Romantic Hotels in Catalonia, Spain

I recently stayed at Barceló Sants Hotel and had an excellent experience. The hotel’s unique, space-inspired design stands out and makes for a memorable atmosphere. Conveniently located above Sants train station, it offers direct access to local and high-speed trains, making it easy to explore Barcelona and surrounding areas. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, with thoughtful, futuristic touches and ambient lighting that create a relaxing mood. In general, everything is correct. Huge room and extremely comfortable beds. However, we stayed in a Callaghan's Superior room, but without the details like the Colorado Creek Superior rooms (no bottled water, for example). It is noticeable that the quality of the hotel's food at dinner and breakfast has dropped a lot compared to other times we have stayed at the Gold River.

Stayed at W for my partners birthday and it was nothing less than perfect. Staff were great and the room absolutely lovely! We will definitely be going back !

I had high hopes for this ”4star hotel” From the pictures and the previous reviews everything seemed like it was too good to be true... Arrival was average, had to ask which way to go to get to my allocated room (normally you are directed by a member of reception atleast) Arrived at my room (104) 1st floor. Opened the door to a bright airy room..my first thoughts were this is lovely. Dropped my bags and took a shower and that's where things started to go downhill...let me explain... Now I am aware this is not 5 star but if im being totally honest I have stayed in cleaner 2 star hotels... The attention to detail from the cleaners is just way below par for a 4 star establishment. Shower door covered in limescale (easy to put right with a bit of Elbow grease) Mold and nasties around the outer edge of the shower door (see pics) Splash marks all over the tiles at the side of the sink (like old toothpaste marks) Sink wouldn't drain properly (seemed to be blocked) Skirting boards definitely hadn't been given a wipe for a good few weeks/months All standard/basic stuff that you would expect from any hotel and certainly from a 4 star one or am I being picky? Then there was the call to reception to ask for some milk so I could make a coffee (kettle is provided in room) Receptionist said they don't have fresh milk only 'powdered sachets' of the most vile tasting milk I've ever had (think baby milk/gone off normal milk) Apparently the restaurant was closed so they could not access it to get some fresh milk? Receptionist advised me to go to the supermarket..which is a 25 minute walk from the hotel 🤦♀️ As it happens there is a coffee machine outside the reception entrance so I found myself nipping downstairs to buy one from there. (Not the most convenient but we move forward) I had read that there was a rooftop restaurant in the flyer as advertised but when I asked about it apparently it is no longer there? The restaurant is only open at breakfast times so no food is available not even snacks? However they advertise room service so unsure how that works? Outdoor pools closed which is fine but you couldn't even sit on the loungers hence....nowhere to sit outside the hotel itself. Such a shame that all these little things build and in turn let it down as a 4 star advertised hotel. Now for the positives... The view from the room of the sea is beautiful It is literally across the road from miles of sandy beaches There are a couple of lovely restaurants nearby that are open from 12 noon for brunch/dinner and reasonably priced. The area itself is super quiet and feels safe enough as a solo traveller.

The hotel is located in the old town of the small town, and you can experience the life of the locals at close range. Close to the cathedral. There are free parking spaces around. Although the hotel is in the old city, the design is avant-garde and beautiful. Very warm and characteristic hotel. The small town is located between Tarragona and Salou, a 5-minute drive to Ferrari theme parks and PortAventura theme parks.

Hotel in a beautiful setting with beautiful views of the sea.Tennis field , swimming pool, ping-pong, badminton available .Small beach accessible below the hotel.Walking paths, golf and small village of Begur also nearby.Very Good breakfast .We will return to it!

Hotel was lovely in a good location and very clean. Rooms were cool design but the view from the external facing rooms was amazing! Worth spending it your there for a few nights.

This is my second time staying at this hotel. There are obviously many guests on weekends. The rooms are comfortable, the service is friendly, there are plenty of parking spaces around, and it only takes five minutes to drive to the center of Salou. A very cost-effective hotel

The location was fantastic! Walking distance to casa mila, casa batlo and many shopping and eateries around. Staff was very friendly and helpful when we were there

See the sea view room map without hesitation to book a three-person room with sea view! Say good 180 degree sea view and pool view, came to the hotel but arranged a second floor, there is no pool view, only 60 degrees sea view! Going to the front desk, Complaint told me that the room with pool view + sea view is small. I don't dare to book a foreign hotel in Ctrip next time.
