1) This hotel is literally situated on the China-Vietnam border. From my room window, I could see Vietnam, and the front desk even warned me that if I had an iPhone, it might pick up signals from the neighboring country and my time zone could change. The rooftop observation deck offers an even better view of the border scenery, encompassing both Dongxing in China and Mong Cai in Vietnam. 2) When I booked on Trip.com, I specifically requested a non-smoking room, and the hotel front desk truly delivered! The floor and room were genuinely free of any secondhand smoke. Honestly, in a fourth-tier city in (what is arguably the world's number one country for secondhand smoke), this was a rare and pleasant surprise. 3) It's quite close to the Dongxing Port, just a 5-minute walk away. If you want to experience the charm of a border town right from your room, and if you appreciate clean room facilities and fresh, natural air, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Check-in was on the 13th floor, which is also where the afternoon tea, *luosifen* (snail noodles), and coffee are served – basically everything is on the 13th floor. I booked a king-sized bed on the 9th floor. As shown in picture 1, the view was quite nice, but the room was a bit small. Since I was with my elderly parents and wanted a bathtub, I asked the butler if we could switch to a twin room on the 3rd floor. As shown in picture 2, the view wasn't as good as on the 9th floor, but the room was much more spacious, which was great. Room facilities: Smart features, with a TV that can cast from your devices, and a smart toilet. Cleanliness: Very good and clean. Service: Upon arrival, the concierge helped us with our luggage and took us to the 13th floor. The front desk lady added me on WeChat and provided excellent service, helping us switch to a bigger room. When we went out, we asked for amenities to be left in the room, and they provided quite a lot. I got motion sickness and threw up in the sink at night. The front desk lady had an auntie come to clean, and she wasn't at all impatient, saying it was no problem. She cleaned it very thoroughly, which was wonderful! I was feeling too unwell to help my parents with the self-service laundry, but even late at night, the front desk lady was still available and came to assist. The next day, a robot delivered the items to our room door. Overall, the stay was quite good. Due to my health, I threw up several times at night, so I only had some fruit for breakfast. Breakfast: Generally enough to fill you up, but not many drink options. I mainly wanted iced orange juice, haha. Special thanks to 😍😍: The concierge, the front desk lady, and the housekeeping auntie! The front desk lady in picture 9 was amazing! I hope her boss gives her a bonus! 🍗

Out of all my travels in China, this was hands down the BEST hotel I’ve stayed at—and that’s saying a lot. From the moment we arrived, the level of warmth and genuine care from every single staff member stood out immediately. The front desk team was incredible—friendly, patient, and impressively multilingual, which made everything so much easier since my Chinese is limited. But what really made this place unforgettable were the people behind the scenes. The aunties who cleaned our rooms were honestly some of the kindest, most thoughtful people we encountered on our trip. They didn’t just do their job—they went above and beyond in ways that made us feel truly cared for. The kitchen staff were just as amazing. Every interaction felt warm and sincere. They even folded our laundry when we accidentally keft it in the dryer. And let’s talk about the breakfast—phenomenal. Not only was the quality outstanding, but the menu changed daily, which kept things exciting. If you’re debating whether to add breakfast to your stay… just do it. The overall vibe of the hotel is serene, peaceful, and elevated—it genuinely feels like a 5-star experience. And it always smells nice. Location-wise? 10/10. You’re within walking distance of many of Guilin’s main attractions, and right outside the entrance is a lively night market and shopping area. It’s the kind of convenience you don’t fully appreciate until you have it. I was booking for my family, which included three seniors, so my priorities for hotels were: location, cleanliness, safety, and accessibility. This hotel checked every single box—and then exceeded expectations in ways I didn’t even anticipate. If you’re considering where to stay in Guilin, pick this one 10/10. This is a genuine review written from someone who just stayed there and was traveling with her family from California :)

I chose a hotel near Nanning East Station, and it was a quick six or seven-minute taxi ride. There are several residential areas nearby, with convenient small restaurants, convenience stores, and fruit shops. Since I was traveling with my elderly parents and wasn't comfortable letting them stay in a separate room, I opted for a room with a sofa bed. The sofa bed was quite spacious and very comfortable for sleeping. The hotel also thoughtfully provided a non-slip mat in the bathroom, which had a great wet and dry separation. The soundproofing and blackout curtains were excellent, and the air conditioning was quiet. It's really important to find a place where my parents can get a deep sleep when we travel. There's also a laundry room on the sixth floor, which is very convenient, and the hotel offers great value for money.

The environment is quite good, and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is delicious 😋, I especially love the Guilin rice noodles for breakfast. The room isn't big but it's well-designed. The bathroom is a bit small, so they used a diagonal sliding door, and a mirror next to the toilet visually expands the space. The shower has an overhead rain shower, which is quite hygienic. It's right next to榕湖 (Rong Lake), and I took a stroll to the spot where Huang Tingjian moored his boat at night. The lighting was magical, almost like a game – but I'm getting sidetracked! Overall, the surrounding environment is very pleasant and quiet.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Yangshuo and couldn’t be happier with my experience. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the panoramic view from the 6th floor made my stay even more enjoyable. The location is excellent—very convenient and well connected, making it easy to get around and explore the area. The reception staff were especially helpful and friendly, always ready to provide useful information and great recommendations. I also really appreciated the free laundry and dryer service, which was extremely convenient. Another great perk was the discounted scooter rental available for hotel guests—perfect for exploring Yangshuo at your own pace. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and outstanding service! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

My first time staying at a Hampton by Hilton, and the experience was absolutely fantastic. We had requested two rooms on the same floor, and the friendly gentleman at the front desk not only upgraded us immediately but also enthusiastically helped us with local food recommendations. The view from our room was excellent, the room itself was spotlessly clean, and the breakfast offered a great variety. The hotel's location is super convenient, and the underground parking was a huge bonus. This is easily the best hotel I've stayed at recently. Highly recommend!

The room was very spacious, and the facilities were quite new. The twin beds were large, probably 1.35 meters wide, and the mattress was soft yet supportive. The pillows were a bit too long for my liking, which took some getting used to. The air conditioning was excellent, providing strong cooling and heating. There's an underground parking lot available. Breakfast was just average. The hotel's location seems to be on the outskirts of the city, but there's a subway station about 100 meters from the entrance. Although it was advertised as a river view room, I could barely see the river from the room, and the Longxiang Pagoda on Qingxiu Mountain across the river was also almost completely out of sight. The front desk service was good; they even provided a complimentary afternoon tea for two.

This is a truly heartfelt five-star review. My Guangxi trip lasted half a month, with Guilin as the final stop. After considering several hotels, I ultimately chose the Gangshe Hotel. Although my stay was brief, only one day, I was extremely satisfied with the hotel, and a five-star rating is well-deserved. The hotel's location is excellent, very close to Elephant Trunk Hill Park, East West Alley, and the Sun and Moon Twin Pagodas, all within walking distance. Staying here allows you to enjoy beautiful scenery and delicious food while avoiding the noise and crowds. The hotel rooms are spacious, clean, and well-equipped. However, these aren't the main highlights. The hotel's greatest feature is its genuine service. While no hotel is perfect, sincere service truly stands out. From the moment I entered, the lovely lady at the front desk provided full-service assistance, from check-in to personally accompanying me and my luggage to my room. During this time, she thoroughly explained the room's facilities and, via WeChat, provided detailed information about nearby attractions and dining options. The service was incredibly thoughtful. Upon check-out, it was raining heavily in Guilin. The front desk lady helped me hail a taxi and assisted with loading my luggage. She also sincerely inquired about my stay experience, seeking feedback for improvement. This dedication reflects the hotel staff's genuine commitment to both the hotel and its guests. With such excellent employees and high-quality service, the hotel is sure to grow even more and attract a greater number of visitors. I will definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Guilin. I didn't take any photos of the hotel, so I'm including a few photos of the beautiful Guilin scenery I captured as a token of my appreciation.

The location is fantastic; all the food, shopping, and attractions are conveniently nearby. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the shower had great water pressure with both hot and cold water. It was quiet, ensuring a good night's sleep. Definitely recommend staying here.

AAnonymous UserA trainee checked us in and assigned #1005. Upon entering, we noticed a strong cigarette odor. The front desk was courteous and offered two alternative rooms, but both had similar lingering smells. Housekeeping provided an air purifier, which helped somewhat. We also observed guests smoking in the hallway, so the odor seems to be an ongoing issue. As non-smokers who are sensitive to smoke, this was a significant drawback and not something we typically encounter with international hotel brands. There was also some confusion during payment. After showing us the rooms, the trainee realized we had not been charged and brought a POS machine to the room, which did not have a signal. We eventually had to go downstairs and complete three separate transactions via Alipay. Note that Alipay charges a ~3% service fee on transactions over ¥200 when using international cards, which may be inconvenient for some travelers. I have been using my Visa at global hotel brands for over a month and encountered no issues. One frustrating moment was when housekeeping insisted there was no cigarette odor. We understand that perceptions may differ, but it’s important to acknowledge guest feedback, especially for those sensitive to smoke. The bed was comfortable, and sound insulation was average. Despite being on the 10th floor, we could hear traffic noise as well as our neighbors talking and moving furniture. Wi-Fi was also quite slow (2.4 GHz only), with speeds in the teens for both upload and download. Light switches were complicated with options like London, Paris. New York, etc. The hotel isn't a new built and used to be another hotel as you can see from their mugs, towels, etc. Note to myself to book for newly built, not newly opened. The hotel offered us a complimentary breakfast on the 12th floor. The selection was primarily Chinese (about 95%), with minimal Western options. None of the items were labeled, which could be challenging for international guests and those with dietary restrictions. Laundry service is available, either self-service or through staff. However, communication was difficult and the interaction felt unnecessarily complicated. The staff who collected our clothes was talking so loudly that my husband thought we were arguing. In hindsight, we should have done the laundry ourselves The hotel is within a 10 minute walking distance to a food street that has tons of eateries that locals go. It will be difficult to order in non Chinese. Overall, the hotel does not appear to cater well to non-Chinese-speaking guests. Per my husband, despite using the translation app, basic requests (asking for an umbrella) were difficult without Mandarin, which made the experience more tiring. During check out, the front desk offered some dried fruit as a gift and reminded us to give a 5 star rating on everything. This is a common request as we experienced it at a previous hotel. This is our 4th local hotel throughout the 6 weeks visit in China. In summary, while the stay was acceptable, the persistent cigarette odor and communication challenges would prevent us from choosing a similar local hotel again.

GGuest UserThe hotel's location is excellent, just a 15-minute walk from Elephant Trunk Hill and Sun and Moon Pagodas. There are plenty of dining options nearby, and transportation is super convenient. The environment is elegant and clean. All the staff are very enthusiastic, and most importantly, the beds are incredibly comfortable. There's also a small soft play area on the 10th floor, which is highly recommended for families with children – a play area like that is more exciting than any scenic view for kids! 😂

GGuest UserThis hotel in Yangshuo truly saved my trip! ✨ After two noisy nights in West Street, I couldn't take it anymore. On the third day, I decisively moved to the Ten-Mile Gallery, and it felt like I'd discovered a whole new world. The front desk lady, upon hearing I hadn't slept well the night before, immediately arranged an early check-in for me. Her kindness instantly won me over. As someone who pays attention to details, I was deeply impressed: * The floor-to-ceiling windows with triple-pane soundproofing completely blocked out external noise. The room was so quiet, I could hear myself breathe. * Both the room card and its sleeve had the room number printed on them – a thoughtful touch for someone like me who gets lost easily and lacks a sense of security. * The most brilliant feature was the no-in-room-phone design! It's a butler-style communication system; if you need anything, just use WeChat or go to the front desk. No more unplugging the phone and repeatedly confirming with the front desk not to call. I finally got a peaceful night's sleep. * They delivered fruit and candy daily, which was a lifesaver for someone like me who forgets to eat when out and about. Even my vitamin intake was thoughtfully taken care of. The lobby manager was consistently gentle and patient, always resolving issues from the customer's perspective. The off-peak season price was also incredibly friendly. Half of the healing moments on this trip came from this hidden gem of a hotel that truly understands respect and pays attention to detail. 🥹

GGuest UserI arrived pretty early, and the lady at the front desk was kind enough to show me a few rooms so I could pick one. I ended up choosing a room on the 10th floor with a really nice view. The breakfast every morning was great; I loved having a bowl of noodles, and the 7-10 AM breakfast hours were perfect for a late riser like me. The view from the breakfast area was also lovely, and there's a small pool where you can see the Taohua River right from the hotel. Plus, there's a small kids' play area on the 9th floor. And every day when I came back from exploring, the cleaning staff had meticulously cleaned my room.

GGuest UserThe hotel is located right at the Exit 1 of Elephant Trunk Hill Park, with a small gate directly leading into the scenic area. It's super convenient, only a ten-minute walk to the famous Elephant Trunk Hill photo spot, and you don't have to deal with crowds. You can pop out early in the morning for some great photos. I have to give a special shout-out to the complimentary services: my 8-year-old daughter got free costume rental for her travel photos! The photographer was patient and professional, and the service was excellent – we were really impressed. They also offered free afternoon tea, and I especially loved the coffee. All in all, Guilin left a wonderful impression on me. Highly recommend!

GGuest UserI made a last-minute decision to visit Yangshuo and luckily stumbled upon this hotel. It's perfectly situated near Yangshuo West Street, just a few minutes' walk away, surrounded by plenty of local specialty snacks. The front desk staff was incredibly helpful and upgraded me to a mountain view room, which was perfect for my love of taking photos. The room itself was exceptionally clean and tidy, and the bedding was spotless and very comfortable – I slept soundly without any noise. It even had a projector for entertainment, and the breakfast spread was quite varied, featuring local specialties like Luosifen (snail noodles). The hotel staff were all very patient, assisting with itinerary planning and booking tickets. I stayed for two days and had a wonderful, enjoyable time. I'll definitely bring my family back to stay here again next time.

WWeishenmeyaoweinanxiaomaoneOverall, I'd say my experience was pretty average for a four-star hotel. Aside from the service, which was genuinely good, even excellent, there's not much else to praise, and some aspects were actually quite poor. My biggest frustration was the power outage on my first night – it happened twice! Once around 9:30 PM and again around 12:30 AM. I had just finished showering and was about to blow-dry my hair when the power suddenly went out. I had to use my phone light to find my way to dry off. What if an elderly person or a child was in that situation? The first time it happened, I called the front desk, and the power was restored quickly, but I was really angry that it happened a second time. Secondly, there's the showerhead. Even putting aside the somewhat outdated facilities (though this was an upgraded room, as the original one I booked had even older facilities – the hotel did a good job of letting me choose a better room, which was appreciated). The water temperature for showering wasn't great. Not only did cold water come out for a short while even when turned to the hottest setting, but the water itself wasn't very hot, and the water pressure was very low. It was tolerable for showering, but certainly not comfortable. Also, despite having two showerheads, the switch to alternate between them seemed broken, as both would dispense water no matter how I adjusted it. This wasn't a huge issue, but it was annoying to look at. Thirdly, the central air conditioning was clearly very old and hadn't been updated. It was dirty, covered in dust, and the airflow was terrible – there was absolutely no warm air. I didn't test the cold air. Although I reported it, the front desk did bring up a portable heater for me. The cleanliness was okay; no noticeable dust or trash. The service, as I mentioned, was genuinely good. I had breakfast one day, and it was decent enough – not too many choices, but not too few either. However, the issues with the facilities really impacted my overall experience.

MMimosaRA lovely place for staycation. It was so serene and the view, looking at the rice terraces, replenishes one’s soul and relaxes not just your eyes but your whole body. I love the position of the bath tub overlooking the rice terraces and the nearby osmanthus trees. Morning walk along the path and seeing the ready smile of the locals was sweet. The bed and pillow are comfy and clean. Had we stayed for more than 2 nights, I would have used the washing machine in our room 😉 We had our breakfast, not much options but filling, and dinner (not included in the booking fee and the food in the menu are freshly cooked once you order) at the hotel’s restaurant. The hotel staff are accommodating. They even helped us arrange a car to bring us to and from the hotel. Free use of traditional costume for pictorial.

GGuest UserOur stay was excellent! My mom kept raving about how clean the hotel was, the spacious room, and the great service. We originally booked a room in Building B, but the front desk staff upgraded us to Building A because we had a lot of luggage and my mom is older. Building A has an elevator, which was very convenient. The room had a lovely minimalist, natural wood style – exactly what I like – and a small balcony. The balcony faced the mountains, so the air was fresh, and we could hear birds chirping. My mom and I really enjoyed sitting out there and having tea. There's a huge rooftop terrace with breathtaking views of the mountains and the river. The hotel is super close to West Street, about a 30-meter walk, but despite West Street being bustling, the hotel itself was very quiet. I'd definitely stay here again next time and recommend it to my friends. Overall, a fantastic experience! It's also very close to all the surrounding scenic spots.
