My stay at Carmel in Cumbuco was very pleasant. This is a luxury hotel and it offered all the amenities one could ask for! Although the staff was limited in the English language, there efforts to have me feel welcomed, taken care of, and safe were 10/10! A special note of gratitude for service and integrity to a restaurant worker, Thiago! My first moments there dining for lunch and I unknowingly dropped 800R$ after paying the bill. He promptly turned it into the front desk who returned it to me. Amazing ethics in the staff here! Also special thanks to Gabriel at the front desk. He is well versed in English and made certain all of my needs were met and with joy!

I was not able to take off from New York to come to Fortaleza as planned I sent an email to the hotel because I had called from Zoé port and now I am waiting for the hotel to answer me I go to Fortaleza often so I wanted to know if I could enjoy it another time rather than a refund!!! I'm still waiting for their return If I need a certificate proving that I could not leave, I can send it Please see what you can do for me as I have been to them before and we particularly like this hotel so I would consider it fair play on their part THANKS Charlotte and Frederic Pons

We really enjoyed our 3 nights at the Carmel. While we were a couple and this is definitely a family resort with lots of kids, we enjoyed it. From the minute you arrive, until the moment you leave, the staff is friendly and efficient; they manage every need without hesitation. We had a 2nd floor room which was massive, a large living area on the bottom, a king sized sleeping area up a small flight of stairs. The air conditioning was nice after staying in another Ceara hotel without it. It was the holidays so the pool and beach common areas were busy, indeed, it was difficult at times to find a spot. The beach is very nice, and I enjoyed longs walks early before the crowds arrived. Breakfast was VERY good, with a huge selection at the serve yourself and you could also order off of the made to order menu. Food was fresh and flavorful! We dinned at the resort restaurant all 3 nights and found the food very good with a better than average selection of wines. There is nothing really worth venturing out for in the small town. There are fat tire bicycles available to ride on the beach for free; you can schedule a massage at the spa. You can rent buggy’s, quads or take kite surfing lessons right out front. Again, this is a families with kids resort, since we have 4 grandkids, it was fine with us.

This is a very good hotel! It has a great breakfast buffet, a great swimming pool, a great view of the beach, very nice beds, and a very peaceful location. The negative things I would say are very minor but they did make a difference for me. First, the staff were polite but not friendly. The hostesses at the breakfast buffet each morning were disappointing because they were the first staff I would see each day but they would never greet me and sometimes they would just coldly look me off. I stayed in a suite for 10 days, and these ladies knew it from their register, so for spending that much money I kind of expected a minimum amount of polite and respectful behavior. Second, the location is very peaceful but it is also a little far from other things so that might turn some people off. However, this is easily remedied by spending 3 to 4 bucks for an Uber. Third, I have been in windy locations but all night long the wind would whistle very loudly in my room. I feel like with a little TLC then the windows could be re-sealed or altered somewhat and this whistling issue would be completely resolved. If you are a light sleeper then this whistling wind issue might make it difficult to sleep. In summary, I really feel like this could be an excellent hotel if they would ask their staff to be friendly rather than just not rude.

Ficamos no hotel (minha mulher, minha filha e eu) durante uma semana e o experiência não poderia ter sido melhor! O quarto é muito aconchegante, limpo e bonito, além da arquitetura extraordinária. A qualidade dos funcionários é impressionante . A atenção, carinho e o sorriso sempre presente foi sem igual! Quero destacar, sem tirar o mérito de cada um dos colaboradores do hotel: Daniel, Reges, Rai, Helena, João Paulo, Roni, Márcio, Alberto, Thais, Aline, Priscila, Ricardo e Jê, que deram um toque especial para essa experiência maravilhosa. Stayed in the hotel (my wife, my daughter and me) for about a week and my experience could not have been better! The room is comty, clean and beautiful, besides the design, that is wonderful. I don't even have words for the hotel staff. The attention every one of them had for us was really important for our experience. I want to highlight some names without taking the merit of all the other staff - Daniel, Reges, Rai, Helena, João Paulo, Roni, Márcio, Alberto, Thais, Aline, Priscila, Ricardo and Jê - that created an amazing environment where we felt comfortable and truly at home.
