This is a solitary two-story wooden building, lit up by lanterns and located in a valley. There are baths for men and women (separate bathing) in the main building and open-air baths in the outside space. null

"It's best to be prepared for power outages. Public toilets and water rooms are standard features of traditional Japanese B&Bs. The Japanese breakfast is good. Please note that the check-in time is before 9 pm. If you can't arrive, be sure to contact the owner in advance. The B&B is on the mountain, so be careful when driving at night. There are no street lights."

"I can only say that when traveling abroad, it's always Chinese people ripping off other Chinese people! I doubt even 10% of the guests here are local Japanese. This hotel was hyped up so much on Xiaohongshu, and it's always fully booked on Trip.com. I finally managed to snag two nights last year, only to be sorely disappointed. Both Hoshino Resorts hotels I stayed at this trip were a letdown. Firstly, the hotel's decor, apart from the lobby, just screamed simple and cheap everywhere else. Some might call it 'returning to nature,' but I personally think it doesn't justify the 5K+ a night price tag. Secondly, the hot spring was incredibly, incredibly ordinary. In the evening, it was packed like a pot of boiling dumplings. The 'ice wall hot spring' photos circulating online? That's literally the entire outdoor section. Without filters, it's just a frozen wall you could find anywhere. Lastly, and most outrageously, the rooms don't provide drinking water. You either drink tap water or go to a corner on the second floor (we were on the 4th, I think there's a 5th too) to get purified water. The water dispenser's flow rate was barely more than my tears. Maybe most people don't know they can get purified water, or they're too lazy to walk that far, otherwise, the queue to get water would stretch for miles. When I told my Japanese friends that I paid 5K a night, their jaws dropped! They said they'd get at least a 30% discount if they booked it. I guess getting ripped off while traveling is the norm, and I wouldn't mind if the premium price meant a comfortable and happy stay. But paying 5K for a hotel and still having to fetch my own water was completely unexpected. The only upsides were the breakfast by the stream (very hard to book, we only managed to get four spots for six people by booking over two months in advance) and the pleasant atmosphere of the French dinner."

"The location is fantastic, right above the station. The hotel is very new, and I loved the three-part bathroom (toilet, sink, and shower/bath all separate). The hotel's hot spring is quite unique, with a small pool filled with 'yukemuri' (hot spring minerals) and lots of fresh large apples floating in it. The yukemuri is special too; after soaking, my skin felt incredibly smooth. Breakfast was excellent, and the service was warm and welcoming. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time. Just a small suggestion, hoping the hotel sees this: for environmental reasons, if guests opt for towel-only changes, it would be great if you could also provide trash bags so we can change them ourselves."

"A very sincere family-run hot spring hotel. The hostess is the mother and the son is the boss. They are both very enthusiastic and attentive. The hospitality is top-notch and full of warmth. There is a small corridor in the side hall for free flow after 5 o'clock😎 Various alcoholic drinks and my favorite Aomori apple juice. The boss played the shamisen to entertain everyone. The atmosphere was very comfortable and relaxing. The breakfast and dinner were very rich. The local cuisine was fresh and delicious. Free flow continued 🤣 The room was very spacious and clean. I slept very well. The large bath will not disappoint. I slept until dawn after taking a bath. The three-day and two-night stay was really comfortable."

"The hotel was great and the view is unbeatable. The ”bath with a view” is incredible and relaxing. It's a bit further out of the already very small town than other locations, so you're going to be in for a 10 ish minute walk to anywhere except the beach. The hotel staff does not speak much English, but were very helpful all the same. The WiFi didn't really reach all the way to my room. Overall, great stay!"

Komaki Onsen Aomoriya is a hot spring ryokan where the charm of Michinoku Aomori can be wholly experienced. Please enjoy the Aomori Nebuta Festival at the show restaurant, open-air bath directly from hot spring fountainhead, wagon riding through the garden and locally-brewed Japanese sake.

"I absolutely love Japanese onsen hotels. Imagine, after a long day of traveling, you can just soak in a hot bath all evening – pure bliss! (╹◡╹) Overall, Hoshino Resorts is very conveniently located. It's just a 10-minute walk from the nearest JR Misawa Station, or you can easily book the hotel's shuttle bus. For dining, you can book the buffet in advance through their official website, which is convenient and hassle-free. The variety of dishes is also quite extensive. Regarding activities, the hotel has a fairly concentrated game area. Some activities are free, while others have a fee. You can check the details and plan ahead on their official website."

"Dormy Inn chain hotels rarely disappoint me, and this still holds for Hirosaki one. It is close to Hirosaki Castle rather than Hirosaki Station, but the city has a circular bus that runs every 10 min., and the bus stop for the hotel is just across the road, so it’s not a problem for those who arrive by train. The room is moderate in size by Japan business hotel standard, but it has the added benefits of offering relaxation onsens. As usual, its onsens have both open and indoor pools. This hotel also has cold water pool and sauna. You get free Yakult in the morning, ice pops in the afternoon till late evening. I recommend."

"Service was good. There was a staff who is stationed at the entrance, checking with guest who arrived by car. They will ask for your name, provided clear instructions of where to park. Unfortunately, I have accidentally left the lights in the car switched on. A few moments later when I was doing my check-in, the front desk staff quickly informed me about it. The facilities are good. Food is really good, very different from the other Hoshino resorts in Aomori that I have stayed. At KAI Tsugaru, it is Kaiseki instead of the usual buffet style. The staff took pains to explain and share the reason for each dish that was served. There are only 41 traditionally-furnished and generously-sized rooms offering both Western and Japanese-style designs which gives a very unique and dedicated experience as compared to other hotels which has many rooms."
