My stay at Ureshino Onsen Yoshidaya Uchiroji Hondori (also known as Yadoya Uchiroji Hondori) was a tale of two extremes in the charming hot spring town of Ureshino, Saga Prefecture.
The hotel was modern Japanese-style with smart check-in system. The twin room was spacious, impeccably clean, and exude serene comfort, making it a perfect retreat. The private onsen facilities truly shine— It was a free slot with 40 mins, which could be booked once via QR Code at the room. Ureshino's famous sodium-rich hot springs, renowned as one of Japan's top three for beautifying the skin, deliver silky-smooth water that leaves you feeling rejuvenated.
However, the meal plan was a major letdown. I sent an email to the hotel to confirm my booking and stated I did not eat beef before. The customer service replied I had to pay extra per person in order to change the meat option. For over JPY 38,000 per night including breakfast and dinner, we anticipated premium kaiseki cuisine or traditional served Japanese dinner set. Instead, only a bento box with cold salad and an underwhelming beef and egg pie that felt mismatched for the price. Tragically, my husband experienced vomiting shortly after, likely food-related, which overshadowed our trip. And the breakfast was also disappointing, which was only cold sandwiches with a cup of tea or milk.
Thus, I strongly recommend the hotel clearly states the exact contents of dinner and breakfast plans on booking sites—including detailed menus or photos—and offers flexible options, such as plan changes or alternatives, if guests fall ill from the food. This transparency and adaptability would greatly enhance the experience and prevent frustration.
The hot spring temperature was just right, making it easy to get in, and it was great to be able to relax in the in-room bath!
The room was also incredibly clean and stylish, and most importantly, spacious!
It was also very practical and simply standard!
The meals, both dinner and breakfast, were both visually stunning and delicious♪
Since my only option for a relaxing trip was to enjoy a hot spring, I was very satisfied.
It seemed like there weren't many guests staying that day, but that made it feel like we had the place to ourselves, just as a family, and the staff were all very kind and pleasant.
For those who want to really relax without a packed schedule, I recommend the hotel, as you can enjoy the spa and gym to the fullest!
However, I did think it was a bit lacking that there were only two chairs and two hair dryers in the bathroom...
We were able to enjoy Ureshino Onsen in the spacious and beautiful lobby, open-air bath, and large communal bath with sauna!
The room seemed to be a renovated apartment, with separate bathroom and toilet, and we were able to use the spacious living room as well!
English is very convenient, many English instructions, but the front desk staff's English is general, check-in is also self-service in English, you can ask if you mind. I lived opposite Mercure the day before. The sea view view is not as good as this river view (including Tangjin City view). It is very beautiful. There is a light view at night. There is a small public bath on the first floor. It is so pleasant! Cost-effective choice! The room is warm, there are some, interesting is that the refrigerator is also independent (with English instructions). I stayed for one night without room cleaning. This seems to be cleaned every three days. The garbage can be placed in the corridor. Many Japanese hotels are like this. There is a fast food restaurant next to it, walking distance to JR station, going out is the riverside, a good place to walk. There are (paid) bicycle rentals in the hotel instructions, I did not ask in detail. There are many self-collected items in the lobby, and the English logo has free coffee in the morning, but I left the store earlier and did not use it.
The environment is quiet and quiet, and you can relax from the sea view. The bamboo crab is extremely fresh and delicious, which is the highlight of this trip! The waiter is friendly and kind, making people feel at home. There is a loan cut in the hall, which can enjoy the hot spring privately. It is highly recommended.
Very high-funded traditional hot spring hotel, the hardware is well maintained, the Japanese-style courtyard in the backyard is very beautiful, the whole hotel is very clean, the elegant and thoughtful layout and layout are very practical, there is a separate dining area, there is a capsule coffee machine, there is a living room to read newspapers and magazines, Slippers are placed in front of the backyard to facilitate the visit of the backyard. Every small place is arranged very intimately. The room is large. The software service is first-class. The staff is very polite. The dinner is kaiseki. The breakfast is very rich. Thanks to the host for providing a quality traditional spa hotel that has been missing for a long time.
It was a clean and great service accommodation.
It felt like a mix of the good points of a traditional ryokan and a hotel?
The service was great, and the facilities were great too.
Traveling alone, booked a hot spring hotel for one night, but I finished dinner too late and didn’t have a car to go to the hotel. I couldn’t find a taxi in the city center. I didn’t have a bus. I walked for an hour to reach the hotel. I felt like I was crazy. I could walk there. It’s a scary place along the road, haha, An experience of life.
The hotel was dry and the room was very large. I gave me a twin room alone. The room was old and very old. I was very scared. I had to sleep on the TV, but I kept (cockroaches) ringing in the middle of the night without the program. I didn't dare to get up and turn it off. I will go again next time I have to have someone together.

Great place for a night stay. The room has its own massage chair and the view of the river makes you feel calm and relax. The public bath open till 10.30 pm so you can enjoy a hot bath after dinner. For those who drives, it is free parking. Only downside the mattress is very soft and the pillow is kinda shallow.
The hotel rooms are large and the staff service is very good. There is one night and two meals. The food standard is very high, using traditional Japanese cuisine, and the food is delicious. After taking a hot spring bath, you can enjoy a free food corner, and drinks are also provided for free. The hotel provides different rooms, such as massage rooms (with free massage chairs), meditation rooms, sports equipment rooms, etc., for guests to enjoy.
The hotel room was clean, but a bit dark, and the fan wasn't strong enough. The large public bath was quite comfortable, and the meals were plentiful and delicious. The hotel has a bit of a nostalgic charm. In the summer, there's a waterslide, which isn't available in winter. It's suitable for both adults and children, definitely recommended.
The service was excellent, and they provide pick-up and drop-off at the station. The food was incredibly satisfying. Our room was modern, spotless, and comfortable.
The hotel name and check-in location were different, so I had a bit of a hard time on a rainy day. The accommodation and hot springs were really great. The room was clean, the bedding was clean, and there was an open-air hot spring. There were also table tennis and soccer games. I had a lot of fun. This is a recommended accommodation~~^^
