We checked in late, but the staff waited for us until we arrived before leaving, which we really appreciated. It was super convenient having Chinese-speaking staff. The hotel's location is quite convenient, a quiet spot amidst the hustle and bustle. The environment is clean and simple. Our room had a separate wet and dry area, so there's nothing to complain about. Plus, the soundproofing is pretty good, so we slept soundly. The price is also very reasonable for Kyoto. We drove there, and there's a 24-hour parking lot in the alley behind for 1600 yen.

The lobby makes a strong first impression with its tasteful, contemporary design—very much in line with what seasoned travelers appreciate after a long journey.
Location-wise, the hotel is a solid choice. Being close to the train station and surrounded by local food options made getting around and finding good meals effortless.
That said, the 5pm check-in time is noticeably later than usual and can be inconvenient if you arrive early. I passed the time at the restaurant and bar next to the lobby, taking advantage of their Happy Hour, which helped. A nice touch was the self-service luggage storage area—practical and traveler-friendly.
I stayed in a corner room. The room itself was fine: clean, functional, and simple, as expected of many Japanese hotels. The view, however, was unremarkable.
I also tried the public bath. It was reasonably sized and, thankfully, not too crowded during my visit, making it a relaxing experience.
Service was a bit cool at first, though it improved as the stay went on.
Overall, I would consider returning, especially when traveling as a couple.

This was by far the best room I've ever stayed in! It was really spacious, and they even had front desk staff who spoke Chinese. They gave me a comprehensive check-in guide, so detailed that introverts like me didn't need to interact with the front desk much afterward~ The hotel lobby had a full array of daily necessities, including kids' amenities, tea bags, makeup remover, facial cleanser, toner, lotion, bath salts, and even hair oil. The room itself also came with two sets of travel-sized toiletries. Learning from my previous hotel experience, I grabbed an extra kids' amenity kit to take with me, and sure enough, the next hotel didn't have kids' toothbrushes or slippers either. Aside from a slight drain smell from the toilet, everything else in the room was fantastic! Especially that massage chair! Once you sit in it, you won't want to get up!

The hotel is located in a very convenient area, making it easy to get around and explore the surroundings. There are many shops, restaurants, cafés, and convenience stores within walking distance, which was extremely helpful during the stay. Public transportation is also easily accessible, saving time when travelling to different attractions.
The room itself was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The bed was comfortable, and the room provided enough space to relax after a long day. Housekeeping did a good job of keeping everything tidy. Basic amenities were provided, and everything worked well throughout the stay.
Overall, the combination of a great location and a comfortable room made this hotel a good choice. It is suitable for both short and long stays, especially for travellers who value convenience and accessibility. I would consider staying here again and would recommend it to others looking for a hotel in a good location with many nearby amenities.
Very good to have free shuttle service to 2 different locations. This is a must have when in kyoto. Breakfast is very limited choice. You can buy from the Coop mart 2 doors away. Bus stop, taxi stand and train station is very nearby. Staff speak English!

The location is excellent, right opposite Kyoto Station, very close to the airport bus stop, and also near Aeon Mall. There's a 7-Eleven supermarket just down the street.
Check-in is self-service on a machine, which can be switched to Chinese, and staff are on hand to assist. You pay for the accommodation on-site.
The lobby offers self-service coffee, tea bags, toothbrushes, and more. There's also a microwave, with chopsticks, spoons, forks, etc., conveniently located next to it – very well-equipped.
The family room size is good, and the facilities are complete. The only downside is that it gets very dry in the winter, and the humidifier isn't adjustable.
Overall, it's still very good. Highly recommended!

The first time I took my parents to Japan for a trip, I chose this homestay and I was very satisfied. The location is convenient, the room is very new, the facilities are complete, the space is spacious, the most important thing is that it is completely ”what you see is what you get”, which is consistent with the photo. There are also outdoor scenery and open-air bathtubs, which have a Kyoto atmosphere. The overall wooden furniture and warm colors make it very relaxing to live. The kitchen utensils are complete and we also cooked together. The landlord communicated meticulously, provided detailed check-in instructions and play suggestions, and was very friendly to tourists who came to Kyoto for the first time. Our family stayed for two nights, unanimously praised, and the price was very high!

Really good stay. The location is perfect, close to the city busses and close to the train station. Really big room, and nice that it has a washing machine, they also provide detergent, so you don't need to buy. On top of that you have in the bathroom a drying function for your clothes so they are dry in a few hours. Also the hostes Xiao Liv was really friendly. I would definitely recommend
The hotel was more than I expected. As soon as you get in the outside noise disappears. It has a big eating area and even a spot where you can make your own matcha tea.
The hotel was clean and the room was spacious, quiet, and private. The staff is welcoming and helpful. They also speak English. Great location with many coffee shops and restaurants near by. I will highly recommend this hotel to anyone and will stay there next time I am in the city.
Bonus point... I got a beautiful towel arrangement on my birthday.

GGuest UserFound some hair under the bed that wasn't vacuumed before checking in, didn't fully take all our rubbish.
Decent place to stay at location wise but very small space for a family (especially in the ”king deluxe room”).
Only had 2 towels too despite there being 4 of us.
OOrilla128The service was excellent, and the front desk even helped us call a taxi. The breakfast was fantastic, with a great variety and delicious food – amazing value for money! Our whole family absolutely loved it!!! Highly recommend!! The location is also very convenient, close to the subway station!

GGuest UserWater pressure in both hotel room and onsen was patchy during the 2 nights stay. It was just different when I stayed at urban Nijo this time. Possibly it's shower facility is dated and needed a refresh. Especially the automatic onsen shower spring nob, it turns off almost immediately after pressing. Which requires to keep pressing alot of times to finish showering. Didn't enjoy my time at the onsen.
AAnonymous UserThe room layout and cleanliness were pretty good, and the hotel's location was convenient with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. The breakfast was also great, with fresh food and a good variety. However, I was really surprised to find that some of the daily amenities provided, like a face mask (I only checked its production date), were expired. It was produced in 2020 with a 3-year shelf life, meaning it was over two years past its expiration date! This makes me wonder about the large refillable bottles of bath products, which could also be expired. For this price point, providing expired items is unacceptable and really raises concerns about their quality control.
GGuest UserFor a Japanese hotel, the room was surprisingly spacious. It's conveniently located near Kiyomizu-Gojo train station and Gojo-zaka bus stop. While the breakfast selection wasn't huge, they did offer freshly prepared egg dishes. The hotel's decor is lovely, and there's a bar upstairs. Bicycle rentals are also available. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I noticed a lot of international guests staying here.
XXiaoniunaimamaThe hotel's location is excellent, right across from Kyoto Station. There's also an airport shuttle bus that goes directly to Kansai Airport, making it super convenient for getting around. There are shopping malls and an Aeon supermarket nearby, plenty of dining options, and shopping is really easy. For Japan, the room is quite spacious, enough to open two suitcases in the aisle, so it offers really good value for money. I'll definitely choose to stay here again on my next trip to Kyoto.

GGuest UserKoko Hotel Sanjo was at a convenient location with friendly and helpful receptionist staff who helped us greatly, including sending our luggages to our next hotel. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the lobby is lovely and well decorated. The one gripe I have is that they do not have a water dispenser for topping up our bottles and we had to buy our own drinking water.
DDoraemon_73Great hotel with relaxing onsen facilities, perfect after a long day of exploring. Complimentary coffee and free laundry are thoughtful perks that make the stay very convenient. The room is also very spacious, which adds to the overall comfort. Location is excellent — just a short distance from Kyoto Station, making it easy to get around. Overall, a comfortable and value-for-money stay.

CchrslI had a great stay at RIHGA Gran Kyoto Hotel. The location is extremely convenient — it’s just a short walk from Kyoto Station, which you can easily reach directly from Kansai International Airport via the Haruka Express. This made traveling with luggage very hassle-free.
There are two convenience stores located near the hotel, which is perfect for quick snacks, drinks, or last-minute necessities. There’s also a shopping mall right next to the hotel, making it easy to shop, dine, or relax without having to travel far.
For those driving, there are three parking lots nearby, which is very convenient and stress-free. Overall, the hotel offers excellent accessibility, great surrounding facilities, and a comfortable stay. Highly recommended!
