Street parking is free before 9 am, and nighttime parking is very convenient.
There's a large slope, so dragging your suitcase up was a bit of a struggle.
There are restrooms both upstairs and downstairs, which is great.
The showers are on the first floor, unisex.
The laundry room is from 9 am to 4 pm, which is a bit inconvenient; we checked in late, so I couldn't do laundry, and there's a charge.
The facilities are generally quite complete.
By the way, you need to bring your own slippers, shower gel, and shampoo.
New Zealand doesn't provide toothbrushes, toothpaste, or slippers, so remember to bring your own.
You need to remove the leaflets and bed linens yourself when you leave and throw them in the laundry room on the first floor.
The overall environment and facilities are very friendly, and I would recommend it.
Unlike Haka House in Queenstown which has free coffee and tea, this hostel doesn’t have any. It is only $3 though. But the space in the rooms were bigger than then one in the city center. Big kitchen area, and bigger lounge. You can borrow a cord for your charger.
Negative feedback: this is infront of the lake and my room was facing the lake and so i can hear the sound of the cars passing by, the noise from the people walking in the road if they were too loud. It’s not something very distracting.
Second one: the “clean towels” use to dry the utensils are looking dirty even if they were freshly washed because of the stains and probably because it’s old and has been used a lot. Also, they don’t put unlimited supplies of the towels to dry, I saw the lady putting only 3 towels unlike in Haka house queenstown and the haka house in mt cook where they put unlimited supplies of clean towels and they look clean and presentable. I didn’t even use those towels to dry the utensils/cutleries I just air dry them to the side. The sponge also looks old and worn out..it would be nice if they are replaced at least every 10-15 days.
It was a really great backpacker hostel! I can also convince you that the word of mouth is very good.
First of all, there is a lot of cleanliness. The shared space is beautiful and all the guests use it cleanly. Each room is also beautiful, and it is also great that the bed on the lower stage has a curtain and can be closed.
We are also prepared to drink hot chocolate and tea. New Zealand was cold in autumn, so I was very happy to have a warm drink when I returned to the hostel.
It was an early check-out in the morning with a late check-in, but he contacted me in advance and responded politely.
Also, it was a nice hotel that I would like to stay!
The wooden house has creaky floors, so you need to walk lightly. There's no private bathroom; about two to three rooms share one shared bathroom (toilet and shower). The interior decor is charming and unique, clearly a lot of thought went into it. Check-in is via a code, which can be a hassle if you miss the email – I personally spent a long time trying to find it. The single bed is quite narrow, but that seems to be a common standard abroad.
Leviathan Hotel is a classic hotel with a nice interior of the common areas (wooden stairs, old fashioned furniture etc.) and an old style elevator and keys for the doors. The staff are very friendly and helpful. My rooms is in the small side and if your want a super new and spotless hotel this one is a little bit old and worn which is part of its charm.
The motel's location is a bit out of the city center, so a car is essential for getting around. You can park right in front of your room. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you need, including pots and pans.
The male owner was very responsible. On our first night, the AC wasn't blowing hot air, and we woke up freezing at around 5 AM. We talked to the owner the next day, and he explained that the thermostat was set too high, preventing the AC from kicking in. He then restarted the outdoor unit and got it working. He even proactively knocked on our door to check if it was working correctly and brought us a small space heater. The owner also provided a small map, showing us places to visit in the city and how to get there.

A large motel, the hotel grounds are a large park. There is a large lawn and a rugby field. very quiet. We live in a separate area. The room is not big and can accommodate 2-3 people. There is a public kitchen, which is large and cooking is no problem. There are dedicated public toilets and bathrooms, only hotel guests have keys, one minute's walk from the room. There is a medium-sized supermarket 5 minutes' walk away. It is a 10-minute walk from the town center, less than 20 kilometers from Queenstown, and a 20-minute drive. Compared with the same housing price in Queenstown, it is half cheaper.

Very clean and warm. It is a bit tired to climb up the slope at the door. The location is very good, just in the city center, a little down is the Octagon Square in the city center. Parking on the side of the road is better than the hotel entrance, the slope is too steep

TTortelliniIt’s a huge hostel in the prime part of queenstown so it’s a mixed bag on who you’ll be sharing a room with. There isn’t really anywhere to put your things in the room and need your own lock for the small safety cabinets, and sharing 2-4 outlets with everyone in the room, but it’s clean and the bed is fine.

VVinn0926Overall, the stay was quite satisfactory. The only downside is that the room is next to a shared toilet, and noise from the door opening and closing is noticeable.
GGuest UserCleanliness and facilities are average. The bathroom needs to be improved. There is a strong smell when I open the door. I need to open the door to let the air circulate to feel better. Other services and location are very satisfactory. There is a very beautiful beach nearby.
