"The good thing about the hotel is that it is relatively quiet. The pool was nice. The gym was very barebone, however, with almost no equipment inside. It is not located on the beach, you need to walk about 10 minutes, which is not bad. However, there is no place for you to sit on the beach as almost everywhere is occupied by bars or beach front resorts.
The main problem I found with the hotel is its surrounding and its location. The hotel is not located at the lively market which is much further away and difficult to access by walking due to heavy traffic (I had to go to the beach every day and walk along the shore). I really struggled to find good food near the hotel and only had an ice cream for lunch. Also the hotel is located quite far from almost all attractions in Lamai aside from the beach, such as Guan-Yu shrine, red temple, Hin Ta Hin Yai, etc., and the taxi is very costly here. Also if you want to go to Chaweng beach it's almost 400 baht by taxi. I would recommend this hotel provided you have your own mode of transportation."

"The location is right on a busy main road, so there's a lot of traffic as soon as you step out. It can be quite stressful and not ideal for a relaxing vacation. However, it would be much more suitable for business travelers. The facilities inside are a bit outdated, but the price reflects that. - The view was truly breathtaking and fabulous.
- The family room was fantastic and met our needs.

However, there were some areas that fell short of my 4-star expectations:
- The hotel's location was inconvenient, requiring a taxi ride to reach any beach.
- The rooms lacked a telephone, which was a notable omission.

- The swimming pool was not well-maintained, with dirty water that needed vacuuming and chlorination.

"Beautiful resort, large room which was clean and had everything we needed. Great pool, however we had to ensure to be there early as people left their towels on the beds early in the morning. Guests also have access to the beachclub which includes free sunbed reservation, however ensure to do this at least one day in advance as it books up quickly. Food at resort and beach club was nice, however on the more expensive side. The resort is a far distance away from anything however they have a shuttle that you can use for free to get to the 7/11 & beach club, they can also take you to other places but we just used grab for this. Staff were very friendly and helpful."

we had a very pleasant stay at Lamai Beach Resort. The location is excellent, right on Lamai Beach, with beautiful sea views and easy access to the beach.
The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The bed was comfortable, and the room had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. we especially enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and the sound of the sea.
The staff were friendly, polite, and always helpful, making us feel very welcome throughout our stay. The resort grounds are well kept, and the overall atmosphere is calm and relaxing.
This resort is perfect for anyone looking for a comfortable beachfront stay in Lamai. I would definitely recommend Lamai Beach Resort and would be happy to stay here again."

GGuest UserHonestly, everything was perfect, and most of the staff were very friendly and attentive. Our butler, Tak, was also incredibly thoughtful. My only complaint was that on the day we checked in, I wasn't sure if the person who checked us in and took us to our room was our assigned butler. It was a male staff member. I found that the QR code on the room's TV couldn't successfully add the front desk on WhatsApp. This same male staff member answered the phone when I called, saying we could resolve the issue the next morning. It wasn't until our third day that we learned each villa has its own dedicated butler. Later, when we inquired at the front desk, our butler Tak contacted us and explained that the previous butler, named Ming, had finished his shift. It was only then that I managed to add the substitute butler, Tak, on WhatsApp. Tak gave us many suggestions for exploring Koh Samui and provided information about the hotel. Coincidentally, when we checked out, it was the same male staff member who handled it. Our bill actually included a charge that wasn't ours. After I pointed it out, he didn't offer any explanation, just gave me a new bill. He didn't apologize for the error, nor did he explain why this incorrect charge appeared on our bill. The rough service level didn't quite match the hotel's positioning. This was the only part of our entire trip that left me feeling uncomfortable.

stayed in amari koh samui for 4nights, we just got back from koh samui a few days ago.
location wise sure cant deny that, it's by the beach front, 5 mins drive away from central koh samui mall and walking from the night life but so does other resorts around the area.
when you get to the hotel specially after paying so much per night and to be classified as a 5 star hotel, you expect a good service, a 5 star service. Specially when the first point of contact to the customer service is the front staffs, however very disappointing. Most, if not all of the staffs doesnt seem to smile at all. We arrived early so we had lunch first and sure they managed to give us earlier check in at almost 2pm, their check in is at 3pm. we let it go perhaps we were just too tired and sensitive as we just arrived in koh samui and it was humid, however, throughout our stay their customer service was absolutely lacking. VERY LACKING. specially a few staffs driving the buggy service, we even had an accident one time when we were on our way back to the room, one of the driver drove so fast, THEY ALL DRIVE REALLY FAST, and he rammed onto one of the on coming buggy, i was holding my baby so tight. luckily nothing happened to us. same buggy driver who was had a grumpy look the entire stay and we saw him throwing luggages on to the buggy instead of handling them with care. so when you are taking a buggy, tell them to drive slow.
the room, we booked a connecting room, which was a mistake. booking 2 rooms would have been cheaper but anyhow, the room was not clean at all, the bathtub was moldy the floors felt dirty and there were alot of mosquitos every single day. first day we arrived we killed 10 mosquitos in one room whats up with that.
breakfast had good selections, they have 3 pools around the resorts as it is a big resort best one is the one over looking the beach, kid friendly pool. they have kids room, not that big just a small room.. anyway overall would i come back here in Amari Koh Samui, absolutely NOT. Would i recommend amari koh samui, absolutely NOT. if you want to stay in a beach front, there are alot of beach front resorts near amari and around the area check that out..
they did something nice from my baby;s birthday, decorated the mirror and gave cake so i appreciated that.
with kids i would recommend hyatt koh samui, they are friendlier to kids and service is top notch. we moved there after amari THANK GOODNESS

NNatti.DTMJust wanted to drop and share my experience about my stay at the Beachfront hotel on private island. Honestly, staff were super friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The room was cozy and over was had a great view of ocean Plus, the complimentary breakfast was a nice touch. Our dinner was fabulous at Longdtai restaurant, Overall, it was a fantastic experience on private island, and I can’t wait to go back for next vacation.

Ффедор куйдинWe booked the All Inclusive package at Renaissance Koh Samui Resort & Spa through Trip.com, but unfortunately the experience did not match what “all inclusive” usually means.
At check-in we were told that our “all inclusive” included only two dishes per person for lunch and dinner, plus breakfast the next day. This was very surprising, because we paid significantly more specifically for the full package. The administrator also informed us that desserts were included and that our son could order ice cream anytime. However, at lunch the waiter said desserts were not included, and only after calling the manager were we allowed to take one dessert for free “as an exception”.
The sauna was also not included, even though we expected it to be part of an all-inclusive stay.
For dinner, the all-inclusive menu in the seaside restaurant was extremely limited compared to the regular menu, so we could not find anything suitable and had to go to the main restaurant instead.
Breakfast the next morning was excellent, but later at the beach bar we were unexpectedly told that drinks were no longer included, which had not been explained in advance.
What made the experience even more disappointing is that we previously stayed at another Marriott property — Le Meridien Khao Lak — where the All Inclusive package was absolutely outstanding. It included multiple à la carte restaurants, a full buffet with unlimited dishes, drinks, and desserts, and overall was far superior — while actually costing slightly less than what we paid at Renaissance Koh Samui.
Overall, although we paid several times more for the All Inclusive package at Renaissance Koh Samui, what we received was only two dishes per meal, a very limited menu, almost no included desserts or drinks, and inconsistent information from the staff. Unfortunately, it was far from the Marriott-level all-inclusive experience we expected and not worth the extra cost.

GGuest UserDuring the Chinese New Year, hotel prices were outrageous. I unexpectedly booked this hotel, which had very few Chinese guests, and the price was very reasonable. To my surprise, the rooms were quite good, spacious, and both rooms had small balconies. The hotel environment was also nice, with two swimming pools, one by the sea and one outside the villas. The rooms were generally clean, but the air conditioning hadn't been cleaned in a long time; you could see a layer of dust in the vents. The hotel breakfast was a bit disappointing, with not much choice or variety, and no kids' meals, which wasn't very friendly for picky eaters. The hotel is within walking distance of a local restaurant with good reviews (recommended on Xiaohongshu for beautiful sunset views). Although most staff didn't speak Chinese, they were very enthusiastic. Except for one male front desk staff member wearing glasses. When checking in, I mentioned my early flight and was advised to pre-order a breakfast box the day before. However, this staff member kept trying to get me to book a car (a private van costs 700, the hotel charges 1000). I said three times that I wanted to order breakfast, but he acted as if he didn't hear me. It wasn't until I said I wasn't booking a car and just wanted breakfast that he told me to go eat at the restaurant myself! He had a disdainful attitude throughout. I've been to so many countries and so many hotels, and this is the first time I've encountered such terrible service.

GGuest UserI highly recommend staying in a beachfront room or higher if you choose this hotel; other room types are not worth it (the square in the picture is beachfront, and even the 'beautiful sea view' room we stayed in for one night wasn't great). I also wouldn't recommend staying during the rainy season. The only time this hotel feels worth it is when you're in a beachfront room with an unobstructed sea view. The common areas are very limited, we didn't even check them out and don't know if there's a beach. The room facilities feel quite dated, the breakfast was very mediocre, and the service was just okay. However, on a sunny day, the beachfront rooms with their direct sea views and the rooftop sea view restaurant can make the stay worthwhile. The main meals at the restaurant were good.

GGuest UserGarrya Tongsai Bay Samui is one of those places that stays with you.
What really makes the difference is the people. The service is excellent, but more importantly, it feels sincere. The staff are genuinely kind, always smiling, always present, and somehow they manage to make everything feel easy and natural. You never feel rushed or overlooked, just quietly taken care of. Special thanks to ”mamy” the fruit lady at breakfast that is a pure expression of joy and the Yoga and Muay Thai instructor.
The facilities are beautiful and very well maintained, but without feeling stiff or overdesigned. Everything works, everything feels comfortable, and there’s a calmness to the whole place that makes you slow down almost without noticing. Rooms, pools, spa, restaurants, all of it feels thoughtfully done.
The setting is something special. Surrounded by greenery and right on a peaceful bay, it feels private, quiet, and deeply connected to nature. You hear the sea, the wind in the trees, and very little else. It’s the kind of place where you can actually relax.
Nothing here feels forced or flashy. It’s just consistently good, warm, and balanced. A place you leave feeling better than when you arrived.
Can't wait to be back to this special place.

GGinny_Beautiful looking hotel, quiet and relaxed but also just a short scooter ride away from Fisherman’s village.
For everyone confused about the beach situation: there is a long bit of beach by the hotel. The hotel itseld doesn’t have beds on the beach itself, however, the beds are just above and around the pool area that overlooks the beach. If you wanna lay on the beach, in the morning there is high tide so you won’t be having much sand to lay on, still good for a swim. In the afternoon/evening there is low tide so you can put your towel down easily.
