The location alone makes it a fantastic choice for anyone looking to enjoy the natural beauty of the area. The owners were incredibly kind and helpful, making us feel very welcome. The owner even parked our car right in front of the hotel. Even though we don’t speak Chinese, communication was smooth thanks to a translation app. Their hospitality truly stood out, and we appreciated their warm and accommodating attitude. The only downside was that our room was quite cold until the heating started working in the evening. Overall, despite this small issue, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a scenic and welcoming place to stay in the Meili Snow Mountains!"

"The room is very spacious, and the underfloor heating keeps it perfectly warm at night, so it's never cold. There's also a smart voice assistant to control the lights. The shower water pressure and bathroom heater are both excellent. One of the highlights is the hotel's rooftop observation deck. The views are even better, and there are fewer people since it's exclusive to hotel guests, meaning you don't have to deal with crowds at public observation points."

"Meili Past was once a very famous hotel in Feilai Temple, boasting an unbeatable location right below the Feilai Temple viewing platform. You could enjoy the stunning sunrise over the snow-capped mountains without even leaving your room. It's understandable that a twenty-year-old hotel would have dated facilities, but it's clear the staff, led by Mr. Liao, maintain it meticulously, paying close attention to detail. If I recall correctly, it used to be recommended in Lonely Planet, which explains the high number of foreign guests. I absolutely loved the American breakfast; it was very authentic and delicious. Parking is available in a spacious three-story public underground car park about 200 meters away. If seeing the 'sunrise over the golden mountains' is your priority, this is definitely the place to choose."

"For this price, the facilities are complete, and the electric heating and bathroom heating are very effective. The front desk also helped provide the taxi driver's contact information, and we arranged to go to Wunongding in the morning in advance, which is only eight or nine kilometers away, making it very convenient."

"The hotel's location is superb, directly facing Shennü Peak and offering a side view of Kalaboge Peak. The top floor features a panoramic cafe and terrace. The terrace view is fantastic, allowing you to avoid the crowds at public viewing platforms. It's not locked at night, so guests can come and go as they please. Early in the morning, the cafe attendant turns on the underfloor heating and brews tea, so you won't freeze while waiting for the sunrise – very thoughtful. We also received a complimentary double afternoon tea set upon check-in, which was excellent. The facilities are among the best in the area. The rooms are spacious, the underfloor heating works well, and the bedding is especially comfortable. If you want a mountain view from your room, you'll need to be on the second or third floor, as the first floor has some obstructions (pic 8). The hotel proactively contacts you about transportation, making check-in very smooth. They help with luggage and show you how to use the in-room amenities. Their message replies are also very prompt. Overall, it's one of the best hotels in Feilai Temple, though the price is on the higher side. About half the cost goes towards the scenic views, so the overall value for money is decent. Here's a practical note: there's an incense burning platform northwest of the Feilai Temple viewing platform, quite close to the hotel's right front. In the morning during sunrise, there's a lot of dense incense smoke. Whether it obstructs the view depends purely on the wind direction (luck). The smoke occasionally drifts onto the terrace just as the 'Golden Mountain' effect is happening."

"The hotel owners, who seemed to be a family, were incredibly warm and welcoming. When we arrived, the Xidang road was under construction, requiring a 10-kilometer hike along the Ninong trail to reach the village. Even though we hadn't informed them in advance, the owners had already turned on the underfloor heating for us and even gave us small gifts, which made my friends very happy. **Pros:** ① Due to its elevated location, there are no other hotels nearby, so the room offers fantastic views and is incredibly secluded. ② The room came with a foot bath basin and complimentary foot soak packets. After a long day of hiking, it was a real treat to come back and enjoy a free foot soak. Other places in the village charged 30 for a foot soak, but honestly, we just didn't want to move anymore. ③ The hotel lobby offered free ginger tea brewed daily. We could gather around the fireplace, chat, and drink ginger tea every evening. The hotel also sold drinks and instant noodles, and the prices for meals were essentially the same as in the village. ④ The service was excellent. Three of us stayed in a family room, so two shared a bed. When we asked for an extra blanket at night, it was delivered very quickly. Sometimes, when we left early in the morning and returned late, the owners would even bring us foot soak packets and water. ⑤ The hotel has several adorable cats, though they usually hang out downstairs by the fireplace. They're very friendly and love being petted. **Minor Drawbacks:** ① The location is on the edge of the upper village, about a ten-minute walk from the village center. However, this also means it's very quiet and peaceful for resting, without any noise. ② The hot water might be solar-powered? One day I was too lazy and took a shower very late. By then, the temperature outside was already below freezing, and the water wasn't as hot. So, it's best to shower earlier."

Both the room and the rooftop cafe offered fantastic views, and my friends were all very happy with it. The breakfast and the small cakes were delicious too. During my stay, we experienced unstable voltage, but the hotel's handling of the situation was exemplary! From the speed of response and efficiency in resolving the issue to the sincere communication, everything was impeccable. Minor imperfections in the facilities are inevitable, but such attentive and considerate service is rare. Kudos to their professionalism and sincerity! (The unstable voltage caused elevator malfunctions, and the staff proactively helped everyone in each room with their luggage.)"

"This guesthouse is relatively new with excellent facilities and a prime location. You can see the famous 'Golden Mountain of Meili Snow Mountain' right from the rooftop, which is a fantastic sight, especially in winter when the probability of seeing it is very high! It's about a 1.5-hour car ride from Shangri-La to Feilai Temple Guesthouse. After getting off in Feilai Temple, it's at least a 15-minute walk to the guesthouse, as I tend to walk slower at high altitudes. The staff here are very welcoming; they even gave me a small gift at check-out. They also offer sweet soup in an insulated container in the evenings. The guesthouse has an elevator, which is a plus. While the breakfast selection isn't huge, it's well-balanced with both Chinese and Western options. The rooms are equipped with oxygen machines, which is really thoughtful for first-time visitors to high-altitude areas."
