"Stayed at Sho Inn for 1 night in Otaru. It’s a little out of the way from the Otaru station if you do not drive, but they offer shuttle service to the Otaru Canal and Otaru station when you check out! The host Hideshi was incredibly kind, even going the extra mile to bring my neck pillow, which I had accidentally left in the accommodation after check out, to the Otaru station at my preferred time that evening. It was a gesture testament of the great hospitality of the Japanese. Would definitely recommend this place especially if you’re a solo traveller / prefer your own private space instead of going to those hostels with double deckered beds and curtains!"

"Thumbs up! 👍 Since we were on a road trip, having the car parked right outside our room was a huge plus. The hotel's location is excellent – lively but quiet, with absolutely no noise at night. Even though it's a self-service hotel, a staff member helped us during check-in, and they cleared snow every morning. I stayed for five nights, and the room was cleaned after the third night. The hotel amenities were plentiful, with unlimited bath towels and pajamas provided, and even a hair straightener in the room. The staff were very thoughtful. When it was cold, they would turn on the heating while I was out, so I'd come back to a warm room. There were also extra blankets in the room, perfect for lounging on the sofa. My biggest worry before checking in was that the shower wouldn't have hot enough water, but that was completely unfounded – the hot water was super hot! Overall, there's absolutely nothing to complain about. It's fantastic, and I'll definitely stay here again on my next road trip."

"You will feel comfy and relaxed, like sitting and slaying at your home. We're 4 pax and stayed 1 night, but feel hommy and humble in everything here. Our room can fit 4-6 pax. Pls enjoy here if you love English country style!!"

"As a money-saving travel residence, it is very good, a bit like a dormitory, the tourists around are very tired and go to bed early, very clean environment. The first floor is the bar, 2 o'clock in the evening or before what time is it open?"

"If you are not driving, this place is a best place to stay with as overall house amenities are comfortable, modern and feeling good. But for anyone driving there, do consider again as the journey towards to the carpark are slippery, more than 10degree slope, it is dangerous and scarry to me eventhough equipped with snow tyre even though for myself that have been driving in many countries in Europe, Asia and Australia."

"The overall price of the room is very high and clean. 300 yuan a night is still very big. What facilities have washing machine hair dryer heating kitchenware refrigerator microwave kettle, but there is no air conditioning Hokkaido summer hot, there is still about 25 degrees at night. The room temperature will be higher than outside. Summer to live. It will be hotter but it is invincible in winter. It is recommended to bring a small fan in summer. Another problem is that the curtains in the light room are very short and cannot completely cover the window. After sunrise, the room will be very bright and I don’t know why the room mainly installs the escape lights in the room. Sleeping at night can’t be turned off. It will be very bright. It is recommended to wear an eye mask to sleep. Generally speaking, it is OK. It is worth the price. It should come to live in winter."

"I was very satisfied. It's a great place for those who prefer quiet accommodations like me. I stayed alone for 2 nights and 3 days, and I was very satisfied with the cleanliness, space and price of the hostel. The location of the hostel is adjacent to famous tourist spots like Otaru Music Hall and Otaru Ungji, and there are locals living around, so I felt like I was in the daily life of the locals. It is also about 10-15 minutes walk from Otaru Station, so it is easy to move to other cities.  I would like to stay again if I come to Otaru again next time."

"Sakurayuki is a very good accommodation for family and its location is quite convenient for taking a walk trough each scenic spot around Otaru Canal. Each staff therein is very amicable to the visitor who stay over night(s). To me, I will go and visit this place again and woild like to highly recommend any of visitors like me to stay over night(s) in this guesthouse."
