"The location of this hotel is good, close to the sight seeing points at the city center, and near to stops of buses and trams. Good to go to the nearby Calton Hill to have a panoramic view of the city. However, there are steps at the entrance of the hotel, and few steps on every level even after taking a lift, so, be careful when you have heavy / large lugguages."

"The hotel facilities were decent, and the room itself was quite spacious. The front desk staff were very patient; upon check-in, I mentioned my preferred room location, and they patiently discussed it with me. We were on the second floor, though I imagine higher floors would offer better views. There's a large supermarket nearby. The bathroom had a bathtub, but the toilet area felt a bit cramped. The hotel was very clean. The main drawback is that it's a bit far from the city center. A taxi to Princes Street cost us around £8-£10, while a bus fare is a little over £2. For groups, a taxi is more cost-effective. The journey typically takes about 10-20 minutes. Breakfast was a decent English buffet, with options like bacon, scrambled eggs, bread, and juice. They offered both firm and soft pillows, which was a thoughtful touch. After checking out on the second day, we stored our luggage at the Scottish National Gallery. It cost £2 for a locker token, and you could store items until 5 PM. The locker was spacious enough for a 20-inch carry-on suitcase plus a backpack. The gallery is very close to the train station, which was very convenient as it meant we didn't have to return to the hotel to collect our luggage after exploring the city center."

"Overall it was a nice stay but it was a mixed experience. What we loved - The room was lovely, we were really happy with the amenities available in the room. We booked a studio and it came with 2 double beds, good kitchen amenities, large bathroom, washer and dryer and a pretty cool skylight with a black out blind (we were in room 411 on the 4th floor) - Staff were lovely and polite - Location was ideal as it wasn't too far from the station and had plenty of shops, cafes and Christmas activities around. What we didn't like - The room wasn't as clean as we'd hoped. One of the rooms has dust behind the door and the vents for the A/C needed dusting. - There was a little confusion over whether I'd paid, I paid beforehand with Trip.com and it didn't register with them, so they asked for me to pay when checking in, if I hadn't checked I may have needed too. (Also if you're booking, it may be worth going direct as there was a nearly £30 difference between the price I paid through trip.com and what I was 'invoiced' following our stay) - They ran out of shampoo and it had clearly been filled up with water to compensate (not major but if you're paying nearly £200 a night these are the small details I'd expect to be addressed -Finally, this one is for the staff, you have a cool radio in the room in 411 but please check the plug socket as is cuts out and you can hear the electricity buzzing when you plug the socket in. Didn't have any noise issues and I would definitely stay again, though I don't think I'd pay the price I did for it again. (Hotel was charging £158.95, Trip.com charged me £183)"

"the hotel was so clean and modern, with a really big room -- more than enough for 2 people. the location was so great because it was right beside a theatre and we cld even catch a last minute show there! the hotel was close to our needs ie shopping, sightseeing at the royal mile and city centre."

"Mixed experience – not quite 4-star quality for the price I recently stayed at the Edinburgh Marriott Hotel and, unfortunately, had to request a room change upon arrival. The first room didn’t feel like what you’d expect from a 4-star hotel, especially at nearly £200 per night. It was very basic—no carpet, no robe, and no slippers. The room felt empty, more like a budget option than a premium stay. We were moved to another room, which did have a carpet, but it was essentially the same situation—still no slippers or robe etc. That said, there were a few positives: the location is great, the breakfast was really nice, and the pool itself was a good facility. Overall, I might stay here again, but only if the price reflects the actual experience. At this rate, I expected a bit more attention to detail and comfort."

"The rooms are extremely compact but adequately equipped with the essential amenities, making them suitable for a one-night stay or, at most, a two-night stay. Regrettably, I experienced an extremely unpleasant and concerning incident involving a staff member at the coffee house during breakfast. The Caucasian female staff member appeared to display discriminatory behaviour by repeatedly asking me to leave, while allowing white guests to remain. I find this conduct unacceptable and deeply troubling. The matter has been reported to hotel management, and I trust that a thorough investigation will be conducted and appropriate corrective action taken to prevent such incidents in the future."

"Facilities: Excellent and thoughtfully designed. Though compact, they are incredibly well-equipped, which is quite impressive for an international location. Cleanliness: Spotless, truly on par with the high standards I expect back home. Environment: Impeccably clean and well-maintained throughout. Service: Superb, and breakfast was included. Overall, the service quality is genuinely outstanding, easily matching the level of Marriott Group hotels in China."

"This was the most satisfying hotel we stayed at in Edinburgh, though it was quite pricey. The bed wasn't huge, but the bathroom was very spacious. The towel drying rack was a lifesaver, allowing us to dry clothes and trousers we'd been wearing for days. Breakfast was very satisfying and plentiful. The staff kindly helped us arrange a taxi when we checked out, ensuring we made it to our train on time. It's less than 1 km from the train station, but with luggage, navigating the steep hills and cobblestone streets was quite a workout. A taxi would definitely be a better option for those with heavy bags. There are plenty of dining options nearby, and the location is generally convenient for exploring the city."

"it was a great experience. The ambiance was very nice 24 seven there was a receptionist and also the cleanliness was good and food is also good. I would highly recommend someone who is visiting Edinburgh to stay there because it’s closer to the town. It’s very affordable and and one of the best places to be around very close to the Dean village as well."

"Great location, literally opposite Haymarket train station, which made getting around super easy. Room was clean and comfortable, staff were friendly, and check-in was smooth. Rooms are a bit small but fine for a short stay. Overall a convenient and pleasant place to stay in Edinburgh."
