5-Star Hotels in Wellington Region, New Zealand

"The hotel's location is excellent, close to everything. It's just a few hundred meters' walk to Te Papa Museum, the waterfront, and even the Old Bank building where Jay Chou filmed. While it's not a new hotel, the facilities are well-maintained, and the service is great. The breakfast selection and quality are quite good for New Zealand, and you can order à la carte. They don't provide bottled water in the room; you have to call reception for it. When you do, they bring two large bottles of filtered iced water, which is a minor inconvenience for someone like me who drinks a lot of water."

"Facilities were clean and tidy, and our room was surprisingly quiet for being right on The Esplanade. Staff were polite and helpful."

"We arrived late and tired after a 4 hour drive and climbing Mt Taranaki. We must have looked a right state! Really appreciated the staff letting us leave the car on the driveway so we could get a shower and go to bed to catch our early morning ferry over the the South Island straight away! The check out next morning was quick and they had our car ready to leave us. A warm shower and comfy bed has never been more welcome!"

"This hotel has a lot of artistic design, which I really liked. The stay was comfortable, and it has a pool and a hot tub, so no need to worry about the cold during winter trips. Right behind it is a large New World supermarket, which can meet all your daily needs. The room has cooking utensils and a washing machine. Across the street are a museum and the harbor, offering beautiful views. If I come back, I'll definitely choose this place again. Parking here costs $50, which is a bit pricey, but they offer valet service. You just hand them your car keys and don't have to worry about it; whenever you need the car, just ask them to bring it to the hotel entrance."

"Another excellent stay at this lovely hotel. We had pre booked parking, which meant our car was safe. The room was excellent with very comfortable bed. We also used the restaurant & had a lovely meal, with very good service. Also very good breakfast before we left too."

"The room is very tidy and big, even there is no parking available but the staff showed me a free space along the road to park overnight. There is even washing machine which surprised me and it was working well. The breakfast is good but price is 35 nzd not 19 mentioned in the trip site. I booked the room reading others' comment about the breakfast but to be honest the types of food is not so much and didnt meet my expectations."

"Great spacious room, perfect for families. The bathtub was an added bonus I love that you can get Netflix and Disney Great breakfast lots of variety. Only disappointment was that the pool and spa are no longer an option being an extra plus on a rainy day with the kids but overall didn't diminish a positive experience."

"I stayed at Boulcott Suites for three nights and overall had a pleasant experience. The location is excellent — plenty of eateries nearby (many Asian options), a New World supermarket just around the corner, and Cuba Street all within walking distance. For those driving, private parking is available at NZD 29 per night, though it does need to be booked in advance by calling ahead. The room itself was well-equipped, with nearly everything listed on their website provided. Amenities included tea, coffee, hot chocolate, an infusion tea selection, a coffee machine, kettle, washing machine, clothing rack, clean towels, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and a hair dryer. There’s also a convenient kitchenette with a stove and full set of utilities if you’d like to prepare meals. Do note that some basics like a toothbrush, toothpaste, shower cap, and bottled water aren’t supplied. I just drank the tap water, which seemed perfectly fine. On the downside, I felt the room was a little dusty, which took away slightly from the otherwise good presentation. I had also requested a baby cot during booking and was told it would be included, but it never arrived in the room. It wasn’t a big issue for me personally since the bed was large enough to co-sleep with my baby, but it’s worth mentioning for others who might rely on that service. All in all, Boulcott Suites is a convenient and comfortable choice in the heart of Wellington, with great amenities and an ideal location. With a little more attention to detail on housekeeping and guest requests, it would be close to perfect."

"A divine experience glamping in a vineyard! ❤️ Had the good fortune of stumbling across Martinborough on my way to Wellington. It's a quaint place with a variety of well appointed cabins with gas fireplaces and spa baths just outside the cute village of cafes, shops and wineries. Their team is kind and hardworking. 💯 Bring your own food since you'll have a kitchenette and food can be limited during the day since most places don't open until evening or the weekends for tourists. Also, recommend driving since it's both expensive and challenging to get around outside of the limited free shuttle. Bikes are available to rent for $40NZD 🤑🤑"
