"The rooms were reasonably spacious and clean. However, the breakfast selection was quite limited. At checkout, I repeatedly mentioned that one of the rooms had an 11-year-old child. According to the rules, if they charge 100 JPY per person per day for the hot spring and 200 JPY for accommodation, then the child should be exempt from the hot spring fee for all three days of our stay. Unfortunately, the staff completely ignored my explanation."

"This was the best hotel of our trip. From check-in to check-out, we felt the warmth and saw the smiles of the staff throughout. The included dinner was delicious and exquisite. The set breakfast was also pretty good. The hotel offers a variety of entertainment activities and facilities, so you won't get bored at all, and the environment is beautiful. The only downside is that the soundproofing isn't great; you can hear doors opening and closing from upstairs and next door."

"Loved our stay in the Maisonnette Double Room! The loft design was a fun touch and gave us plenty of space to relax. The hotel feels very new, clean, and stylish. Hygiene: Generally average.
Environment: Excellent location, right across from the canal. It's an easy downhill walk from the train station if you have luggage. The reverse is quite strenuous. A taxi ride is just the minimum fare (700).

"Following the navigation on Ctrip leads to the correct building, but Google Maps directs you to the annex, which is a five to six-minute walk away. The annex doesn't have a front desk; check-in is done via self-service machines. In the main building, Indian staff are available to assist with machine check-in. The hotel is conveniently located, just a three to five-minute walk from JR Station and Otaru Canal. The location is excellent, and the rooms are standard small. There's a public bathhouse available. "Considering it's right across from the station, the outdoor hot spring area is surprisingly well-designed to create a sense of tranquility amidst the bustling surroundings – it's a really nice touch. "Honestly the only praise to give to this hotel is the staff attitude and the location which is near the canal. The staffs were-Helpful and dedicated .
I can accept the hotel is old and not so spacious. But one thing I really can’t take it is the level of the bathroom. I can’t understand why the level is so high. We need to step a big leap to climb in order to get into the bathroom. Also to get into the bathtub to stand to shower was dangerous too. It was unbelievable deep. I almost fell.
This hotel is really not suitable for elderly people. And need to pay extra careful attention when you climb to the bathroom and to the bathtub.
Sometimes I do not understand why can’t just list out that you would need to collect onsen tax. If I know I need to pay for that I would not want to choose this hotel. Because I do not go for the onsen."

"Location is excellent, right amongst the main shopping malls, seafood markets, restaurants and commercial streets. You can see the TV tower from some of the rooms and the rooftop barbecue site. The check-in process is however painfully slow. The staff forgot to give us water (supposedly one would receive one bottle per night per person at the reception). The room card we received was also not working... The room albeit clean and tidy was rather barebone and small. It's quite rare nowadays to have a hotel of this pricing not to offer a TV. The breakfast was also very simple. 4 types of crepes. And some very limited choices of food items. I would recommend this hotel to people looking for a quick resting spot with easy access to main visiting spots and having no high requirements for hotel amenities."

The walk to the carpark required negotiating a slippery gravel slope, which was even more dangerous in low-light conditions. Recommend to improve this with proper stairs or paved pathway."

This is a stunning little seaside hotel. It's about a 20-minute train ride from Otaru Station to Shioya Coast. There are really no restaurants nearby, so when I contacted the hotel in advance, they highly recommended I book their special Japanese-French dinner. The basic price was 8,800 yen per person. Since I was already there, I decided to go all out and ordered the premium set with two extra appetizers for 14,300 yen. I also added two glasses of wine, one Hokkaido-produced and one American, for a little over 2,000 yen. The restaurant, with its breathtaking ocean views, truly delivered an amazing emotional experience.
The wind and waves were incredibly strong and it was super cold that evening; the weather was a bit overcast. Our room had a small balcony where we could open the door and sit to watch the sea. The room itself was quite spacious, with a sofa. The pillow was half soft and half buckwheat, so I ended up only using the firm buckwheat side. The mattress was just right, not too soft and not too hard, which was great for my back.
Since it was my birthday month, after contacting them in advance, they gave me a beautifully handwritten birthday card. It was a truly touching experience.

We arrived at the hotel later and the driver couldn't find the door and helped us find it, but after a while, a staff member ran down and asked if we had booked a room, really running! ! Then the driver parked the car, then helped us pick up our luggage, and ran up again! ! ! The service was so good that our whole family was stunned! !
Entering the hotel, the air conditioning is very good, because the outside is -10 degrees, but the interior is very warm, and not baked, so very comfortable, the room is not big, but with all the traditional Japanese room things, the furnishings are very beautiful, However, if the luggage is larger and more, it becomes very crowded, but actually feels like home.
Because one night two meals, so there is a full dinner breakfast, are exquisite kaiseki cuisine, each meal also have staff to the room in advance to lead us to the restaurant, their own room, no one disturbed.
The hot spring area has indoor and outdoor, not big, but enough, we soaked twice and did not bump into anyone, chartered, great! !
After check out, the staff bowed to not see our car! ! There is a traditional Japanese etiquette! ! !
We will definitely come back to experience this one! ! !

Ivy_Oh1. Hotel is 8mins walk from Otaru train stn/ bus stn.
2. Surrounded with many restaurants and walking distance to Sankaku market, Otaru canal as well as Sakaimachi Hondori street.
3. Room size was just nice, and bed were comfortable
4. Free coffee and biscuits provided from 7am-6pm.
5. For the breakfast you can choose between Japanese or Western breakfast.
6. No self service laundry facility on-site.
Overall we had a pleasant stay.

Anonymous UserIt was a cute boutique hotel with nice bonus facilities! Room is nicely designed and functional, with warm colors feel homey and comfy. Too bad we didn’t get the bath tub room as they were fully booked. Views from the window is mountaneous area, very nice! Bed and pillows are comfortable. Surface area for stuff are generous and practical, even enough space for sofa. Too bad they don’t give free coffee or at least instant coffee, only tea. No onsen. Music box night was awesome! Feels like a romantic dinner setting, but the smell of lamp oil was too much, gave me headache so I couldn’t stay for long, even though I would love to support the hotels and all of the polite and friendly staff by dining there. Staff are wonderful, smiles and polite and professional! During this trip we felt like Japanese staff in general are becoming a bit cold toward tourists but this hotel’s staff are not like that! We appreciate you guys. Thank you!

Guest UserThis is a comfortable boutique hotel in Otaru. The room is cozy with the barrel the most interesting feature that doubles up as a table and a fridge. The buckwheat pillow is comfortable for a good night rest. What impressed me the most is the breakfast. There is a wide array of food including seafood and fresh milk. Onsen is comfortable too. Overall I will strongly recommend this hotel in Otaru as it’s still new and tip top service and amenities.

Facilities: The hotel is quite old, and while the facilities are in good condition, they aren't exactly modern. Surprisingly, there's a vintage audio system that plays music with a great ambiance from a bygone era. The sound quality also has that classic feel, which I loved. It's definitely worth experiencing this unique charm that other hotels don't offer.
Service: Standard hotel service, but they upgraded my room without me even asking, which was a nice touch!
Transportation: Even though the hotel is on a mountaintop, they offer a shuttle service to the nearest JR station, which is a huge plus. The Otaru Aquarium is just a few steps away, and the dolphin show is fantastic, plus the penguins are adorable.
Scenery: This hotel probably boasts the most unique coastal cliff views in Otaru. It's truly postcard-worthy, and the best part is being able to enjoy it while soaking in the hot spring during the day. The scenery is beautiful and enjoyable. At night, however, you can't see anything.
Hygiene: Standard hotel cleanliness.
Food: I only stayed overnight and didn't try the food.

Guest UserWe stayed for four nights, and the ski package we booked was a good deal. However, on the first day, the staff at the ski rental shop seemed a bit unfamiliar with the process, which caused us quite a bit of hassle.
The hotel's advantages are very clear. We chose it specifically for the convenient ski access. Every day, after skiing, being able to enjoy the hot springs before the crowds arrived was incredibly pleasant, especially since it was snowing during our stay, which made for a unique experience.
We had dinner at the restaurant a few times. Since we made same-day reservations, our choices were limited, and our dining times were somewhat restricted. Despite the limited selection, the dinner food was good and not expensive.
The downsides were also quite noticeable. Firstly, the moment I opened the toilet lid upon check-in, I found a curly hair, which was a real turn-off. It might have been an issue with the specific room we were assigned (this room was inexplicably next to the garbage room); the layout was a bit strange, and there were no bedside tables, which was very inconvenient.
I personally felt that the staff's service attitude was good, but my spouse mentioned that he used polite language when communicating with the front desk, and he was surprised that they did not reciprocate the same level of courtesy.

Terrible service! On a snowy day, they kept saying there was no transportation, but I clearly saw the Line 13 bus passing by. I don't recommend staying here. Plus, their English isn't good, making communication difficult.

I booked for RM150, and this is my best hotel I stayed in Sapporo. The location is near the tourist area but its within neighborhood area, and its uphill. So for anyone with luggage might be struggling a bit if u dont have car. But, the view is amazing, and they gave me a room with snow view as i requested. The room are spotless, comfortable and have personal heater inside. The staff also very friendly and accomodating esp when I asked to borrow a charger. The public bath also big and u might have it all to yourself honestly (not that many guest during my stay). I would love to come back!
