I love this hotel. Staff were very friendly and caring. Due to high altitude sickness I wanted to buy Pocari Sweat on Mei Tuan but didn't have a local phone number to place the order, the ladies at the front desk helped me out. They also upgraded me to a room with the view of the Potala Palace. The room is nice, clean and spacious with oxygen supply and lots of bottled water provided. There is a big shopping mall 300 meters away (about 10-15 minutes walk) which you can find restaurants there. Free laundry service is a big plus as I spent 6 nights in this hotel. I feel the price is absolutely worth it for the customer service they provided, and I would love to try the hotels under this chain (Hilton) next time when I travel to other cities in the future.

The buffet breakfast category was a lot richer than last year, with butter tea, Tibetan noodles and Chinese breakfast. Time has inevitably left its mark, but a classic car, even when old, is still a classic car. Moreover, service and quality require time to accumulate and withstand market scrutiny. While the Shangri-La may not have many existing locations, it still holds a strong market advantage, and it takes an discerning eye to appreciate it. My butler, Bowen, arranged my room before I even arrived. Looking out the window at the Potala Palace's silhouette in the distance immediately set the mood. He then meticulously delivered on all aspects of my package. I found Bowen to be a man of few words but very steady, highly responsive, and an exceptionally smooth driver. He never asked inappropriate or subjective questions, which I truly appreciated. Over three days, Bowen's accompaniment added a unique dimension to my Lhasa itinerary. Among the few Tibetans I've encountered, he was a definite plus. I sincerely wish him all the best in his work! The Shangri-La in Lhasa lives up to its brand's standards and enhances the reputation of its sister properties. I'm so glad I made the right choice; this will be a memorable and wonderful travel experience.

The hotel is not far from the Potala Palace. The parking lot is large, there's a night market nearby, and a large supermarket is right next door, which is very convenient. The front desk staff were friendly and professional, check-in was quick, and they even proactively upgraded my room. They patiently answered all my questions about local sightseeing. The room was meticulously cleaned, even the corner of the bathroom was spotless. The room wasn't facing the street, so it was very quiet. The bathroom had a separate shower and toilet!
