"I've always wanted to stay at this friendly hotel, and after browsing countless options on Trip.com, I finally settled on it. First, it's an established four-star hotel located near Intime in77. Second, the revolving restaurant on the 28th floor really appealed to me. Plus, it's only a ten-minute walk from the West Lake subway station, and there are plenty of dining options nearby. Third, and most importantly, Trip.com had a special offer (which wasn't available on other sites)! It took us four hours to drive from Shanghai (with a stop for lunch at the Jiaxing service area).
The check-in process at the front desk was quick, and we got our room card right away. Although we didn't get an upgrade, our room on the seventh floor had a nice view of the West Lake from one angle. The bedding had definitely been changed – a big thumbs up! Having worked in hotel housekeeping, I can tell immediately if sheets and duvet covers have been swapped out just by looking at the ironed creases. Many hotel staff get lazy!
The room, though not large, was well-equipped. It had a fridge with complimentary drinks, a sofa, a table, a kettle, and tea bags. There was a luggage rack, but it was only really suitable for a 20-inch suitcase. (A 26-inch case wouldn't open properly on it and would just fall over, haha!) So, we ended up not using it and just kept our luggage on the floor, which was easier to access anyway. The room lighting was excellent – very bright! The bathroom was fine; everything worked well except the toilet wasn't smart. The toiletries were good, and the magnifying makeup mirror was a lifesaver for my aging eyes when doing my eyebrows. The hot water for showering was perfect. I was very satisfied with our two-night stay. The buffet breakfast on the 20th floor offered a great selection of Western and Chinese dishes that catered to all tastes. The fruit and coffee were especially fantastic!
I'd also like to commend the security staff for their enthusiastic help with parking and carrying our luggage. I didn't have any small change for a tip, but they were still very helpful and friendly.
Thank you, Trip.com, for the special offer!"
