"Before check-in, the owner told me they'd arranged a shuttle service from the nearest car park. The guesthouse itself is super close to the main street, and the courtyard is beautifully decorated. They even offer free Hanfu (traditional Chinese clothing) for guests to borrow! The rainy weather gave Hongcun a really atmospheric feel, and I even encountered a cute little cat on the way."

The interior design is modern, yet the exterior maintains a traditional Chinese style, offering a comfortable blend of East and West. For its location in Hongcun, Anhui, the facilities are truly top-notch.
The breakfast is well-designed and features a very traditional Chinese spread: congee, salted duck eggs, small siomai, mini steamed buns, steamed sweet potatoes, corn, side dishes, boiled eggs, and fruit. It's both nutritious and filling.
The overall hotel service is also very good. My only observation is that the front desk staff likely don't speak English, which might pose a communication challenge for foreign guests. However, for domestic travelers, this is completely a non-issue.
The small garden outside the breakfast area offers lovely views."

"When visiting Hongcun, I chose this guesthouse, and it was an excellent choice! Its location is superb, right by the Moon Pond, which is a core scenic spot. It's an old house with a lot of historical architectural elements preserved. My room was on the first floor and offered a lovely view of the small courtyard. The young couple who own the place were incredibly attentive. They explained everything clearly, helped with our luggage, and even offered pick-up and drop-off services at the bus station. For seniors, a day of sightseeing here is definitely enough, and we even caught the fish lantern performance in the evening."

"My stay at the Hongcun Zuoxian Art Hotel was a mix of delight and slight inconvenience. The hotel's interior is beautifully designed, featuring many artistic elements that create a unique and charming atmosphere. However, there were some small design issues that detracted from an otherwise pleasant experience.
One issue was the bed frame, which was positioned in such a way that it was easy to accidentally knock into it. Additionally, the courtyard rooms, while picturesque, were not directly connected to the main building, requiring a short walk, which was less than ideal during rainy weather.
Furthermore, navigating the hotel involved quite a number of steps and uneven surfaces, which could be hazardous if one is not careful. Despite these minor drawbacks, the hotel's overall ambiance and artistic flair made for a memorable stay. With a few adjustments, the Hongcun Zuoxian Art Hotel could truly shine as a top-notch destination."

"Located on a back street of the main road, it has its own courtyard and a quiet environment. Looking out the window, you can see ancient buildings nearby, creating a much more atmospheric ambiance than the numerous guesthouses lining the street outside. The room design is very simple and practical; the long, narrow, curved seating area can be used for storage or as a sofa, saving space – a design idea I could definitely use in my future home. The owners were incredibly kind; they lent us electric scooters to explore the surrounding area, which was so convenient. When the projector broke, the owners immediately brought a replacement and even gave me route suggestions to avoid congestion. I recommend contacting the owners beforehand to plan your trip.

The buffet breakfast quality and choice was top notch. We wished we stayed longer than one night! We stayed here after two nights at Huangshan Summit so the in the room wooden bath soaks was a dream. Room was very clean and spacious. Truly 5-star!"

"Traveling with kids, the room was very comfortable and the small courtyard was beautiful. Since we drove, the owner picked us up and dropped us off at the parking lot with a golf cart. The hotel is right next to a big tree, very close to the scenic area entrance, so we could go in and out anytime. It's also super convenient to get to Yuezao and Nanhu. Staying for a night, taking our time to stroll around and see the sights, was really pleasant."

It's in a beautiful old building, very well preserved and refurbished, and in a great location: in the Xidi old town, but a little bit more isolated, in the more quiet and less touristy area. Our room was spacious, comfortable and very stylish, it even had a tiny annexed studio room with desk and interesting books with a good kettle and tea set available. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom had a very nice bathtub and heated toilet. Our host was super nice and helpful, he came to pick us up and dropped us at the bus station at the end of our stay. He's really friendly and gave us some nice tips on visiting the surrounding villages. He has a very cute dog and a cuddly cat :)
Only negative comment: the room's window is on the side of the main road, so you can hear all the cars passing by. But even then, a great stay!

The owners are incredibly warm and attentive, from helping with luggage transfers to assisting with itinerary planning. The rooms are clean and spacious, with complete and new facilities. The wooden structure feels sturdy and soundproof, and some room types even come with a balcony offering fantastic views. The guesthouse's courtyard is large and elegant, and the common areas have a charming antique feel. It's conveniently located near the scenic area exit and major attractions, making it easy to get around while still being away from the hustle and bustle. Plus, there are adorable cats to keep you company. It's a truly comfortable and pleasant stay – a must-stay when visiting Hongcun!

GGuest UserThe B&B is located in the Hongcun Scenic Area, not far from the West Gate 2. There are many choices for eating nearby. You can also go out of the scenic area to eat opposite the bridge. The owner of the B&B is attentive and will drive a tricycle to the nearby Zhongzhou parking lot to pick us up. It is highly recommended to have a two-bedroom and one-living room type. The space is large and there is a large living room. It occupies the entire floor of a house in the B&B. The price is very high. Although the homestay is not in the core area, it is not far from Nanhu Lake, and it is very quiet at night, rests well, very satisfied, will recommend to friends and relatives.

GGuest UserHighly recommended B&B! The location is wonderfully secluded, and the rooms are cozy and tastefully decorated in a Japanese style. The courtyard is very thoughtfully designed; every photo you take turns out beautifully. Most of the staff are *******, and they are incredibly warm and welcoming. Having just returned from a trip to Tibet this year, I felt an instant connection 🥰.
I especially have to mention the B&B's dinner. We originally planned to eat in Hongcun but couldn't find a restaurant we liked, so we decided to head back to the B&B (they even offer shuttle service to Hongcun!). We pre-ordered our meal with the manager, so it was ready when we got back. We ordered stinky mandarin fish, free-range chicken soup, and stir-fried eggs with stone ear fungus. Every dish was made with super fresh ingredients and tasted absolutely amazing, especially the chicken soup. It was definitely made with free-range chicken, something you just can't find in Shanghai – so delicious! The portions were generous too; we couldn't finish it all. The manager even suggested saving the rest for chicken noodle soup the next morning. Wow, such thoughtful service! They also gave us a parting gift when we left. I love the atmosphere here and every single staff member. If you're coming to Tachuan, choose to stay here – you definitely won't regret it!

GGuest UserIt really is a B&B with 0 negative reviews! They helped to pick me up and drop me off at the village entrance. I had a facial injury, so they cooked eggs for me to reduce the swelling. They also explained the history and culture of Hongcun and the sightseeing guide to us in great detail. We booked a loft room, which my son loved. The night in Hongcun is suitable for a night's stay. I will stay here again next time I come!

The room was clean and cozy, and the bedding was so comfortable that I fell asleep the moment I hit the pillow. The bathroom was also completely odor-free. The front desk staff were warm and attentive, check-in was lightning fast, and they even thoughtfully recommended some fun places to visit nearby. GGippiThe property is located in the heart of Hongcun, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the historic village on foot. As guests, you’re also entitled to discounted entrance tickets: just let the ticket office know you're staying here and they'll give you 50% off tickets. Room was exactly as in the photos, spacious, perfectly clean and featured a very comfortable bed and many accessories (bottled water, tv, haircomb, hairdrier, etc). The building’s traditional Chinese architecture was absolutely beautiful and on a rainy day, it created a wonderfully romantic atmosphere we will treasure forever in our memories. The staff were exceptionally helpful. They kindly met us to guide us to the hotel (since Apple Maps and AMaps can be a bit confusing in the area), provided umbrellas free of charge and even bring us back to the parking lot when we left. We had an excellent stay and highly recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting Hongcun!

Hotel manager was very communicative, but you need to have WeChat. They can communicate in English by message with you.
The rooms were stunning, service was excellent and the communal areas were beautiful and comfortable.
Hotel breakfast was freshly made and they were able to accommodate our requests.
Some of the rooms require ascending steep stairs, so if you have accessibility needs it would be best to inform the hotel in advance. Bedrooms are comfortable and cosy. The addition of the tea ceremony area is brilliant. The mattresses and bedding were clean and comfortable. Bathrooms were clean with good pressure hot water.
The hotel also put us in touch with a honest and reliable driver that we used for transfers from the bullet train station as well as a trip to Huang Shan (yellow mountain).

CChi Kwan BrainThe hotel is a brand new one. Once arrived, the hotel reception staff served with a warm smile and generously grant us free breakfast for 2 mornings. Hotel renovation looks well and the room facilities are all modern and high tech. I was particularly impressed with its WCPan which has an auto washing services for buttock. The bed linen and flooring are clean well. Environment nearby is beautiful village scene where we enjoy having a lesuire walk there. All in all, it is a very good hotel which can make you relax even you just stay in the hotel. Ha one more that is the restaurant next to the hotel where one may enjoy delicious Chinese meals. The staff there are also very nice. Eating there is just like having meals at home. I am sure I will stay in Vienna again when next time I go to huangshan.

GGuest UserThe most beautiful proprietress in Hongcun is not only beautiful, she also drives to and from the hotel herself. The service is meticulous and the accommodation environment is good. Although the soundproofing of the century-old wooden house is not good, everyone consciously goes to bed before ten o'clock. The village is very quiet. It was a two-day rest after coming down from Huangshan Mountain. It's great! Super five-star praise!
