"I had a really good experience overall. The hotel is convenient, comfortable, clean and absolutely beautiful. What I loved most is how the whole property has a very classic Chinese feel. With the traditional architecture, beautiful gardens surrounding the hotel and free access to Panmen Garden, it genuinely felt like I had stepped into an old Chinese dynasty. Such a unique atmosphere. The service was also generally good. I enjoyed the Wu Gong Hanfu experience. The staff were helpful and the photographer had really food skills and knew how to capture the photos nicely. My main downside would be the language barrier. I would expect an international hotel chain like Pan Pacific to have more English speaking staff at least basic English. It was sometimes difficult to request simple amenities. I called housekeeping but the call was transferred to reception staff and the reception staff also had difficulty communicating in English so getting a simple request sorted out become quite challenging. Other than that, everything was great. 👍"

"The hotel staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, and the room was spotlessly clean. The bedding was soft and comfortable, making for a great night's sleep. Its proximity to the subway station made it super convenient for getting around to all the attractions. Plus, there's free coffee in the lobby, which tasted pretty good! The Scholars Hotel Suzhou Pingjiangfu (Shuxiangshijia Huisuojiudian Suzhou Pingjiangfudian) is located in the heart of Suzhou old town and handy for visiting the many local attractions and classical Chinese gardens found there. An attractive hotel, it features traditional Chinese-style architecture, courtyards featuring pools of water and sculptured rock. Guestrooms boast contemporary furnishings with traditional touches and all the usual amenities required for a comfortable stay.

"Location: The hotel is very close to Pingjiang Road, basically within walking distance. We drove to the hotel, and parking was free. The hotel even has its own charging piles, so no need to charge outside. Our itinerary was only around Pingjiang Road, so driving was very convenient. Baitapu Road was indeed very congested, but the hotel is right on Baitapu East Road. After exiting the Changtai Expressway, we only hit a few minutes of traffic before reaching the hotel. Environment: The hotel definitely shows signs of age, but the environment is very well-suited to the garden theme, and the landscaping is beautiful. Our original room type was very spacious with a balcony. Aside from some noticeable wear on the floor, the cleanliness was fine. Service Attitude: The front desk lady was very friendly. Before checking in, I expressed concerns about the hotel being old, so she first showed us the room. We only checked in after confirming we were satisfied. During check-in, I casually mentioned if we could get an upgrade, and after she requested it from the manager, it was approved! 👍 Getting an upgrade so readily put me in a great mood! Room: The hotel has two renovated buildings. You can inquire about them before checking in. The new rooms are quite good and spacious, with a separate wet and dry area and two sinks. This came in handy later when I bought lotus flowers – one sink was perfect for keeping them! Also, all the cups were shrink-wrapped, ensuring good hygiene. The room type also included a qipao experience + 3 photos, but we had already done our makeup and styling elsewhere so we didn't use it, though I saw other guests taking photos. The room type also came with complimentary Suzhou noodles, specifically the Aocao noodles from the restaurant. I really enjoyed them! There were 4 topping options, and both the braised duck and vegetarian toppings were good. Breakfast was delicious! The red bean paste was particularly well-prepared."

The rooms are spacious and elegantly furnished, equipped with all the necessary amenities, including a coffee machine and a Dyson hairdryer. The bathroom is large, featuring double sinks, a big bathtub, a smart toilet, and a separate wet and dry shower – cleanliness standards are very high. I felt very secure and comfortable during my stay. The bedding was soft and gentle on the skin, and the soundproofing was excellent; despite being right by Jinji Lake, I enjoyed high-quality sleep. "The front desk staff were very welcoming, and the room was spacious – a big plus! The toilet and shower are separate, and the shower's hot water was quite stable. The floor-level bed was more comfortable than I expected, and there's a mini-fridge (another great point!). The balcony is also very large, which is fantastic. The hand soap at the sink is foaming (super good!), but no matter how I adjusted the tap, the water wouldn't get hot. Luckily, I don't need hot water for washing my face right now. The air conditioning was very loud, but since it's autumn, I didn't need to turn it on for sleeping, so it didn't affect my rest. Plus, the surroundings were very quiet, so my sleep quality was decent. The folding fan and health hammer given at checkout were also practical."

Experience the renowned beauty of Suzhou in an unforgettable private island of Four Seasons Hotel Suzhou. Our 9-hectare (22-acre) private island retreat on Jinji Lake is only minutes from the bustling city center, with expansive gardens and dramatic lake views enveloping you in a serene and private sanctuary – a true urban escape.

"Before my visit, I did some research, and online, the praise for Suzhou Four Seasons was endless, practically positioning it as the number one hotel in Suzhou. Upon arriving at the Four Seasons, it's true that it occupies its own island, and the scenic views are significantly better than those at the Park Hyatt. However, perhaps because I had just come from the Yangzhou Guesthouse, the 200-acre Four Seasons island felt a bit lacking compared to the Yangzhou Guesthouse's 400-acre garden. What's more, there were many areas inaccessible by the hotel's shuttle, which was a little disappointing. Also, the welcome fruit at the Four Seasons was truly one of the stingiest I've ever seen. I've heard that Four Seasons hotels are good at cost-saving, but there's no need to cut corners in such obvious ways, is there? Furthermore, the lobby was very noisy during both check-in and check-out. This is truly the first time I've experienced such a situation in a hotel of this caliber, and I don't know what to say. You can't really blame the guests, they're on vacation; and you'd expect the hotel to uphold the principle of 'customer first'. And to top it off, I found a damaged pillow when I went to sleep, which really shouldn't happen at a Four Seasons hotel. Despite all my complaints, it's undeniable that in Suzhou, the Four Seasons is probably among the top hotels. Its natural environment and scenic views surpass many others. The views of the lake and sky are indeed significantly better than at the Park Hyatt."

"We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Suzhou Shantang Street Jiangnan Palace Hotel! The property is a lovely blend of historical elegance and serene beauty, thoughtfully converted from a classic historical courtyard featuring a tranquil, beautifully landscaped garden. Tucked away discreetly behind a famous Jiangnan weaving museum, it feels like a peaceful hidden oasis right in the strategic heart of the ancient town—just steps away from the iconic canals, historic bridges, and the vibrant lantern-lit night market. It is also exceptionally convenient, located just one stop from Suzhou Train Station via Metro Line 2. What truly made our stay unforgettable, however, was the warm and genuine service from the staff. Every single team member was remarkably polite, friendly, and dedicated to delivering excellent service throughout our stay. My only regret is forgetting to ask for their names before checking out so I could thank them personally! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Suzhou who wants to experience authentic local heritage alongside world-class hospitality—it is easily one of the best options in the area."

Hotel Indigo Suzhou Jinji Lake was absolutely amazing. A special thank you to **Raffael** and another gentleman whose name I unfortunately forgot—I’m pretty sure I read his name on his name tag! In any case, all the clerks were wonderful, friendly, and genuinely helpful. The room service was fast and very good, and I absolutely loved the breakfast. And forget the ordinary little “welcome drink” you usually get at hotels—this place takes welcome drinks seriously! 😂 The drink was so generous that I actually had to share one cup with my driver. This was my first time in Suzhou, which may sound quite ordinary, but for me, it was actually a big deal. It was the **first time in my life that I traveled somewhere completely alone**. All my partners were worried about me, and honestly, I had some hesitation too. But the wonderful atmosphere and hospitality of the hotel staff quickly made me feel comfortable and at ease. After a worldwide business trip, I made a last-minute decision to change my destination from Shanghai to Suzhou. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, especially since I didn’t find as many reviews from my foreign travelers friends about Suzhou as I expected. Somehow, though, I trusted Indigo—and I’m very glad I did. There are four things that really stood out to me: **1. The location** The location was perfect. It made exploring the area very convenient and was one of the reasons I immediately felt I had made the right decision. **2. The service** The service was sublime. Every interaction with the staff made me feel welcomed and well taken care of. Their hospitality really helped take away my hesitation about traveling alone. **3. The room** I honestly felt like I could spend the entire day in that bathtub! 😂 Everything in the room was thoughtfully prepared and very comfortable—the sofa, table, armchair, bathroom, tea corner, and even the little shelf for reading. It felt like a place where I could actually stay and enjoy the room rather than simply use it as somewhere to sleep. I even started wondering whether I should cancel my day tour and just stay at the hotel longer! **4. The food and coffee** The hotel food is definitely a must-try. I ordered room service this time, but next time I will make sure to go to the restaurant and experience it properly. And as someone who is very much a **coffee-first person**, I have to mention the coffee. I’ve been disappointed by coffee in many places during my travels, but not here. Coffee lovers can relax—you’re in good hands at this hotel. ☕️ And the **pastries and cakes are amazing too**. I honestly wasn’t expecting to be this impressed by the bakery selection. Everything was so good that I could easily make another trip just for breakfast, coffee, pastries, and cake. 😂 I will probably come back and stay here again. And honestly, it’s not only because of Suzhou itself. **Hotel Indigo Suzhou Jinji Lake made me want to come back to Suzhou.** Thank you for the sublime hospitality and for making my first solo experience in Suzhou such a wonderful one. ❤️

Upon checking in, I added our butler Anbo on WeChat. The balcony room he arranged for us was incredibly well-equipped, with a spacious and airy layout and a simple yet tasteful design. The room came with its own viewing balcony, offering a fantastic view of the old town's white walls and black tiles as soon as you opened the window. The bedding featured a Serta mattress, which provided a comfortable and restful sleep. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, a large bathtub, and came fully stocked with a hairdryer and custom toiletries – I even asked the butler for the brand name of the toiletries when checking out because they were so good. The room also had a capsule coffee machine, complimentary first-round mini-bar drinks and snacks, and a smart home control system that was easy to operate. Thoughtful details like bathrobes, slippers, and a yoga mat were also provided. The most delightful surprises were the cute and practical bento bag and toiletry bag, which were both stylish and functional, and the adorable wooden room key, making for a memorable souvenir. The room's soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a quiet and peaceful stay. All the amenities were top-notch and spotlessly clean, making our stay comfortable and relaxing. You could really feel the brand's dedication to quality in every detail. I'll definitely be back if I get the chance!

This hotel is absolutely stunning, every detail is perfectly to my taste! The location in Taohuawu is peaceful, just 100 meters from the Lotus Market, and parking is convenient – so much better than staying on Pingjiang Road! The entrance has a touch of Tang and Song dynasty aesthetics, making you feel like you've been transported to Kyoto. Upon entering, you're greeted with warm and thoughtful welcomes, making you feel right at home! The black and white patterned tiles are retro, paired with a minimalist style, it's truly beautiful! The garden features are all very tasteful, and the black spiral staircase is perfect for photos! The room is even more detail-oriented. Besides disinfectant wipes, the bathtub comes with bath bags, bath salts, and bubble salts for your choosing. The room also offers complimentary mini-bar drinks and drip coffee, all of good quality! What I loved most were the bedding and pillows; the memory foam pillow perfectly saved this 'pillow snob,' letting me sleep soundly until morning! The breakfast selection is rich and everything tastes delicious, with options for both Chinese and Western cuisine! The hotel also offers stamp making and sachet crafting, which are great for kids to experience! I could come back to this hotel a thousand more times.

I was pleasantly surprised to discover this unique, niche hotel. The space is incredibly well-designed. The room had a cozy, enveloping feel that made me feel very secure. As for the public areas, they were absolutely stunning – every corner was picture-perfect and exuded a relaxed vibe. The breakfast was semi-buffet style, and the variety catered to everyone, from children to seniors, and even those with diabetes (they had steamed sweet potatoes and corn). Both Western and Chinese options were available. My favorites were the curry with naan and the Eggs Benedict – truly delicious! The tableware was also exquisite, making it easy to snap great photos. The coffee was better than what you'd find at many five-star hotels. The only slight downside was that the baristas didn't seem to do latte art (but that's not a big deal). There was an ample supply of tissues in the room, and their quality was excellent, comparable to high-end brands like Tempo. (+1 point) The bath amenities had a pleasant scent, almost like a subtle, youthful body fragrance. (+2 points) The lighting was set to be very warm and inviting, neither harsh nor too dim. (+3 points) The bedding was excellent, and the pillows were soft. It was very quiet at night. (+4 points) They provided a Laifen hairdryer, and the toilet seat was heated, with disposable toilet seat covers provided daily. (+5 points) There were four bottles of water in the room, two of which were Voss. (+6, +7, +8 points) The hotel has its own laundry room with two washers and two dryers, accessible from the coffee shop. The drinks at this coffee shop were delicious and Instagram-worthy. I didn't try the cakes, but they all looked incredibly tempting. The staff uniforms were very stylish. They weren't obsequious but full of vitality and youthful energy, which naturally uplifted my mood. There's also a free parking lot within a 5-minute walk to the hotel. Upon checkout, they gave us bread as a gift. The highlight was that this bread was incredibly tasty, and even the packaging was beautiful, demonstrating great attention to emotional value. My only minor complaint is that the staff training wasn't entirely polished. They were very cautious and eager to please guests, but they still lacked some practical experience. However, given their pleasant appearances, I'm willing to be understanding.

Let's talk about the location first: I originally wanted to book a hotel by Jinji Lake, but I'm so glad I booked here instead – it's incredibly convenient! Pingjiang Road is right outside, making it easy to find food, entertainment, and buy souvenirs. But what I really want to rave about is the service. We drove here, and on a weekend, there were a lot of cars around the attractions. I contacted the front desk, and a staff member named Xiao Xu immediately arranged someone to help us with our luggage and provided valet parking. We went straight to the hotel, and a dedicated driver parked our car. When we wanted to go elsewhere, we chose to take the subway, and they even arranged a car to pick us up and drop us off at the high-speed rail station – all we had to do was contact the concierge. We stayed for one night, and we had to check out before 12 PM the next day. I thought the service would end after check-out, but that wasn't the case at all. In the afternoon, we bought some souvenirs and stored them at the hotel. In the evening, when we returned to our car, they even arranged a dedicated staff member to help us carry everything to the car, including all our luggage. The service was absolutely fantastic!!! If we didn't know what to eat or where to stay, the front desk would always arrange everything perfectly. The room has a Suzhou-style garden decoration, giving you the feeling of living in a traditional garden. The building itself is 300 years old, and the environment is lovely, plus it's very clean. What I want to praise the most is truly the amazing service; it made traveling with kids so convenient. Even after checking out, the service didn't diminish, which I'm really grateful for!

We stayed 1 night in this lovely hotel on a Sunday night. We managed to check in early at 1 pm and was upgraded from the 30 sqm king room we booked to a larger 41 sqm room. The room is new and used lovely bath amenities, an Australian hotel brand. Our stay came with a set dinner for 2 persons and the food was delicious. The pricing in the hotel restaurant is similar or cheaper than any other regular Chinese restaurant outside. We paid the next day at lunch time to eat Chinese food at the hotel again as the restaurant environment is nice and service is good. They have a very well equipped gym which unfortunately we did not have time to use during our 24 hour stay. Our room rate included breakfast and the selection was generous, the only negative would be the coffee beans they used are too acidic but that’s a personal preference. The location of the hotel is slightly to 1 side of the Suzhou old city but some sights like 网师园 are walking distance. Suzhou city is actually quite spread out, no one location is best for sightseeing. The great thing is didi only cost less than RMB10 per ride from this hotel so it is still very convenient. I would not bother with the Suzhou subway, it is not as convenient as the one in Shanghai. Oh yes, the cable TV have english programming which is nice for a hotel in China. I believe this Artyzen Habitat brand is managed by the Macau Shun Tak group. Will stay here again for good value and service. 这个酒店非常好,值得回来再住。五星级的设施,四星级的价钱。

The environment is great, and the facilities are comprehensive. It seems to be an apartment hotel with a history and a good reputation. It's a one-bedroom, one-living room unit with a bathtub. You have to stand in the tub to shower, which I'm not used to – it's a bit narrow and inconvenient. I'm more accustomed to a dedicated shower box. The bedroom and living room are separated by sliding doors. There's no space for nightstands on either side of the large bed, which I also found inconvenient (although you can put things on the headboard). My feet kept hitting the sliding door when getting out of bed, which was annoying. What I did like was the high floor, the view, and the microwave and tableware provided.
