To be honest, the actual environment and facilities didn't live up to the grand impression from Trip.com; I felt a bit let down upon arrival. The hotel's surroundings were a bit dirty and messy, and the hotel facilities felt a bit outdated. There was also a musty smell in the lobby and rooms. You could tell the original building materials were high-end, but unfortunately, the maintenance has been subpar. Additionally, it's a bit far from the subway, about a 15-minute walk. However, the good thing is it's close to Disneyland and offers a free shuttle service.

The location is fantastic, right next to major shopping areas and attractions, making it incredibly convenient for sightseeing, shopping, and commuting. There's no need to worry about transportation at all. The overall quality is excellent, the environment is quiet and pleasant, and it was a very comfortable place to stay. This check-in experience gets full marks and is definitely worth recommending to everyone. From check-in to check-out, the entire experience was superb. The management is well-organized, and the attention to detail is impressive. Even for a longer stay, there was no discomfort whatsoever. Truly a great review.

I recently stayed at this hotel for a five-day business and leisure trip to Shanghai, and it easily exceeded all my expectations in every key aspect, especially its unbeatable location and the exceptional front desk service that made my whole stay warm and hassle-free from start to finish.[Coffee][Coffee] First and foremost, the hotel’s location is absolutely perfect for anyone visiting the city. It is situated in a prime downtown area within walking distance of iconic landmarks, bustling commercial streets, and convenient public transportation. Metro stations are just a few minutes’ walk away, making it incredibly easy to explore major attractions, business districts, and local dining spots without worrying about long commutes or heavy traffic. For travelers who want to balance sightseeing, work, and relaxation, this central location saves plenty of time and energy, and the quiet surrounding environment ensures a peaceful rest after a busy day out, with no noisy disturbances at night. What truly impressed me most was the thoughtful, professional, and warm front desk service throughout my stay. Every staff member I encountered was friendly, attentive, and highly efficient, greeting guests with sincere smiles and patiently answering all kinds of inquiries. From my smooth and quick check-in process with no unnecessary waiting, to proactive suggestions for local attractions, dining recommendations, and travel routes tailored to my needs, the team went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and valued. They handled my special requests promptly and carefully, always maintaining a polite and patient attitude even during peak check-in hours. Unlike many hotels where front desk staff feel rushed or distant, here the team balances professionalism with genuine hospitality, making guests feel like they are being cared for by reliable friends rather than just served by employees. The overall accommodation experience was comfortable and satisfying, with clean, well-maintained rooms and quiet, cozy atmosphere that guaranteed a good night’s sleep. But what will make me choose this hotel again on my next visit is its unrivaled convenient location and the heartfelt, high-quality front desk service that sets it apart from other hotels in the area. This is truly a home away from home in the city, and I cannot recommend it highly enough to business travelers, tourists, and anyone looking for a reliable, comfortable, and warmly hosted stay. It is without a doubt one of the best hotel experiences I have had in a long time

The room was very clean, tidy, and comfortable. The breakfast was plentiful, and having self-service laundry facilities was very convenient. The hotel isn't far from the Bund; you can take bus routes 33, 55, or 123 directly there in one stop. The Bund's night view is beautiful, and iconic landmarks like the Bottle Opener (Shanghai World Financial Center), Egg Beater (Shanghai Tower), and Syringe (Oriental Pearl TV Tower) are definitely worth visiting. The observation deck can get crowded, so you'll need patience. Although there's a reservation time, you can arrive early without any issues.

Two moms traveling with kids here. We were together, but not assigned to the same floor. I was on the 7th floor and my friend on the 8th. Both were low floors with absolutely no view. It was also really inconvenient that the room key only allowed access to our own floor. Then, the light switch in my room was one-way. On the first day, they said they'd arrange a room change for me, but it was fully booked, so they said they'd do it the next day. I figured changing rooms would be a hassle, so I didn't follow up with the front desk, but they never called to check either. My room was also right next to an outdoor air conditioning unit, which was very noisy. All in all, not a very satisfying experience.

This was honestly one of the most memorable hotel stays we have ever experienced. We stayed at The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong to celebrate my girlfriend’s 23rd birthday during our first trip to Shanghai together, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations from beginning to end. Before arrival, Assistant Guest Recognition Manager Yana Ivleva kindly communicated with us by email and thoughtfully helped arrange everything for the celebration. Her warmth, professionalism, and genuine care made us feel welcomed even before we arrived at the hotel. The room decoration, birthday cake, handwritten card, flowers, and beautiful Bund view created such a special atmosphere for us. Every detail felt thoughtful and heartfelt rather than simply formal hotel service. The hotel itself was also outstanding — the room condition, cleanliness, facilities, swimming pool, and especially the incredible night view of Shanghai were all amazing. Flair Rooftop Bar was also a wonderful experience for enjoying the skyline and atmosphere. What impressed us the most, however, was the hospitality. Yana and the staff truly made this stay unforgettable for us, and thanks to them, our first trip to Shanghai became a memory we will cherish for a very long time. We are sincerely grateful to The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong and will absolutely look forward to returning again in the future.

I was on a business trip, so I didn't take many photos. This is my third Kempinski in China, having previously stayed at the ones in Beijing and Guiyang. Overall, the brand's service level, dining options, and atmosphere are consistently excellent and on par with other top-tier hotels. What I liked most about this stay were the gym facilities and the variety of the breakfast. The gym had great equipment and views, and the breakfast offered fresh fruit, aromatic coffee, and even ice cream – a really good selection. When I checked in, the front desk saw I was on a business trip and, despite the hotel being full, they flexibly arranged a high-floor twin room for me, which was a nice upgrade. Regarding service, the only minor issue was when I bought breakfast for two days. For some reason, I got a discount on the first day but not the second. They said they'd look into it but I never heard back, probably because they were too busy. I have two suggestions for the room facilities: it would be great if the TV supported screen mirroring, and the toilet seat was a bit loose, which caused some noise.

The room had excellent natural light, and the housekeeping was meticulous with no unpleasant odors. The mattress was just right – not too soft, not too firm. Check-in at the front desk was quick and thoughtful. The water pressure in the bathroom was stable. Overall, it offered outstanding value for money and convenient access. Very satisfied. 076.

Traveling with my family, this hotel definitely didn't disappoint us. The location is excellent, with a bus stop right downstairs, making it convenient to get to all the attractions. The toiletries smell great, and the cleanliness is meticulously handled, even the corners are spotless. I especially loved the complimentary self-service tea and drink area in the lobby; both the elderly and children enjoyed it. The front desk staff, a young lady from Shanghai, was very friendly and even gave us a small pony doll, which made us very happy.

GGuest UserExtremely satisfied! This is one of the most luxurious hotels I've ever stayed in. Coming from the Disney Hotel's executive room, I instantly felt like the money spent here was truly worth it! First, the room is spacious, the bed is super comfortable, and both the lounge area and bathroom are generously sized. The toiletries are Aesop, and the kids' toiletries are also excellent! Second, the breakfast buffet is fantastic, and there's an à la carte menu too – I couldn't get enough of it. Furthermore, the location is superb. You can walk to the Bund, and there are plenty of great restaurants nearby. Also, the concierge service was wonderful and proactive. With lots of luggage and kids, they eagerly helped with transfers to and from the car, saving us from many awkward moments. Overall, the experience was fantastic. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit!

TThe Lonely TravellerMight I say, our entire stay at the W was marvelous from beginning to end. Upon arrival, we were greeted and helped with our luggage straight yo our room. The staff at the front desk was extremely friendly. She even offered to upgrade us to a room with a better view seeing that we were celebrating and visiting Shanghai for the first time. Each staff seemed to acknowledge our existence all throughout the hotel. This made us feel like extremely important people. Our room was absolutely stunning and oh my was the view ever so perfect. Room service was excellent. Their burger was probably the most delicious. We visited amd stayed in many hotels around China and this one definitely left some beautiful memories. We would highly recommend staying here if ever visiting Shanghai. Every penny spent was worth it.

GGuest UserTerrible. Will not stay again. The check-in SOP was unclear, forcing guests to ask multiple questions, even for basic information like breakfast times and location. The room smelled of smoke, possibly due to old or poorly maintained air conditioning. The front desk staff denied there was a smoke smell and only after repeated requests did they show me other rooms, about half of which also smelled of smoke. Their service attitude was both arrogant and perfunctory. The operational procedures were also a mess; for example, after checking in, I found the room didn't even have a kettle and called to request one. Ten minutes later, housekeeping knocked on the door, saying they needed to replace the in-room magazine. It was bizarre to replace a monthly magazine after check-in. The kettle that was eventually delivered was wet inside and out, with a strong disinfectant smell inside. The ice bucket in the room also had water and already smelled foul when opened. The hotel management is riddled with loopholes everywhere; quality is in the details. The hard furnishings like the toilet and bathtub in the room were old, the shower handle was broken, and the water pressure was worse than a 3 or 4-star hotel. The linens were average. However, the bedding and mattress were good.

AAnonymous UserA huge thank you to Deslin for the incredibly thoughtful and attentive assistance during my check-in! From the warm, welcoming smile as I walked in, to patiently explaining the hotel's facilities and the surrounding area, every detail made me feel so comfortable. What moved me even more was how Deslin noticed my travel fatigue and proactively helped me upgrade to a quieter, more comfortable room, even thoughtfully preparing welcome fruit and a heartfelt handwritten note. The check-in process was efficient and smooth, and throughout, Deslin maintained a gentle tone, answering all my questions, which instantly helped me shed all my travel weariness. This genuine care and professional service truly define what it means to feel at home. Kudos to Deslin, and I look forward to meeting such an outstanding person again on my next stay! 🌟

GGuest UserThis time, I brought my child and elderly parents to Shanghai, and choosing the Bund Oriental Beauty Hotel was absolutely the right decision! The front desk service was incredibly thoughtful; knowing we had a child, they specially upgraded us to a river-view room. At night, lying in bed, we could see the stunning Huangpu River nightscape – it was so beautiful, we didn't want to sleep! Before check-in, we received detailed instructions about the gym, laundry room, and breakfast times. The drinks and mineral water in the room were all complimentary, and the one-click WiFi connection was very convenient. The lounge service was also excellent; the staff were enthusiastic throughout, and they followed up on our needs via WeChat, responding promptly without any perfunctory feel. Hygene, environment, service, and facilities were all perfect. For families traveling with kids, the experience was truly top-notch. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Shanghai!

XXiexiaotingThis was my second stay here. I'd forgotten to book two consecutive nights previously, so when I arrived at the front desk, I asked for help. The lady at the front desk was very kind and arranged for me to stay two nights, even upgrading me to an apartment suite. The 110-square-meter room had a huge living room and an open kitchen with a fridge and a steam oven. It was very clean, and the service was enthusiastic. The hotel has a swimming pool, perfect for kids, and a small children's play area, which was enough to keep a boy busy with puzzles. You can see fireworks from the 22nd-floor meeting room, but if you want a really good view, I'd suggest finding another spot. The hotel is very close to Yaoxue and Haichang, and food delivery platforms are also very convenient, making it a great choice for family trips ❤️

GGuest UserService: I really appreciate Mr. Chen Xintong, the hotel's Room Manager. His service was impeccable and very thoughtful. He arranged a complimentary room upgrade for us and helped us book the hotel's buffet. The teppanyaki chef at the restaurant is incredibly skilled; dishes like the 'Lekoufu' cake and the 'drunken' crayfish were as outstanding as everyone raves about! Hygiene: The housekeeping auntie was very meticulous in cleaning our room, and the manager even double-checked to ensure everything was up to standard. Environment: The hotel environment is quite good, especially the evening atmosphere at the lobby bar with live music. Facilities: The facilities are a bit dated, which is understandable since the hotel opened in 2013. Also, having to go downstairs personally to pick up food deliveries is a bit inconvenient. I'd suggest improving this with robot delivery.
