We had a lovely and well equipped room on the top floor overlooking the city. The room was large and easily fitted in an extra bed for our 9 year old. You could open the sash window wide so wouldn't have been suited to younger children as could be dangerous. Although the service was great, the breakfast was rather average and disappointing for what we would expect from this type of hotel. We had an included rate but if you wanted something like eggs Benedict or avocado on toast rather than the full English you had to pay a £6 supplement. The most disappointing part of this hotel was the spa. It was quite small and very tired looking with lots of missing and chipped tiles. Overall for the money, it wasn't worth the price as it needs a bit of an update.

We enjoy our stay in Apex very much. We received a warm welcome from Tony at the front desk. He was being very friendly the whole time and even recommended us places to visit in Bath. The room was exactly how we expected. The swimming pool and spa facilities were spectacular. Tony suggested us to reserve the time slot that was least busy so that we could enjoy the best of them.

This is a bit out of the way but OK if you are touring the area. A rather faded Edwardian large hotel that is in need of a bit of renovation and redecoration to bring it up to standard. Our room was a bit small and showing its age. The staff were friendly
Sumptuous would be the word to describe this hotel. From the lobby to the room to the free snacks pantry, everything is sumptuous. The room we booked is absolutely huge with high ceilings and large windows. The bed and bedding is super super comfortable and we slept really well. The bathroom is nice with a big tub. Location is also excellent, minutes from downtown, the bridge and Roman baths. Looking forward to staying here again.
Small luxury hotel I feel relieved to see that it is SLH, but it is unusually understaffed. From check-in to dining in the restaurant, you have to wait, wait, wait. If you don’t understand English, please don’t come. Most of the employees look like college students who work part-time and cannot solve the problem alone. question.
The restaurant and bar are good, the room is very big, you need to take the stairs to the first floor, and the bathroom is half a floor up. The swimming pool is small and there are many people. There is a sauna, but it was useless because the temperature was 30 degrees on the day of arrival.
Charging the tram is also very funny. It took a long time to fully charge it.

Its meant to be a luxury-ish short weekend getaways before my job starts as my partner can't take a long leave.
The delux double room is a huge disappointmemt.Understably, it is a very premium location and other guest probably pay a lot more. However, I wouldn't think of paying over £300 to get a room feeling like a old day servant's room. Being placed at the roof extension room with the view mostly blocked, the floor makes the typical old wooden cracking noise as we walk. The curtain, carpet and bathroom are not in the best condition. The glass on top of the table and desk are not well fitted.
Another thing is that, without any previous notice, the spa closed foe maintenance the morning we leave. The fake plants make it look less luxury than its branded.
The plus side, it is kind of inclusive which the spa pool, gym and breakfast are included. The breakfast is quite nice if you like English breakfast or they have some basic buffet.
The suite we booked was upgraded to a family suite. It's a very British country hotel. I didn't expect its restaurant to be awarded three stars by Rossete. No wonder the breakfast is better than the Savoy Hotel in London. We had dinner once and it was surprisingly good, and the bread was unique. The hotel's garden is also a natural English-style garden, with a little messy feel that took a lot of effort to create. In addition, the cookies delivered every day are so delicious that they become my thoughts every day.

Had high expectations of my stay and it was completely fulfilled and I was impressed.
Overall welcome and ambience was just right being professional and sincere.
Our bed room, junior suite after upgrading with extra fee, was reasonably sized although the bathroom with the layout of the door made it difficult and slightly dangerous to enter / close behind guest.
The spa village was busy but understandable; it felt clean and very updated overall so there was less of a concern on hygiene which is understood can be difficult to maintain standards.
The breakfast room, choices and service was fine as expected so it’s worth signing up for. Although by day 2, it was hard fo imagine having another breakfast so possibly having breakfast for one day as an option would be good.
Would have liked to have body lotion in bathroom as I had to rely on the one available in the spa village… and with 2 nights stay, toiletries were not replenished …
Always a nice welcome when soft drinks / mini bar is complimentary ; although it doesn’t cost a lot to fill a fridge but small gestures like these make guests feel more welcomed
Thanks for a great stay; would like to take my 80 year old mum here sometime in future as she would enjoy it tremendously !!

SStefan’s TravelsThe location is perfect, close to Thermae and Pulteney bridge. We stayed here for my fiance’s birthday and I told the hotel beforehand about the event and they left a handwritten birthday card and 2 cupcakes in our room, a very nice touch.
Everything went smooth, breakfast was excellent, there’s a waffle station were you can make your own waffles from scratch. Stayed in a King Room, big bed, soundproofed room, 50” TV, everything you’d ask for a 4-star hotel. We’ll stay again on our next visit to Bath
GGuest UserHotel was wonderful staff very friendly i liked the fact that the bar was open all night was a bit disappointed with breakfast I don't mind a buffet breakfast but would have liked a choice of eggs ( not keen on scrambled eggs ) otherwise all was good

GGuest UserCentral location helps to overcome the cramped feeling staying in the annexe. The car was parked at the other end of town and drop off was difficult to say the least but it is what it is. I had no reason whatsoever to check out the main building reception, breakfast area perhaps a bar and lounge area too because nothing pointed me there! So generally, it was a room in a loft space built to an ”average” measure. I never like shower cubicles where I tend to bang elbows and worry about breaking something when I drop the soap. Breakfast price was horrendous so no inclination to walk in on the hop to check it out for the 2 nights stayed. I felt detached, cramped and in a bed-sit like accommodation. It is what it is.
GGuest UserThe hotel staff are friendly and accommodating, the room is clean, when I asked for chamomile tea he asked me to get it from reception and he gave me a few, I was very grateful . Breakfast is not that great, no tomato, mushroom or hash browns to compliment the saltiness of bacon. No cold water around but still good . The location is easy to find but a bit far from the town centre, I was expecting a nearer than that.
MMarilyn qinI had a fantastic stay at this 4-star hotel! The receptions were friendly and attentive, making me feel welcome from the start. My room was clean, spacious, and well-appointed with modern amenities, and the bed was super comfortable.
The breakfast buffet offered a great variety of delicious options I enjoyed the hotel’s historical building. The location is convenient for exploring the city, making it a perfect choice for both business and leisure travelers.
Overall, a wonderful experience—I highly recommend it and will definitely stay here again!
