"This hotel inside the hongcun village was great! They helped me with a ride from the entrance and back to the station even when I booked it very last minute the same day. The room was very comfortable, spacious and had all the amenities I needed. The location is amazing, just by the moon pond, very centric to everything inside the village. Definitely recommend this place to stay during your time in hongcun!"

"The hotel's ambiance is beautiful, like a garden resort. Opening the room door leads to a small courtyard, and it's quite pleasant to relax on the sofa outside—definitely my cup of tea! 👍
Service: They offer a shuttle service from the West Gate parking lot, and they helped carry our large luggage directly to the hotel. The roads in Hongcun Scenic Area are all paved with flagstones, which are difficult to walk on, so the shuttle service was incredibly convenient.
Facilities: It's equipped with a smart toilet, and the bed was decent.
Souvenirs: We received a glass cup and some tea. The cup seems to be of good quality."

"When visiting Hongcun, I chose this guesthouse, and it was an excellent choice! Its location is superb, right by the Moon Pond, which is a core scenic spot. It's an old house with a lot of historical architectural elements preserved. My room was on the first floor and offered a lovely view of the small courtyard. The young couple who own the place were incredibly attentive. They explained everything clearly, helped with our luggage, and even offered pick-up and drop-off services at the bus station. For seniors, a day of sightseeing here is definitely enough, and we even caught the fish lantern performance in the evening."

"The hotel is located near the South Gate of Hongcun. Since we took a bus from Yixian East to Hongcun West Gate, we had to carry our luggage and enter the scenic area from outside. After contacting the front desk, a service attendant quickly came with a cart to pick us up and help us check in. It's a short walk from the West Gate to the South Gate, which is more suitable for self-driving as it has a parking lot. The hotel has Courtyard 1 and Courtyard 2, and we stayed in Courtyard 2. Our courtyard-view room was excellent; I've included a picture below for reference. I asked the staff, and they mentioned that the tatami rooms are in the old building, while the courtyard-view rooms are newly renovated, so I would definitely recommend the courtyard-view rooms. There's also a communal drying area in the courtyard where you can hang laundry. The rooms have heating, though it wasn't on when we stayed in late February. On rainy days, you'll need to turn on the warm air for sleeping."

"Traveling with kids, the room was very comfortable and the small courtyard was beautiful. Since we drove, the owner picked us up and dropped us off at the parking lot with a golf cart. The hotel is right next to a big tree, very close to the scenic area entrance, so we could go in and out anytime. It's also super convenient to get to Yuezao and Nanhu. Staying for a night, taking our time to stroll around and see the sights, was really pleasant."

"The public areas are particularly impressive. There's a dedicated movie viewing area, roasted sweet potatoes, a free Hanfu (traditional Han clothing) changing area, and a workspace. Breakfast is also available on the third-floor balcony.
This breakfast was one of the best I've ever had. While the selection wasn't extensive, the taste was excellent. The soy milk was delicious, and they also offered freshly made wontons or bamboo shoot noodles.
The third-floor terrace had a fantastic view; you could see the waters of Qishu Lake.
During my stay, they even offered white fungus and pear soup. On the day we left, it was so crowded we couldn't get a taxi, and the owner personally took us to the station.
Overall, the hotel's decor is aesthetically pleasing. The public areas are large and spacious, the rooms are clean, and the bedding is nice and comfortable. Our family room had a view of a bamboo forest, giving us a feeling of being close to nature. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends or choose it again for my next stay."

The buffet breakfast quality and choice was top notch. We wished we stayed longer than one night! We stayed here after two nights at Huangshan Summit so the in the room wooden bath soaks was a dream. Room was very clean and spacious. Truly 5-star!"

It's in a beautiful old building, very well preserved and refurbished, and in a great location: in the Xidi old town, but a little bit more isolated, in the more quiet and less touristy area. Our room was spacious, comfortable and very stylish, it even had a tiny annexed studio room with desk and interesting books with a good kettle and tea set available. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom had a very nice bathtub and heated toilet. Our host was super nice and helpful, he came to pick us up and dropped us at the bus station at the end of our stay. He's really friendly and gave us some nice tips on visiting the surrounding villages. He has a very cute dog and a cuddly cat :)
Only negative comment: the room's window is on the side of the main road, so you can hear all the cars passing by. But even then, a great stay!

Before our arrival, the hotel owner contacted us to help us find the hotel. Because it is located in the Hongcun ancient village (which is a restricted area), taxis and didi cannot access the area but the hotel owner helped us bring the big luggages upstairs and also helped us on our way back. In general, he was very responsive and answered all our questions. We used WeChat for easy translation.
The hotel is situated in the heart of Hongcun village,vry close to the entrance and also close to all the scenic spots. It is just mesmerizing, the hotel itself is a work of art. No matter how much we looked, there were always new things to discover. The decor was fantastic, it was representing the Hui style. A pleasant surprise was the view from our bathroom. The amazing wooden windows opened a magic view to the big hall. The view from the window in front of the bed are Hui-style houses and the mountains. Drinking coffee there and getting ready was a bliss.
The room itself was also very beautifully decorated and kept clean.
If i would come to Hongcun again, I will definitely choose the same hotel. It made our experience purely magical. While visiting the ancient buildings in the village, we were happy to come back to our room, which was as beautiful. Thanks a lot to the hotel staff and especially the owner!

The hotel's interior is beautifully designed, featuring many artistic elements that create a unique and charming atmosphere. However, there were some small design issues that detracted from an otherwise pleasant experience.
One issue was the bed frame, which was positioned in such a way that it was easy to accidentally knock into it. Additionally, the courtyard rooms, while picturesque, were not directly connected to the main building, requiring a short walk, which was less than ideal during rainy weather.
Furthermore, navigating the hotel involved quite a number of steps and uneven surfaces, which could be hazardous if one is not careful. Despite these minor drawbacks, the hotel's overall ambiance and artistic flair made for a memorable stay. With a few adjustments, the Hongcun Zuoxian Art Hotel could truly shine as a top-notch destination.

The owner of the B&B is attentive and will drive a tricycle to the nearby Zhongzhou parking lot to pick us up. It is highly recommended to have a two-bedroom and one-living room type. The space is large and there is a large living room. It occupies the entire floor of a house in the B&B. The price is very high. Although the homestay is not in the core area, it is not far from Nanhu Lake, and it is very quiet at night, rests well, very satisfied, will recommend to friends and relatives.

EE5657****Highly recommended B&B! The location is wonderfully secluded, and the rooms are cozy and tastefully decorated in a Japanese style. The courtyard is very thoughtfully designed; every photo you take turns out beautifully. Most of the staff are *******, and they are incredibly warm and welcoming. Having just returned from a trip to Tibet this year, I felt an instant connection 🥰.
I especially have to mention the B&B's dinner. We originally planned to eat in Hongcun but couldn't find a restaurant we liked, so we decided to head back to the B&B (they even offer shuttle service to Hongcun!). We pre-ordered our meal with the manager, so it was ready when we got back. We ordered stinky mandarin fish, free-range chicken soup, and stir-fried eggs with stone ear fungus. Every dish was made with super fresh ingredients and tasted absolutely amazing, especially the chicken soup. It was definitely made with free-range chicken, something you just can't find in Shanghai – so delicious! The portions were generous too; we couldn't finish it all. The manager even suggested saving the rest for chicken noodle soup the next morning. Wow, such thoughtful service! They also gave us a parting gift when we left. I love the atmosphere here and every single staff member. If you're coming to Tachuan, choose to stay here – you definitely won't regret it!

GGippiThe property is located in the heart of Hongcun, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the historic village on foot. As guests, you’re also entitled to discounted entrance tickets: just let the ticket office know you're staying here and they'll give you 50% off tickets. Room was exactly as in the photos, spacious, perfectly clean and featured a very comfortable bed and many accessories (bottled water, tv, haircomb, hairdrier, etc). The building’s traditional Chinese architecture was absolutely beautiful and on a rainy day, it created a wonderfully romantic atmosphere we will treasure forever in our memories. The staff were exceptionally helpful. They kindly met us to guide us to the hotel (since Apple Maps and AMaps can be a bit confusing in the area), provided umbrellas free of charge and even bring us back to the parking lot when we left. We had an excellent stay and highly recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting Hongcun!

In fact, the biggest advantage of this restaurant is its food, which is considered to be the best tasting one I have had in Hongcun. The stinky mandarin fish is tasty, the ham and steamed tofu are fresh, and the green beans are crisp. I asked the people at the neighboring tables and they all said they had eaten several meals here and it has a good reputation. The environment of the mansion is quite photogenic and is particularly suitable for travel photography. There is a small study, a small garden, birds singing, flowers blooming, and a cute little black cat. It has a lingering charm of a century of accumulation and is suitable for friends who pursue a literary and artistic style. There are also disadvantages. It is relatively expensive, you get what you pay for. In addition, there is no exhaust fan in the shower room, and it is impossible to install it in an old house. You will get used to it, and it will not affect the use much. Finally, I have to praise the proprietress for her hard work in picking up and dropping off customers, and for not trying to sell you things. CChi Kwan BrainThe hotel is a brand new one. Once arrived, the hotel reception staff served with a warm smile and generously grant us free breakfast for 2 mornings. Hotel renovation looks well and the room facilities are all modern and high tech. I was particularly impressed with its WCPan which has an auto washing services for buttock. The bed linen and flooring are clean well. Environment nearby is beautiful village scene where we enjoy having a lesuire walk there. All in all, it is a very good hotel which can make you relax even you just stay in the hotel. Ha one more that is the restaurant next to the hotel where one may enjoy delicious Chinese meals. The staff there are also very nice. Eating there is just like having meals at home. I am sure I will stay in Vienna again when next time I go to huangshan.

Although the soundproofing of the century-old wooden house is not good, everyone consciously goes to bed before ten o'clock. The village is very quiet. It was a two-day rest after coming down from Huangshan Mountain. It's great! Super five-star praise!
