It's a shame we didn't get to see the 'Golden Mountain in the Sunlight' from Wunongding, but I'd still highly recommend staying there if you can. This place has a 5th-floor terrace with an excellent view, so you don't have to jostle with crowds. Service: The service was great! The staff (both male and female) were incredibly enthusiastic and even upgraded our room when one was available. Since we arrived late on the first day, they kindly changed our afternoon tea to coffee for the second day. It was a very pleasant stay."

"We were incredibly lucky to witness the 'Rizhao Jinshan' phenomenon (golden mountain bathed in sunlight)! The hotel's views are absolutely stunning (just ignore that big crane, haha). You get an unobstructed panorama of all thirteen Meili Snow Mountains. The owner was super enthusiastic; as soon as we arrived, he warmly explained the best ways to view the mountains. After showing us to our room, he even turned on the humidifier, oxygen machine, and floor heating for us. The hotel is very clean, and in the morning, you don't even need to go down to the observation deck; you can simply watch the snow-capped peaks from your balcony. The hotel thoughtfully provided large, thick blankets, which was a very nice touch."

"We were upgraded to a room with a terrace, offering a stunning 180-degree view of the snow-capped mountains right from our bed. The interior was incredibly modern, featuring a smart toilet and a separate wet and dry area in the bathroom. Upon check-in in the evening, they brought us hot milk and snacks, which our child absolutely loved. Although we didn't get to see the 'Golden Mountain in the Sun' due to the weather, the Meili Snow Mountain was clearly visible, and Kawagebo Peak was truly magnificent. The hotel also offers a great俯瞰 of Feilai Temple. Feilai Temple is the best viewpoint and not far from the hotel. However, Seventeen Hotel is right next to Feilai Temple, and the thick smoke from incense burning in the morning could be quite suffocating for nearby residents. Heaven Hotel, being a bit further from Feilai Temple, didn't have this issue. They also provide diffused oxygen, and a nasal cannula is available if needed. Breakfast was delicious, and we'd definitely come back again."

"We arrived at the hotel very late at night, and I was worried about parking. To my surprise, the owner was incredibly helpful and personally drove us to the parking spot. All the surrounding supermarkets were closed, so we couldn't buy any food, but the owner thoughtfully brought us two cups of instant noodles, which was incredibly heartwarming. I was experiencing some altitude sickness, but this hotel is equipped with diffused oxygen, and the oxygen supply was very stable throughout the night. I slept incredibly soundly and comfortably, which greatly alleviated my altitude sickness discomfort. The room's amenities are excellent, with a humidifier and hairdryer readily available. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area, and it's clean and tidy, making for a truly fantastic stay. The owner is genuinely warm and welcoming, and the accommodation is comfortable and pleasant. I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Feilai Temple. I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time!"

"This was the best place we stayed at on our trip, both in terms of decor and service. **Decor:** Both the hard furnishings and soft furnishings were top-notch. Hansgrohe shower, Duravit sink and toilet, Dyson hairdryer – it made for a very comfortable stay. **Room:** The hotel wasn't full, so they upgraded my room! It faced Meili Snow Mountain directly. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't great, so I didn't get to see the 'golden sun on the mountain' phenomenon, but the view was still absolutely stunning. Snacks and drinks were complimentary, and the room even had two oxygen panels. **Service:** The staff were incredibly warm and friendly. The ******* people were so kind and open, often chatting with us and introducing us to their culture and local travel routes. The experience was truly fantastic! **Food:** We had dinner at the hotel. Although there was a minor hiccup, it was resolved wonderfully. Late at night, we even received a yogurt and fruit bowl, packed with tons of blueberries, strawberries, and more! Delicious! It was like a dream come true for a sweet tooth like me. What truly sets this place apart are the various ******* activities offered, such as: * Morning Sang burning (for blessings) * Handmade ******* incense making * Prayer flag rubbing These activities made the trip more than just sightseeing and sleeping; they allowed me to understand the local culture much better. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Meili Snow Mountain. The picture is of the 'Golden Mountain' sunrise on Meili Snow Mountain, taken from the hotel. "Right after I booked the hotel, the owner proactively called to ask about our arrival time and how we'd be getting there. When they found out we were driving, they gave us precise parking instructions. Once we parked, the owner even had two young boys help us with our luggage, which was very thoughtful. Upon arriving at the hotel, seeing we had children with us, they kindly upgraded us to a room with a view, free of charge. The hotel facilities are incredibly comprehensive. The room's heating system is excellent; not only is there floor heating, but electric blankets are also provided on the bed – a real lifesaver for those who get cold easily! The disposable bath towels are a fantastic detail, especially for germaphobes like me. The hotel is spotlessly clean; even a germaphobe couldn't find fault with it. The service was also excellent and very patient. Facilities: Comprehensive Cleanliness: Spotless Service: Thoughtful and considerate"

What made Meili unforgettable for me wasn't just the blessing of the sacred mountains and the stunning 'Golden Mountain in the Sun' spectacle. A significant part of it was also the warmth and service from every staff member at Ji Xia Shan. No matter when or where, everyone I encountered greeted me not with a standardized, robotic smile, but with a genuinely bright and warm one. There was the unlimited supply of butter tea, the enthusiastic yet shy breakfast guy, the thoughtful and respectful housekeeper sister, the handsome young man on the fourth-floor viewing deck who taught us time-lapse photography, and the auntie who kept asking if we had enough food even after loading our breakfast plates... This wasn't just a place to stay; it felt more like a warm home. When we left in the car, everyone stood at the door waving goodbye, and for the first time, I felt an immense reluctance to leave a hotel, tears flowing uncontrollably. This trip not only received the blessing of the sacred mountains but also embraced the warmth of Ji Xia Shan. I believe these memories will support me through countless moments, inspiring me to strive for even better things. Tashi Delek!

Fantastic, fabulous, and fascinating! This homestay in Benzilan is pure magic! The location is serene, the accommodation spotless, and the people—simply outstanding. The hosts treat you like family, always smiling and going the extra mile to make your stay unforgettable. Honestly, leaving this place is the hardest part! It’s hands down my best stay in Yunnan. If you’re heading to Deqin for Meili Snow Mountain, this is a must-stay. Highly recommended!

Since we came from Yubeng Village and didn't rent a car, the hotel's location was indeed much more suitable for self-driving. Fortunately, the hotel accommodated these inconveniences. The hotel was renovated from an abandoned elementary school, but the overall feel is like a designer's new creation. The amenities were excellent. In addition to the essentials, there was a tea table by the large window facing the mountains. The bed was large, and our room wasn't arranged side by side, but rather one side by one, which was quite unique and even involved a fight over it. The laundry service was thoughtful, and they even delivered goodnight milk in the evening. I also commend the breakfast, which offered both Chinese and Western options. It was one of the most comfortable and freshest breakfasts I've had in Yunnan these past few days, and the Western dishes were very satisfying. The hotel is located in a village group of only eight households, a quiet place with both activity and tranquility. The villagers are simple and shy, and after a walk, I joined them in circumambulating the Buddhist scriptures. Nearby are the Baima Snow Mountain, perfect for hiking, the Niding Line, perfect for children, and numerous wineries. The town itself is famous for the story of a French grandmother. Driving on your own is definitely more enjoyable, but mountain roads require some driving skills. Time is limited, so I'll definitely make up for this regret next time I drive on my own.

An absolutely fantastic stay! First off, the views are unbeatable – our room had direct views of the Meili Snow Mountain. Secondly, the service was incredible; they offered a service chat group, afternoon tea, and a sweet soup before bed, truly thinking of everything. Lastly, the activities were amazing: sunset fireworks, professional photo shoots, and the Sang Incense Ceremony. There was never a dull moment! The room and bed were also spacious. Highly recommend!

I stayed at the Meili Podu, hoping to witness the sunrise over the thirteen peaks of Meili Snow Mountain... but unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate. It was rainy for days, and a thick fog enveloped the peaks, preventing me from seeing the magnificent sight of Meili's thirteen peaks! The hotel faces the snow mountain directly, so you can enjoy the 'golden mountain at sunrise' from your room if you're lucky enough to catch it. The hotel service was warm and attentive. Breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening desserts were all provided. Special mention goes to the breakfast, which was incredibly rich and exquisitely prepared. On the second morning, there was also a butter lamp lighting ceremony for blessings. The hotel's location is unbeatable, truly the best for viewing the snow mountain's 'golden sunrise'.

Our trip to Meili was a delightful surprise! We were lucky enough to witness the 'golden mountain under the sun' and a rainbow after the rain. Slowly savoring these beautiful sights from the perfectly located Meili Past Hotel was truly a blessing. Chatting and tasting wine with the owner, Brother Liao, gave me new insights into Meili's local customs and history. The red wine from Meili Winery has a unique aroma, and the beer is mellow and authentic, adding new experiences to our journey! The unforgettable scenery of Meili, the memorable Meili Past – we look forward to our next gathering in autumn or winter!

This hidden gem of a guesthouse, facing the majestic Meili Snow Mountain, is a true treasure. You can drive right up to the entrance, and there's even a charging station for electric cars. It's a scenic 3-hour drive from Shangri-La, along winding mountain roads. If you arrive before 7 AM, you'll be treated to the breathtaking 'Golden Mountain' sunrise. After sunset, the 'blue hour' creates a gentle and therapeutic atmosphere, making you feel as if you've been transported to a charming European town. The hostess was incredibly warm and attentive, even helping us carry our heavy camera equipment. The room also came equipped with oxygen, which completely eliminated any worries about altitude sickness. Our entire stay was comfortable and unforgettable.

They say you might not see the ”Golden Mountain in the Sun” in October, so I booked this place to avoid wasting money on a view that might not deliver. Turns out, we actually saw it! Super worth it!! The location is right next to where the bus drops you off, so it's a very easy walk, and close to the Feilai Temple viewing platform. The room was unbelievably spacious, and the underfloor heating worked perfectly. There are only four or five rooms, and the view is absolutely stunning. The owner is very simple and enthusiastic. I highly recommend this for anyone hoping to catch the Golden Mountain but worried about a wasted 4-hour drive if they miss it. The accommodation quality is easily more than triple that of other scenic hotels at the same price point, and the courtyard itself can help ease any disappointment if you don't see the sunrise. Let's talk about the downsides: 1. Feilai Temple is currently under construction, so there are large vehicles at night. I personally wasn't bothered by the noise, but I can't guarantee others wouldn't be. This seems to be a common issue for hotels along this road. 2. The room was very clean and tidy, but I wasn't a fan of the air freshener scent. My partner didn't notice it, though. 3. There were some really large flies. I hope the owner can improve pest control. Although they'll probably freeze to death in a few days, seeing them definitely puts a damper on the mood.

I genuinely think this is the best value-for-money hotel in Feilai Temple! Absolutely worth it! The room was small but had everything I needed. I booked it last minute after deciding to arrive a day earlier. It was very warm, clean, and the facilities were new. The service was also excellent; both the front desk and the owner were very polite. I would have extended my stay if they weren't fully booked today.

Getting to the hotel requires turning off National Highway 214 onto a village road, which was completely dark at night. At that moment, I regretted booking this place. However, after driving down that small road for about 5 minutes, we finally arrived, and I immediately felt that my choice was actually a good one. Once we entered the room, my worries completely disappeared! The room felt like a 4-star standard and, thankfully, was smoke-free. Even better, each room had a copy of the 'Brief Introduction to Diqing Prefecture,' a very professional, detailed, and comprehensive book that helps you quickly and systematically understand the area. The hotel restaurant's food was good (though a bit salty for us southerners). The prices weren't cheap, around 50 RMB per person, but given the generous portions, I wouldn't say it was expensive. The main benefit was not having to go out to eat, which saved time and effort. The hotel's environment and ambiance were perfect; it truly felt like a manor. I heard it used to be a vineyard that later upgraded to tourism services. Because it's far from the town and main road, it's incredibly quiet, and you can even see the peak of Meili Snow Mountain directly from here.
