"Location is good, close to the center and just next to large shopping mall. The front also promptly respond to your request, check in and out is smooth.
Downside however, the bedsheet and pillow sheet slightly stale. In fact, both me and mom felt itchy throughout the night and we have to lay our clothes over the sheet. The aircon is also quite hot and since it is right by the main street it can be pretty loud.
Anyway, it is kind of a good value for budget with many amenities but the hygiene is a deal breaker here for me. Hope it improves."

"This was an amazing surprise! I came to visit a friend who recommended this place and since then I have been hooked! The staff were extremely helpful, the room was huge, the view was amazing, the gym felt like an actual gym and not a room with some weights, and best of all was the morning buffet!!! I haven’t been impressed with a morning Buffett since Covid times but this place had great options western and Asian and the quality was top of the line!
I definitely recommend this place if your looking for a peaceful place next to the sea."

"The facilities are ok but when I was there, the building just finished building and some facilities are still on process. The food is great but the location isn't convenient, I had to walk 2 buildings away from where I stayed to have a breakfast. Not much of a service but the room is clean, so is the toilet (Big toilet, that's a plus)"

"The hotel is very new. Nice, clean and fully equipped with facilities similar to the standard of new hotels in China. The location of the hotel is on Saengchan close to Rayong city and near Laem Charoen Beach. Saeng Chan beach looks better in pictures. It's a hip beach for the younger generation to hang out. The location is good for young locals or foreigners who may travel to Rayong by public transportation. I personally prefer further away from city, a more quiet long beach such as Mae Pim beach or Mae Rum Pueng beach."

AAnonymous UserNewly renovated rooms; comfortable & cleaned. Beautiful private peaceful beach. All the hotel staff that we had contacted did excellent jobs. Enjoyed live music & a fire show in the evening. We gave 200 THB to the fire show men. Frankly speaking, their fire show skills are much better than Hawaii. (Except, no hip dance) It would be nice if the other hotel guests would have given them some tips, too. Everything was good, except the music at the restaurant by the beach was a bit too loud. I will return to stay at this hotel again if I go to Samed next time.

GGuest UserThe location is really far off. In the last corner of the island. If you don’t have a motorcycle you don’t get around well.
There is a shuttle bus which costs around 120 to get to the main area one way for two, but it isn’t that reliable. It is supposed to leave once per hour at 30min after the full hour but sometimes it leaves 5min early and you are stranded for the hour, sometimes you wait until 45min after the hour.
The friendlieness of the staff was from super genuinely friendly and helpful to „ I don’t give the slightest **** for you“ really depends on the person. Breakfast was good, especially the thai soups.
Eating dinner there is very expensive and not that good. The restaurant location outside is spectacular. With view over the sea in many directions.
The huts where you stay are simply too small. I. Essence only a bed that you can walk around. No desk or something. No shelves or something where you could store or hang clothes. You have to live out of the luggage your suitcase. The issue is : there is only space to have one opened at the time, no space for two. That makes it rather inconvenient. The water in the romm is in glass bottles , but it is actually tab water smells like chlorine. I gor stomach pain drinking only one. We were told if we need drinking water , we must use the overpriced water from the minibar.
The beach wasn’t that great. You don’t walk on sand and there was lots of rubble in the water, not pleasant to swim. I would not go there again

AAnonymous UserBeautiful view in beach front (semi detached) cabins. We included breakfast during our stay which was fine (but take care some food had bugs). The rooms were fairly basic, not the most comfortable of beds and did not get cleaned during our 3 night stay. Water was provided and towels replaced once, left outside for us to collect. The restaurant was fairly reasonable, music at night. Unfortunately the rooms were very noisy, you could hear the neighbours during the night and lizards on the roof. The location is a lovely beach, not too far to walk on the beaches to tubtim, but a bit too far to walk to the main town.

GGuest UserLovely location with beach access. We stayed in a Cottage room, which had a large king-size bed and a single bed. The mattress was firm. Although the room was more than adequate for our stay, it is not luxurious. No room service is provided, but rooms are cleaned daily.
Breakfast was included and offered thai food and western based breakfast items ( although it was luke warm at best)
The dinner menu was very thai, fish based, but they did have pizzas or burger and bbq items. I ate mainly thai.
Staff are very friendly and welcoming, although a couple of times we ordered food or drink for it to never appear.
Beach .. sea was lovely and clear , and sand was soft and clean. You can walk over to the neighbouring bay for more restaurant options.
The usual downer is the people that insist on reserving sunbeds and barely using them... frustrating when they are unused for 4 or more hours.

Location & Beach Access
The resort's prime beachfront location is undoubtedly its strongest asset. Situated directly by a beautiful stretch of shallow, crystal-blue waters, it offers safe and perfect conditions for family sea bathing. The convenience factor is excellent – you're just a two-minute walk from the famous Sai Kaew Beach, the iconic Mermaid Monument, and the bustling Silversand Resort area.
Accommodation & Ambience
While the resort building itself shows its age, the refurbished rooms create a lovely ambience with beautiful lighting that transforms the older structure into something quite charming. We stayed on the third floor, which offered peaceful mountain views overlooking the national park forest rather than beach views. The setting is genuinely calm and quiet – exactly what we wanted for a family retreat.
Important consideration: There's no elevator, so reaching upper floors requires quite a climb. As we joked, shuttling between the room and outside areas four times daily provides a workout in itself! This makes the resort unsuitable for elderly guests or anyone with mobility issues.
Dining Experience
The breakfast experience is delightful, served in a beachside restaurant where you can enjoy your meal with sand between your toes. The selection impresses with a good range of both Western and Thai options, including fresh fruits.
The resort's beach restaurant serves quality food with excellent value for money – we tried multiple dishes and enjoyed them all. However, there's no room service, and the restaurant closes early (around 9:30-10 PM). When late-night cravings struck, we found the nearby 7-Eleven (just 5-6 minutes' walk) convenient for snacks.
Room Amenities & Issues
Room amenities are adequate though not luxurious. The shower area is well-designed with a spacious dressing area. However, we encountered an unpleasant odor from the bathroom drainage system that required some management during our stay.
Activities & Surroundings
For water activities like parasailing, snorkeling, and jet skiing, you'll need to walk to Sai Kaew Beach to find service providers – fortunately, we found excellent options there.
Final Verdict
Avatara Resort succeeds as a family-friendly destination that balances beachfront access, peaceful ambience, and reasonable pricing. While it has some limitations (no elevator, early restaurant closure, minor maintenance issues), the overall experience was enjoyable and memorable.
Recommended for: Families seeking a calm beach getaway who don't mind some stairs and prefer a quieter resort atmosphere.
Consider alternatives if: You need elevator access, late-night dining options, or luxury amenities.

COULD NOT GET TWO KEY CARDS FOR THE ROOM, RECEPTIONIST REFUSED THE REQUEST FOR SECOND 20 cent PLASTIC KEY!?!?!? NOT NORMAL SERVICE AND NOT PRACTICAL FOR TWO PEOPLE!!!
ALSO THE BUILDING HAS NO ELEVATOR!!!
Had to climb to third floor with luggages as bell boy was somewhere....also the actual room is in two levels i.e.: entrance and toilet downstairs, bedroom and living room upstairs.
Outside balcony shower and bath tub had no privacy as shower is visible to the courtyard.
Stayed 4 nights and 2 days water and electricity interruptions.
Beach bar Happy Hour doesnt work traditional way:
Ordered Kamikaze and Strawberry Margarita and tacos.
Drank the first Buy 1 get 1 Free and ate the tacos.
Waited for the second drinks for a while but then waitress brings us bill without asking it.
Happy Hour had ended and we didnt get our second drinks but got invoiced for only one THB350 cocktail and tacos, so be aware of the Grand View Happy Hour practices and dont miss the ordering window like we did. 🤭
Daily issues with the restaurant card machine, cant pay with a CC.
Clean and modern room, but poor service and not practical room with two levels and stairs.

The accommodation was between Buggy and Sai Kaew Beach Resort, and it was a short walk to a 7-Eleven. Breakfast was a set menu with options to order in advance. You can eat at the cafe or in your room. However, the staff at the cafe and other areas lacked service mind. They didn't smile and greet me. They were either sitting on their phones or chatting in groups. The water and toiletries were insufficient for the guests. The restaurant and cafe closed early, closing before 5 p.m. There was nothing available for drinks or food. The entrance was under renovation, but every time I walked past, the attentive receptionist would come out and tell the technician to stop and let me pass. Thank you.
The air conditioning wasn't cool throughout the room, but overall, I liked the beautiful and complete interior design. The mattress on the large bed was too soft, causing back pain.

HhaiikoThe sockets are all broken, the fridge is on the latest edition. There is constant noise from the workers on the side of the building with the first ten rooms (I understand everything, you need to rest, but why didn't they make a rest area for them further away from the tourists' bedrooms, so that at 7-8 in the morning they wouldn't wake them up with loud conversations and sounds from phones)
