll provide a number for a very reliable driver. He gave a great commentary throughout the journey, didn't take any detours, and was completely trustworthy. It was a fantastic experience, definitely five stars! The only thing is I forgot to take photos.
