EL Nido Hotels with Bars

"This hotel is really, really great, I loved it! Even though I stayed in a shared four-person room, it didn't bother me at all because almost every day (from morning till evening) we were out on excursions or somewhere else. The staff are friendly and caring, rooms are cleaned daily, and the showers and toilets are communal (but there are also a few separate stalls just for women). The breakfasts are delicious and varied – I would fly back to the Philippines again just for these breakfasts! Because here, I only had truly good food three times: first in Cebu, second at the hotel's breakfast, and third at an Italian restaurant in El Nido, that's it! In the shared room, you get a towel, a locker with a lock, and a large bed (unlike other similar hotels). I'm thrilled!"

"I really liked the hotel and the beach itself. There are sun loungers, showers, toilets, and a small pool within the glamping area. Vendors aren't allowed on the property, so you won't be bothered. It can be a bit noisy in the room in the evenings/at night due to nature sounds – some might not like it, but we found it pleasant to fall asleep to. The mountain view from the room is beautiful, but if you look down, it's a bit of a swamp and a parking lot – not so great. Breakfasts are modest, machine coffee costs extra, and the fruits and vegetables are bland (except for the mango). Food and drink prices aren't cheap, but everything is good quality. Right outside the fence on the beach, there are several cafes, shops, and massage places. Upon check-in, we received some welcome gifts: 2 bottles of water, apples, nuts, instant noodles, and a shell necklace! And upon check-out, we got some small pastries. Transfers to/from El Nido airport or to the town center cost 1800 PHP for a minivan. Pros: Large, nice-looking rooms, plenty of towels, spotless white linens. Cons: Weak shower pressure, no handheld showerhead (only a rain shower), and no place to dry clothes."

"What a pool and what a sunset! Definitely worth a stay! Location is a bit away from town however close to all the best sunset spots. Clean and the service was fantastic. Decent buffet breakfast, and a nice late check out. The pool and happy hour made the whole experience. Would stay again."

"Hotel Cuna is a solid 3-star. The rooms are simple, no frills, but clean and generally fine for staying in El Nido. The staff is a big plus for the hotel: Filipinos are very kind, welcoming, and eager to help. It's worth noting that some rooms face a farm where chickens and roosters can crow loudly at night – that was my experience. My request to change rooms directly with the hotel was unsuccessful, and contacting them through Trip.com also yielded no results. The main advantage of the hotel is its rooftop restaurant and bar: the food is very tasty, and there's a stunning view of the city and the sea, especially at sunset. For the rooftop restaurant and the views alone, the hotel is definitely worth considering."

"I was honestly a bit disappointed with this resort. When you see the word “resort” and pay resort prices, you expect a certain standard. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to that. The bed only had a thin sheet with no proper bedding, there was no water provided in the room, and parts of the property felt quite run down with visible rust. The bathroom, especially the shower area, could really use a deep clean. Breakfast was okay, nothing special. There were four different WiFi networks, but none of them worked properly and the connection was very slow. The staff did warn me about this in advance. That being said, the staff were absolutely amazing. Reception went above and beyond by helping with my large bags, doing my laundry, organizing tours and transport, and assisting with everything I needed. Truly a chef’s kiss to the team. They were the highlight of my stay. With some upgrades and better maintenance, this place could match the price they’re charging. Right now, it’s the staff that make the experience worthwhile."

"The hotel looks nice from the outside, but everything inside felt dirty and poorly maintained. Initially, we were put in a room overlooking vents and a noisy street, even though we had specifically requested a quiet room when booking. The hotel was accommodating and moved us to a different room. However, I have to say, the soundproofing is poor; you can hear everything happening outside very clearly. Especially the motorcycles going by and the rooster crowing in the mornings! The cleaning was terrible – everything was dusty and grimy. And they'll only clean your room if you remember to hang the 'make up room' sign on the door. Breakfast was a letdown; the selection was very limited. The cheese was awful and clearly the cheapest kind. There was no cold cuts or ham. Breakfasts here felt more like lunch or dinner. You're better off going to local cafes for breakfast. On the positive side, the location is good, and the pool area is beautiful with a fantastic view. This hotel might be suitable for a short stay, but definitely keep the aforementioned issues in mind."

"I'm not picky and we travel a lot, so I have plenty to compare with. But here, I was shocked by the sheer number of negatives all in one hotel. We stayed in two different room categories (including a suite). For its price range, this hotel was a huge disappointment (this is our third hotel on Palawan, all located near beaches, and the prices were more or less the same). Inside, even on the bed, there were tiny ants crawling around. Breakfast isn't included, and the rooms aren't cleaned. Once, throughout our entire vacation, I asked them to clean the room and change the bedding. They came by evening, but they just took the towels and didn't replace them, saying everything was being washed 🙃. After showering, I had to dry myself with a dirty t-shirt because nothing in the room dries properly. The Wi-Fi constantly cut out, and for the last few days, it didn't work at all. Overall, it was a complete misunderstanding; the only saving grace was the ocean view from the room! There was mold on the walls, I even saw spots on the mattress. The extractor fan in the shower didn't work at all, the toilet seat was loose, and there was hardly any water pressure in the sink and shower, just a tiny trickle (I assume for economy — even in the suite) – I've attached photos (notice how the faucet is installed). On the last day, the air conditioning even started leaking. There's no safe, and the door lock sometimes fell out with the key, and I had to reinsert it into the hole. If you want a somewhat comfortable stay, only book the suite; the price difference isn't that much. The TV is in the photos, but it's not actually there, though we didn't need it anyway."

"Everything about this hotel was amazing, but most of all, the staff (hotel and restaurant) was excellent and the highlight of our stay. They were respectful, called us by name every time they would see us, and went out of their way to cater to our every whim. The view from the bar is amazing and their authentic Philippino cuisine top notch. I am not vegan or vegetarian but the vegan restaurant was excellent, I didn't want to eat anywhere apart from the restaurant hotels and portions were huge and very reasonably priced. We had a Seaview room and it was stunning. The room also has a mini fridge, a Dyson hairdryer, a TV with Netflix and Prime (log in with your own account), a safe and a swinging chair in front of the window. The balcony is small but has a bench and a drying rack. The hotel provides beach towels. They also provided free airport shuttles and arranged all our excursions. They don't have laundry services but there are laundry services within a few steps from the hotel. There are also a great bakery, ATMs, a night street market and plenty of other bars and restaurants within a short walking distance of the hotel. There isn't a phone in the room but the hotel uses WhatsApp to communicate and it worked super well. I would stay there again and can highly recommend!"

"Glad we stayed in this hotel! It's close to Lio Beach, where there are mild waves that you can surf. Also, there are many restaurants around the beach so you can literally just stay at Lio Beach to chill and relax without any hassles. Staff are super friendly. Just one point to note, they marked 2 queen beds for twin beds type however it's actually 2 single beds so don't be mistaken. Also, there are construction projects happening -they start at 730 am and end at 9pm, if you are a light sleeper that maybe an issue. Luckily the staff said the project should end early next year, let's hope it's not delay haha."

"The stay started great for us. We thought for the price the room would be a little more soundproof but lo and behold since it is essentially a duplex type villa, you can hear the slightest sound from the other ”villa” from upstairs since the walls are thick but the upper partition that separates the vaulted ceilings from the other room was prolly only made of plywood. At night, my friends and I (we were a group of 3 girls) were exchanging gifts but not even 5 minutes later, we received a noise complaint from our next door neighbor which unfortunately dampened our stay. We thought we were just extra noisy since we were all giddy and everything but in the morning, when we just woke up, we could audibly hear the conversation of the family from the other room so the room for its price was really paper thin. The room and amenities in itself was beautiful and clean and we wanted to stay another night upon seeing it but it not being soundproof for its price was such a killer. "
