"I had a great stay at Candeo Hotel Utsunomiya. The location is excellent, with plenty of shops nearby, and the hotel is directly connected to the train station, making it incredibly easy to find after a long journey. Check-in was quick and hassle-free. A unique feature is that the reception is on the 13th floor, where you can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of the city. I would definitely stay here again."

"Generally a pleasant stay, the place is old but pretty well maintained. My main gripe is that the soundproofing on the windows isn’t great, you can hear the Friday night crowds and cars. That said they do provide ear plugs at the front desk, which helped a lot."

"Lovely hotel. The female receptionist is so kind. It is a little far from the station and main roads, but ok if you have a car. The shower and bed was excellent. It has free tea and coffee but you need to buy your own breakfast things from 7/11. Most outside breakfast places open at 9am or 10am and were nothing special. There is an excellent steak place 400m uphill from the restaurant, but you need the reception to make a booking. It is very expensive, but extremely high quality. The Italian downtown is fab. Try the carbonara, salad, gnocchi, duck and tiramisu. Next to it is an excellent sushi place called Komekichi Kouzushi which is great, but the Italian restaurant was the winner."

"The hotel is quite new, and the room is very spacious. We enjoyed soaking in the hot springs at night and strolling along the Onsen street during the day. It's very close to the Yumoto Onsen Ski Resort, which was great as it was mostly locals skiing there. The only downside is that it's a bit far to get to; you have to take the bus and get off at stop number 45."

"Had such an amazing experience staying at Shelter Garden Nikko. From the beginning ( booking of the free shuttle service) to the entire experience, feels very pampered and well taken care of. My mom was in a wheelchair and they are ready to help my mum wherever possible. The designer of the hotel was also around during dinner time and he took the time to speak with each table explaining his design his inspiration and also shared some photos he took around the hotel. Overall very very happy with the stay. Definitely will return for another stay next time!"

"The location was great, just a 5-minute walk from Utsunomiya Station, with many restaurants nearby. Also, the free sea bream rice porridge service for a late-night snack was a nice touch. There were also some delicious gyoza restaurants in the vicinity."

"I stayed with my parents and children. It may be a new hotel seven years after the hotel was built, but the lobby, rooms, baths and restaurants were well cleaned and beautiful. Amenity was also substantial, and cleansing, face wash, face lotion and face milk bottles were also in the room. It was comfortable to use with DHC hotel amenities. There were plenty of drinks, green tea, roasted tea, tea, apple tea, coffee, and the fashionable Delongi electric kettle was good. Both dinner and breakfast had Japanese food, but it was very delicious and the restaurant staff were very friendly and satisfied. For dinner, there are a small amount of dishes for １ １, but there are many kinds, so women will be full by the time dessert comes. It may be a little short for men who eat a lot, so I think it's a good idea to eat cooked rice that can be refilled or eat noodles at the night restaurant. There are vegetables and fish, and it seems to be good for the body, but I think that there is a good part of the hotel with the Viking for children who like and dislike a lot. The souvenirs at the shop include Nasu sweets, fruit park forest-style jam, sake, key chains, and children's toys, but it feels like a minimum assortment. I was a little unsatisfactory for me who likes to see souvenirs, but there is a color 々 shop during sightseeing, so the hotel has the intention of spending a relaxing time in hot springs and rooms. I think there is . The hot spring was convenient because the room had bath towels and face towels brought from the room, plastic bags and socks that could be put in wet towels, and a basket that was okay even if it was wet. It was pleasant and fun to be able to soak in the inner bath, the open-air bath, and the hot springs of 々. It was a pity that the weather was bad and I couldn't see the starry sky at night, but it depends on luck. Free ice candy and fruit vinegar drinks were provided after the bath. If I went well, I had a disappointing experience, not as much as I expected, but this hotel was a calm atmosphere hotel and it was really the best hotel for adults. I would like to go again."

"The hotel is old so you definitely see how dated the facilities are but at the same time you know they are very well maintained. My room on the 3rd floor was spacious and had great view to Chuzenji lake. The sulfur onsen was great too. Staffs are professional, especially those in the dining room. They are vey attentive and quick to response to your needs.  The only downside is the location. If you want to find a lowkey hotel to relax in a remote area, Chuzenji is a perfect choice. But beware that there are only 3 shuttle bus a day. If you missed the last shuttle at 16h40 you will have to catch the last public Tobu bus at 18h and it takes like more than an hour to get to the hotel. No taxi, no uber available."

"Great experience at the Tobu Grande Hotel! It is ideally located, next to all of the cities main attraction and interesting points. Bus and metro stop is close by, as well as convenience stores. The room was more spacious and equiped as I initially thought, which was a pleasant surprise! The Grill Restaurant staff and food were also exceptional. Overall, I can only recomment staying at this hotel for a trip to Utsunomiya"
