"Bathroom facilities on trip.com description there's towel so I thought like the usual 1 free but on the site, the staff said no free towel at all and need to pay 200 yen. You should update Bathroom facilities (scratch the towel amenity)
Other than that, it is very great hostel, biggest shared bathroom I ever see (all 3 toilet, wastafel and shower room in one) And very good facilities, though it's a bit inconvenience if you have room at 2nd floor (elevator will stop at 3rd floor if going up, so you will go to 3nd then 2nd)"

"An impeccable hotel. The rooms were clean and well-equipped. The water heater was a Rinnai, so the hot water was plentiful and hot. The only downsides were that the TV wasn't a smart TV, so no YouTube, and there were limited laundry facilities – only two washing machines in the lobby. The location is absolutely superb, right next to Otaru Station, with the Sankaku Market just downstairs. A block to the west, there's a 7-Eleven and a Toyota car rental. A block to the right, there's a building with shops, a large supermarket, and a Don Quijote. The canal is a short walk north from the hotel. Even walking to Gaja for all-you-can-eat beef only took 15 minutes."

"The main building for check-in is really close to JR station. Just exit, go straight, turn left after you see Lawson, and then another left at the intersection. It's about 400 meters. The hotel is spread out in several areas. After check-in, the staff told us our villa was another 10-minute walk away. Luckily, there's a shuttle service both ways. It meant we were quite a distance from the onsen, but that was okay since we'd already had plenty of hot spring baths on our trip.
I was pleasantly surprised by the villa's location – it was fantastic! Tucked away in an alley near the shopping street along the canal. The space was huge and well-equipped, and having an entire standalone villa was incredibly comfortable. I didn't encounter any of the issues other reviewers mentioned, so I'm very satisfied!"

The facilities are incredibly clean, and the owner is exceptionally kind.
The Hokkaido-style breakfast was absolutely amazing.
The small private bath was perfect for solo use.
Highly recommend if you're visiting Otaru!!!

"Other places raised their prices dramatically over the weekend, but this place had similar prices on weekdays and holidays, around 2650 yen. However, it's located halfway up a hill, so it can be tiring for people with suitcases or heavy luggage. It has Japanese-style tatami rooms, and the doors to the two rooms are very thin, offering virtually no soundproofing. The kitchen is fully equipped 👍, suitable for those who want to cook local ingredients. I only had one night and didn't have time to cook, just heated up supermarket food. Lights out is at 11 PM, which is good because you can go to bed early for better health, but the downside is that you don't have time to shower because there's only one shower room! There are separate toilets for men and women. I was woken up by the sunlight around 5 AM because the Japanese-style room had no curtains, and I could hear the man next door snoring, making it impossible to fall back asleep 🥲.
The female staff were quite friendly. Regarding luggage storage, it's possible before check-in, but not after check-out. (For others' reference, some places allow luggage storage until 4 PM after check-out.)"

"Positive:
1. Great Location decent size room with double sized beds with big space to move around compare to most other Japanese hotel
2. love the indoor parking at basement garage, especially during winter no snow cleaning required every morning.
Negative:
1. lift is out of service, very inconvenient for people with big luggage, had to carry all the way up to the 3rd Floor.
2. Fake carpets on stairs, almost tripped over couple of times.
3. Owner never responds when assistance needed, upon on check-in, the pin code been given is useless because the room door are always unlocked, actual key is placed on the table in the room. Tried to contact the owner via WeChat WhatsApp line phone calls none of above responded, just seemed like the hotel is unmanned the whole time.
4. Had a little incident one morning where one of the guest parked his car right front of the parking garage door, which blocked my way out, again had to contact the owner, never responded, got no choice but to contact police for help."
A space that stimulates the spirit of travel, where the romance of the Taisho era and the Reiwa era intersect.

"I booked for RM150, and this is my best hotel I stayed in Sapporo. The location is near the tourist area but its within neighborhood area, and its uphill. So for anyone with luggage might be struggling a bit if u dont have car. But, the view is amazing, and they gave me a room with snow view as i requested. The room are spotless, comfortable and have personal heater inside. The staff also very friendly and accomodating esp when I asked to borrow a charger. The public bath also big and u might have it all to yourself honestly (not that many guest during my stay). I would love to come back!"

"The hotel is a bit old, but the experience was great. The front desk staff used a translation device, which made communication smooth. Every room has a hot spring bath, and the toiletries provided are very comprehensive. My only complaint is that there were some strange noises at night, which was a little unsettling. The French restaurant was decent, and the service there was excellent."

Outstanding
AAshley Wong889I love this room so much. The location is perfect, near the JR Station. The room is big enough for us to open two suitcases fully. One thing I very much like is the laundry pods, the smell is very fragrant!I wanna know about the brand of the laundry pods.
AAnonymous UserPros: Staff were friendly and helpful. Villa was very well kept, with excellent views of the ocean. Pleasantly surprised by complimentary puddings and drinks. Manual grinder and coffee beans were a nice touch.
Cons: Unable to drive directly to the villa due to safety policy. This made loading/unloading luggage very inconvenient. The walk to the carpark required negotiating a slippery gravel slope, which was even more dangerous in low-light conditions. Recommend to improve this with proper stairs or paved pathway.
GGreen_newThis B&B is fantastic, clean, upscale, and has everything you need. The host is Chinese and the communication was great. Since there weren't any other guests, we rented the entire room for our family, which felt like a little escape from Japan. The bus stop is right outside, making it a convenient option for those wanting a rural Japanese experience.
It all depends on what you want. If you want a spacious vacation experience, this is the place to go. There's a dining room, kitchen, living room... For the same price, you'll get more convenient transportation at a hotel, but the smaller rooms in Japanese hotels are undeniable...
GGuest UserA super surprising hotel next to the Otaru Canal, with a retro Meiji-era style. Every corner is carefully decorated, and you can see traces of history next to the Otaru Milky Way. The hotel service is super safe and enthusiastic. I made a reservation in time for the Otaru Fireworks Festival and opened the rooftop in advance for guests to watch in an orderly manner. This is the most satisfactory hotel for my trip to Hokkaido, with the most delicious breakfast and the most comfortable hot springs.
SSyazwan MokhtarI had an amazing time at this hotel. You will need to take 15 minutes taxi ride to reach here from Otaru station. It's right by the beach. Room is super spacious and comforting. There's kitchen and dining area. It was snowing so the balcony is filled with snow but the view is just so amazing. The staffs are very helpful. You can check in early with a small fee. Breakfast was simple. Complete amenities.
GGuest UserWe stayed for four nights, and the ski package we booked was a good deal. However, on the first day, the staff at the ski rental shop seemed a bit unfamiliar with the process, which caused us quite a bit of hassle.
The hotel's advantages are very clear. We chose it specifically for the convenient ski access. Every day, after skiing, being able to enjoy the hot springs before the crowds arrived was incredibly pleasant, especially since it was snowing during our stay, which made for a unique experience.
We had dinner at the restaurant a few times. Since we made same-day reservations, our choices were limited, and our dining times were somewhat restricted. Despite the limited selection, the dinner food was good and not expensive.
The downsides were also quite noticeable. Firstly, the moment I opened the toilet lid upon check-in, I found a curly hair, which was a real turn-off. It might have been an issue with the specific room we were assigned (this room was inexplicably next to the garbage room); the layout was a bit strange, and there were no bedside tables, which was very inconvenient.
I personally felt that the staff's service attitude was good, but my spouse mentioned that he used polite language when communicating with the front desk, and he was surprised that they did not reciprocate the same level of courtesy.
SsweetknellneuThis guesthouse seems to be run by Chinese owners, which is nice. My room was right by the entrance. After checking in at the front desk, I couldn't find it until I turned around... it felt a bit like sleeping in a guardhouse. The soundproofing isn't great either. Because of its peculiar location, it gets very noisy in the mornings. And the room next door seems to be a staff office, which also generates a lot of noise. However, the room was warm and clean, perfect for a night's sleep, and the price was excellent. The only downside is that it didn't have a private bathroom. The common areas were clean and there was even coffee available, which was a pleasant touch.
FFahimnazeriI chose this guesthouse for its proximity to the train station and great value for the money, and I'm so glad I did! Even though it's a bit far from Sapporo city, the short 2-minute walk to the train station made getting around a breeze. The unit had everything I needed, including a washing machine and cooking essentials, which really made my stay comfortable. I definitely plan to book this guesthouse again for my next winter trip!
GGuest UserAdvantages: The natural environment is good, the surrounding green waters and green mountains, the air is fresh, and the stars can be seen at night.
Disadvantages: far from the city, there is a large hotel around the hotel that can provide catering services. There is no hair dryer in the room, no pot for boiling water (the hair dryer is shared at the front desk, and there is a water dispenser for boiling water in the corridor). There is no table in the room, it is not convenient to put things. The room type provided is different from the description of Trip.com (no sofa).
GGuest UserPro: Nice looking apartment, spacious for family of 4. Carpark lot was provided for the guest. Easy to check-in Walking distance to the otaru canal
Cons: There was urine stench inside the toilet. I had to clean the toilet seat and around it unfortunately the smell still remained.
Secondly, we can smell cigarette at the living room in the morning as we believed that there was a guest smoking g from upstairs or downstairs.
