This was my first time staying here. Overall, everything was satisfactory. My only suggestion would be about the children's playground. It would be much better if it were mopped daily, and the slides and playhouses wiped down regularly. My child played there and got completely dirty – their feet were all black! 🙈🙈 I had to give them a bath immediately upon returning to the room. 🙈 Additionally, it would be great if they could add more types of toys, perhaps a ball pit or similar. While there were plenty of chairs and tables for children, there were no drawing papers or colored pencils available. That's just my main feedback. Everything else was perfectly fine. The breakfast was delicious, and the service was excellent. Thank you, Golden Tulip! 🥳👌

Another big mall, local BG Junction is around 10 mins away.
Location is good ! Including eateries nearby.
Breakfast was the best I've experienced; amazing spread including local flavors. Absolutely tantalizing.

Warm, friendly staff who gave good and practical advice about the protests and safety, much appreciated . Housekeeping was impeccable and thoughtful and really prompt with adhoc requests.
Rooms are large (size norms from a different time) and the mix of analog vintage features and updated features is charming. Clear and strong WIFI , clean rooms especially for tropical setting
The buffet spread is excellent quality, clean and a good mix of delicious local and international continental options.
The spa is lovely, though service can vary - I had a lovely therapist and my friend’s therapist was using her phone during the session (which is not acceptable at any massage place, what more at this spot) incongruous with the very high service and hospitality standards set by the rest of the staff.
Would come back and stay here again!
Was offered and took the upsell to one tier above what I paid for. Overall stay was pleasant with good service, though the breakfast buffet felt it could have sourced better fresh produce suppliers in some parts like vegetables, dairy, and carbs. The pastry section was really good and the coffee was also good. Last but not least, the swimming pool had a couple of caterpillars near the greens and makeshift waterfall feature. Those suprised the kids a bit, but they didn't scare them much, still had fun.
The experience was phenomenal! All staff were very friendly and went the extra mile in terms of service. The location is great, being right next to a mall so it’s easy to find something to do. Highly recommend their spa!
The Hotel have not been up grade since took over from HYATT. The table lamp is not working, chairs are dirty and upholstery are stained. TV is small and limited programs. Corridor carpet is dirty and the lamp shape is chipped. We love the Breakfast - wide selection , great food and serve in outdoor garden setting.

It's an amazing hotel with excellent hospitality, almost all staff are helpfull and you can feel safe to stay here. The front desk is very helpfull as well and provide all the informaton needed.
The room is very clean and all functionaliry is working. The feel of stay is like at your home house.

The room and facilities were good. However, it's a shame the hotel seemed severely understaffed. Upon entering the lobby, there was no one to assist except for a single X-ray security officer. Guests had to carry their own luggage and bags onto the X-ray machine. During check-in, only one staff member was available. Furthermore, the restaurant staff at breakfast were neither welcoming nor particularly friendly.

The pool and jacuzy was so good, the room quite comfort but she said the breakfast should be improve for the taste.
Aawiy1This was my first time taking my infant on a road trip, and we chose Grand Mercure Malang based on its strong reputation and positive reviews. I'm happy to say that the experience lived up to expectations.
The room we stayed in was clean and offered a spectacular mountain view. Upon arrival, we were initially assigned a room that was still being cleaned, but the hotel staff quickly realized the mistake and rectified it promptly. We also requested a baby crib, which was delivered shortly after without any issues.
The bathroom was well-stocked with amenity kits, and there were plenty of clothes hangers available. The shower pressure was strong and very comfortable.
I made use of the gym and swimming pool during our stay. The gym was well-equipped with a squat rack, a full set of dumbbells, a cable machine, and two benches. The swimming pool was pleasantly warm, which made for an enjoyable experience.
Our room included breakfast, and there was a wide variety of food options available. The service throughout was kind and respectful. I would say the barista at the coffee counter could benefit from more training to improve their cappuccino-making skills, but it was still acceptable.
I will definitely return to this hotel for future stays. I've also included some photos to help others considering booking here. Thanks again to the Mercure Malang team for a great stay!
