"The views are absolutely stunning ☺️, easily comparable to other hotels with ocean views. The room is also very spacious, more than enough for three people in a double room. There's a convenience store right downstairs, and the subway station is just a four or five-minute walk away. In the evenings, on the way back to the hotel, you can also pop over to the nearby Venice Water Town for a stroll."

"The location is incredibly convenient. Metro Line 2 takes you directly from the airport to the hotel, and once you exit from Gate C, you just turn a corner and you'll spot the large sign for Building 9. However, check-in isn't in Building 9 itself; it's in a separate orange-fronted room right next door. If you're not paying attention, you might miss it. It's completely within a residential complex, with both owner-occupiers and transient guests, and I imagine there might be long-term residents too. The ground floor on both sides is lined with all sorts of small shops, making the area incredibly lively and convenient for dining. It's about a 40-minute to an hour's walk to the International Yacht Marina. We stayed during the Davos conference from June 23rd-25th, 2026, and it didn't inconvenience us much; in fact, we even got to enjoy free metro rides all day on June 24th. The actual room size and the scenery depicted in the promotional photos were quite different; let's just say the photography was excellent. Overall, the cleanliness wasn't great. There were several bloodstains on the sheets, which we requested to be changed on the second day when the room was cleaned. The bathroom was quite small, and various towels looked unclean and very old. The shower gel and shampoo came in small bottles. Anyone particular about their bathing experience might find it inconvenient. The refrigerator was never plugged in, and when opened, it had a very unpleasant smell and was also dirty, causing food to take on strange odors. The range hood was also greasy. The hangers in the wardrobe were those flimsy wire ones, fine for summer clothes but not at all suitable for heavier coats in other seasons. The staff were pretty good. When booking, I made some common requests: a high floor, smoke-free room, away from the elevator, and a sofa in the warm, bright colors shown in the promotional pictures. The front desk staff arranged this in advance. During our stay, I messaged the 'little housekeeper' daily on WeChat to request room cleaning, and each time they said they would come in the afternoon. Since we went out in the morning and returned in the afternoon, we asked them to clean in the morning, which they always accommodated. Overall, the staff's service was OK, but since it's a homestay that opened in 2021, the facilities, equipment, and cleanliness/maintenance haven't kept up, so it really can't be judged by hotel standards. Oh, and the water heater worked great; hot water came out quickly with stable pressure, making showers very comfortable. Overall, feedback from friends visiting from out of town was positive, and the value for money was there. Even during Davos and the summer peak season, prices weren't inflated, which was very considerate and well-managed. There are pros and cons, and this is a completely objective review. I hope for improvements and might consider staying again in the future."

"Cant complain. This hotel is just worth the price with the kind of cleanliness, service, comfortability, aesthetics and location. It is near Xinghai Square where we watched the light show at the bridge. Just beautiful! I would love to stay here much longer if I were to visit Dalian again. Free laundry by the way and I did not have to pay for extra coffee which was actually really good too. We were also allowed to check out later. The staff were particularly pleasing! Eventhough their English is limited they tried their best to provide whats needed. Excellent place! I felt so at home but at the same time it didn’t even feel like you’re in China. Superb considering I booked the cheapest room for three adults."

"The room was huge, 60 square meters, and the hotel's location was excellent with plenty of amenities. I highly recommend it for families with kids. This was the most satisfying hotel I stayed at during my 8 days in Dalian. For the price, I felt it offered great value for money. The butler who checked us in was very enthusiastic, breakfast was abundant, and the hotel's service, in particular, was exceptional."

"If you don't mind the hygiene, then you can stay here. But the floor was visibly unmopped, the remote control was covered in dust, the bathroom sink and basin were stained, there was still fecal matter in the toilet bowl, and white stains on the chaise lounge... Although I didn't complain or proactively ask the cleaning lady to clean again, shouldn't they still proactively clean during their daily routine? Let's talk about the restaurant. That tiny little space was so crowded that people couldn't even turn around when getting food. The tables were sticky, the chairs were filthy, and my child drank the same beverage for three days for breakfast and still couldn't tell if it was orange juice, amazing! There wasn't even a label by the drink dispenser, so what was it? Fantastic! 👍🏻 They have two robots going back and forth delivering things, and during peak elevator hours, these two take up so much space and cause so much trouble. They just stand right in the middle of the doorway and won't move themselves. People with luggage can't even get in! The cleaning staff also joined the fun. Instead of using the staff elevator, they insisted on competing with guests for the elevators, pushing such a large cart that one person would take up an entire elevator, and once they even took up both! I will never stay in this terrible hotel again! It's dirty, messy, and disorganized! After being an InterContinental member for so many years, this is the first time I've felt that being a member isn't even worth it. This is the worst hotel, bar none!"

"Choosing the right hotel is so important when traveling with family! The room was spacious, spotless, and the bedding was comfortable, ensuring my child slept soundly. The staff were incredibly patient and the service was thoughtful and meticulous. The hotel's surroundings are quiet and safe, with plenty of attractions and dining options nearby, and excellent amenities. Our family felt relaxed and comfortable during our stay. It's perfect for family trips, highly recommended!"

"I saw reviews mentioning it was an older hotel before I went, so I was a bit worried about outdated facilities. However, after checking in, I found it to be quite good! While some furniture and wallpaper definitely show their age, I think it's acceptable. You can tell from the pictures that the hotel has a good aesthetic, and they've clearly put in time and effort to maintain it well. The front desk service during check-in was just right – very friendly but not overly enthusiastic. I got an upgraded room thanks to my Trip.com benefits, and they even reminded me that I could get discount coupons at the Japanese restaurant on the third floor. The hotel's swimming pool is very well-maintained! The water quality is excellent. Probably because the shallowest part is 1.7 meters deep, everyone there is actually serious about swimming! It's fantastic!!! Big thumbs up! The only slight disappointment was that there are quite a few foreign guests at the hotel. Despite clear signs in both Chinese and English, with large notices on the door to the hot spring area stating no electronic devices are allowed, I still encountered a foreigner doing exactly that. I immediately spoke up. From her reaction, it didn't seem like she was unaware. I hope the hotel can strengthen its management; these rules shouldn't only apply to obedient local guests, otherwise, it's really quite unsafe. Perhaps they could add an extra reminder during check-in and when getting keys for the changing room. They shouldn't avoid saying anything due to language barriers or fear of trouble (after all, every time I went to get the changing room key, I was reminded of the closing time)."

The staff were really friendly and attentive to our little ones. It was also easy to get around and explore nearby attractions. All the toiletries we needed were provided, and the hot water was consistent. We felt so safe and comfortable, and the whole family was very satisfied!"

"This hotel exceeded our expectations! The location is fantastic – within a 1km walk, you can reach many highly-rated restaurants, major shopping malls, and the Qiyi Morning Market. What's even better is that after our room upgrade, we had a view of Zhongshan Square! After checking out, Amber from the concierge promptly called to let us know we'd left some items behind and kindly offered to hold them for us. We really felt the warmth of Dalian through her service!"

"Dalian Xinghai Lying Flat Hotel ✨ A Southern Belle's Dream Come True! What a gem of a hotel I stumbled upon in Dalian! I honestly didn't want to leave the Meihau R Hot Spring Hotel (Xinghai Square Branch) – it was pure bliss from start to finish.😭 The location is unbelievably perfect! Xinghai Square is just a few steps away, making it super easy to feed the seagulls, enjoy the ocean breeze, and capture panoramic city views. The subway station is only about 1km away, an easy walk. The river view is fantastic, and the overall environment is quiet and elegant, a welcome escape from city noise. Their service truly won over this southerner! The front desk staff were so gentle and attentive. The breakfast spread was incredibly varied, and an auntie even specially fried an egg for me on the spot – talk about attention to detail. The room was super spacious; we got upgraded to a river-view room, and the floor-to-ceiling windows offered such a healing view. It was roomy and comfortable. The biggest surprise was the hotel's own scrubbing and hot spring center. My first Northern-style scrubbing experience – I'm hooked! So relaxing and stress-relieving. There's also a secret garden on the rooftop, perfect for a drink and a chat on a breezy evening. The ambiance was absolutely perfect ✨ Honestly, no complaints at all.
