"We were disappointed in our stay. When we booked, we specifically selected ”water view” and the room was advertised as having 2 ”queen” beds. Although perhaps both were technically true, we certainly felt ripped off. The view we had was actually into the atrium where you could technically see the water through a window all the way across the atrium - a couple hundred feet away. The beds may have been bigger than full but were at least 6” less than a typical 60” wide queen. Since we paid extra for the view we didn't feel it was worth the price. The room out of that context was nice, but it had no complementary bottled water or coffee and at checkout we were told that was due to Covid somehow which made no sense to us. The walls were also pretty thin and it felt like someone was flushing the toiled right next to me while I was in bed. Overall it was clean and the staff was friendly but it was not what we expected for $700/night."

"Pros: The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Complimentary tea and coffee were a nice touch. The breakfast was delicious, and interestingly, it worked like a regular restaurant where you get a bill and hand over the voucher you received at check-in. The location was great. Cons: They said construction noise would only continue until 5 PM, but I heard several loud, machine-like noises well past 8 PM. I almost asked to change rooms, but the noise eventually died down so I let it go. Also, there were two bottles of water in the room, but unless you’re a Hilton Silver member or above, they charge $3 each. If I had other options, I probably wouldn’t stay here again."

"I am how genuinely happy my recent stay was at The Loom. From the moment I arrived, everything felt thoughtful, welcoming, and exceptionally well-run. Check-in was smooth and professional, and the front desk team immediately set the tone—warm, efficient, and genuinely hospitable. After a long day of travel, it was refreshing to be greeted by people who clearly care about guest experience.  Throughout my stay, every interaction felt consistent: friendly, attentive, and proactive without being intrusive. Whether it was a quick question, a request, or simply passing staff in the hallway, the level of professionalism and kindness was noticeable. It’s rare to see that kind of consistency across an entire team, and it made the stay feel effortless. My room was spotless, quiet, and extremely comfortable. The bed and linens were excellent, and I slept better than I expected. I also appreciated the small details—well-maintained amenities, a clean bathroom, strong water pressure, and a layout that felt functional and relaxing. It’s clear that housekeeping takes pride in their work.Fully maintained and had a calm, polished feel. Common areas were clean and inviting, and the overall atmosphere felt both upscale and comfortable. I also appreciated how safe and organized everything felt, especially during busy periods. The breakfast/restaurant experience was excellent—fresh, well-presented, and a great start to the day. The service was just as strong as the rest of the property. The location was also a major plus—convenient and easy to navigate, with everything I needed close by. It made the entire trip smoother. Overall, this was one of the better hotel experiences I’ve had in a long time. Thank you for delivering a stay that felt genuinely high-quality from start to finish. I’ll absolutely be returning the next time I’m in Providence"

"The a/c in the room was not working, and I had to get ready for an event. It was in the 80's that day and room located on top floor so very hot. Maintenance did come and fix, but it took quite some time for it to kick in and cool the room down. That night when I got back, I turned the tv on. Apparently remote batteries died, and I could not change channel or turn tv back off. Had to call maintenance again around midnight. They had to go behind tv to turn it off (tv was hung on wall and I was not able to reach the plug to do it myself). There is NO water pressure; my daughter did not wash her hair for the 2 nights we were there because it would have taken forever. I also rented a second room for my son and his wife; they arrived from out of state to also get ready for an event, and their room had no outlets that worked. They too had to call maintenance so they could get ready. They were late for the event. The hotel is not located in the downtown location, so do not expect to walk anywhere except the casino which is across the street. Very overpriced."

Get a feel for Rhode Island's iconic capital city at Renaissance Providence Downtown Hotel. Dating back to the 1920s, our building once served as a Masonic Temple; it has since been renovated to offer a unique blend of historic architecture and modern amenities. Enjoy easy access from our hotel in Providence, RI to prominent downtown destinations including Brown University, the Providence Performing Arts Center and the Rhode Island School of Design. Order a meal straight to your door with our delicious room service or head to our signature restaurant for superb American cuisine, paired with refreshing cocktails. Consider one of our nine on-site venues for your upcoming event, enhanced by audiovisual facilities and comprehensive planning and catering services. Retire to your luxurious hotel room or suite and relax amidst sleek décor, complimentary Wi-Fi, mini-refrigerators and marble bathrooms. Whatever the reason for your travels, find a welcome reprieve from the everyday at our Providence hotel.

"Facilities: Standard four-star hotel facilities, felt better than Renaissance hotels in China. The hotel facilities aren't new, and the style is somewhat similar to Ritz-Carlton in China, but they are well-maintained. The rooms are also very spacious. We stayed on the top floor, and the view was great. Cleanliness: The room was very clean. Environment: The hotel's location is excellent, right by the state government offices, and next to a large shopping mall. The mall's parking garage charges $20 for an overnight stay, which is acceptable, and it's clean and safe. It's convenient to eat here. The Cheese Factory on the first floor of the mall is open until past 10 PM, so late arrivals don't have to worry about not finding food. If you don't have breakfast included, you can also grab breakfast at the bakery on the first floor of the mall; there's a good variety of choices and it's not expensive. Service: The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming, and I didn't experience any discrimination."

"Let's talk about the highlights first. The hotel provides a shuttle to the city. Although it is very close, it is inconvenient to park by yourself. The hotel driver is very friendly and the recommended Hemingway restaurant is very good When checking in, the hotel repeatedly charged the room fee. When checking out, I found out and negotiated but never returned it. After that, I contacted Ctrip to deal with it and gave Ctrip a thumbs up."

The hotel was very clean, super nice rooms, comfortable mattresses. The beds are VERY high so a step stool would be so helpful for getting in and out. Just something you could slide beneath the bed. Also there were no spoons or stirrers or napkins, if you wanted to make coffee in the handy kitchenette area. And it would be very nice to have at least one comfortable chair in the room if you want to sit with a cup of tea or coffee - otherwise you have to climb up and sit on the bed, or on the not-so-comfortable, but handy, bench at the foot of the bed.
