We had a wonderful stay at Miyako Hotel Kyoto Hachijo. The location couldn’t be more convenient — just across from Kyoto Station, close to AEON Mall, and only a short walk from our car rental shop, which made our trip planning super easy.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They kindly stored our luggage while we traveled for a few nights before returning, which was a huge help. When we checked in, we were pleasantly surprised to receive a room upgrade, and the room itself was spacious, clean, and comfortable.
Overall, excellent service and perfect location for exploring Kyoto. Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort and convenience near Kyoto Station!

I've been to Kyoto many times and always opted for hotels near Kyoto Station. This time, I found a hotel with excellent value for money. Although it's a bit of a walk from Kyoto Station, it's still quite convenient. The Haruka express from Osaka Airport takes just over an hour to reach Kyoto Station. From the Central Exit (towards Kyoto Tower), cross the bus terminal and a major north-south road. Walk north for about 100 meters, and you'll see Yodobashi Camera. Then, cross the road to the east into a small lane (there's a very popular ramen shop in the middle) for about 100 meters, and at the end of that lane, across another main road, is the hotel.
The hotel staff were very friendly, and I even encountered a receptionist who spoke Chinese, which was a pleasant surprise. Check-in was very smooth. A standard 21-square-meter room in Japan is considered quite spacious; we were able to open both of our 26-inch suitcases. The room design in Japanese hotels is always very sensible, clean, and has a separate wet and dry area.
The hotel also has a laundry room and a large public bath (onsen) on the 10th floor. There were quite a few Westerners doing their laundry there. The onsen is spacious and has specific opening hours in the morning and evening. There's a large lounge area at the entrance where you can watch TV. After a day of sightseeing, soaking in the onsen is incredibly relaxing.
There are many restaurants of various types in the vicinity, and there's a 7-Eleven right across from the hotel, which is super convenient. It looks like this will be my go-to hotel for future trips to Kyoto.

The hotel's location isn't ideal; its primary convenience is its proximity to public transport. You'll need to take a bus to reach most places, including Kyoto Station, despite a nearby bus stop.
Breakfast was abundant but lacked flavor. Upon check-in, we were assigned an older room on the second floor and had to request a room change due to the extremely noisy bathroom exhaust fan.
The gym charges a fee for each use, and the public bath, though clean, is quite small.
Housekeeping could be more flexible; for our four-night stay, the room was only cleaned on the fourth day. Cleaning on the third day would have been much more practical. Furthermore, breakfast required selecting a fixed time slot with a voucher.

The stay was wonderful.
Location right infront of Kyoto station & local bus interchange. If you came late from Kansai airport by limousine. the limousine will stop at Kyoto Avanti 3-5min away from this hotel.
If you join day tour, the pick up point is same at Limousine drop of point.
Many 7/11 & restaurants around.
The hotel look very new, room & bed was very comfortable and toilet was very clean. Hotel's staff front deck & housekeeping very polite.
The coffee house open for free hot & cool beverages for guests from afternoon till 10pm.
Will sure book this hotel if we visit Kyoto again.

The hotel is just one stop away from Kyoto JR Station; you step right out into it. There's also a bus stop right outside the entrance. It's very convenient for visiting attractions in Kyoto city. The whole place feels very new and modern. You're required to take off your shoes upon entering the hotel, and walking barefoot throughout the entire premises takes a bit of getting used to. They offer complimentary late-night noodles starting at 9:30 PM daily. In the mornings, there's unlimited Yakult, and in the evenings, free-flow ice pops. Both indoor and outdoor onsen (hot springs) are available. However, since Kyoto likely doesn't have volcanoes, the overall quality of the hot springs can't quite compare to similar hotels in areas like Hakone. P.S. This hotel belongs to the same management group as Mizunone, where I stayed in Hakone last year.

The hotel is brand new, and both its facilities and the surrounding area are great. The room features a separate toilet and bathroom, with the shower and bathtub also thoughtfully partitioned. There's also a spacious public bath on-site, though I didn't get around to using it. You'll find various dining options and convenience stores close by. JR Sagano Line's Umekoji-Kyotonishi Station is incredibly convenient (with trains roughly every ten minutes, just one stop from Kyoto Station), and both the Kyoto Railway Museum and a community park are within 200 meters. Despite this central location, it's surprisingly quiet. (Photo 4, taken from the Kyoto Railway Museum's top floor, offers a good glimpse of the hotel's neighborhood). During our visit, we were also lucky enough to experience the local community's Tanabata Summer Festival (Photo 5). This hotel is truly ideal for a tourist stay. It was, without a doubt, the best hotel experience I had during my entire trip to Japan.

The location is excellent, just a 5-minute walk to the Shijo bus stop and 10 minutes to the subway station. With a FamilyMart conveniently located downstairs, all our breakfast and late-night snack needs were covered.
This hotel offers great value for money. The room was quite spacious, featuring a king-size bed that comfortably accommodated two people. It also came with a small sofa and a table. I was particularly pleased with the ample hangers provided.
A delightful surprise was the onsen (hot spring) bath; it was wonderfully relaxing to soak in it every evening after exploring.
My only minor point of confusion was that while the room was tidied daily, the bed itself wasn't made. It would have been nice if they could at least straighten out the sheets a bit.

The room was quite spacious, about 20 square meters, so there was plenty of space to lay out luggage without any worries. The bathroom was also a good size with a separate wet and dry area. However, I didn't use the shower there as I went to the large public bath on the 9th floor instead. Soaking in it was a great way to relieve the fatigue of a day of travel. The hotel is conveniently located right next to a bus stop, offering easy access to places like the National Museum, Ichiran Ramen (Shijo branch), and Shinshindo Bakery (Shijo branch).

Jjennifer.luThe biggest highlight of this hotel is having a washing machine in the room, which is really a lifesaver when staying here in the summer. Plus, there's complimentary coffee and tea available at the front desk, which is very convenient.
The only downside is that daily housekeeping isn't provided; they only replace towels and empty the trash.
The hotel's location is excellent. There's a 7-Eleven and a Xijiang BBQ restaurant right next door, and Karasuma Oike subway station is just a 100-meter walk away.
Great restaurants like Fiveran and Menya Yukou are also within 100 meters. This is definitely a must-stay hotel when visiting Kyoto.

GGuest UserThe hotel was excellent! We really enjoyed the traditional tatami beds and also booked a private onsen. Both offered great value for money. The location is super convenient, just 400 meters from the station, with a plethora of dining options, supermarkets, and shopping malls right nearby. Getting around was a breeze! The hotel staff provided incredibly warm and fantastic service. We'll definitely be back!

Amazing
GGuominziThe attention to detail at this hotel is exceptional. The hotel's brochure provides incredibly detailed information about all facilities and their origins, covering everything from furniture and bedding brands down to the specific brand of mouthwash cups. The rooms are also spacious, and the air conditioning is remarkably quiet. The bakery in the ground floor lobby is delicious – truly, good ingredients make for great taste! I particularly liked the greenery right at the hotel entrance and the overall decor of the lobby. The only minor drawback is the lack of a convenience store nearby; you have to walk about 500-600 meters to find a FamilyMart.

GGod_zillaThe rooms were immaculate, with exceptional attention to detail in both cleanliness and design. On the fifth floor, there's convenient access to the rooftop, perfect for watching the sunset. The third floor offers freshly ground coffee, while the second floor provides a selection of snacks and beverages, all available to be taken back to your room on a small tray to enjoy. The hotel truly excels in these thoughtful touches. They've also cleverly managed these communal areas, ensuring they are open at times that don't disturb guests, and the second-floor entertainment area even has a card-access partition to maintain peace and quiet. The location is wonderfully serene, away from the city's hustle and bustle, yet incredibly convenient. Right outside, you'll find a FamilyMart to your left and a 7-Eleven to your right. I would absolutely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Kyoto.
